OBJECTIVE: This study suggested a newly developed research model, which is based on TAM(Technology Acceptance Model), to empirically and theoretically verify the acceptance behavior of the internet users for the health website, as the availability of health information through the Internet is rapidly increasing. In this proposed model: the Subjective Norm, the Output Quality, and the Perceived Playfulness were used as the independent variables; TAM variables, including the Perceived Usefulness, the Perceived Ease of Use, the Attitude Toward Use, and the Behavioral Intention were used as the mediator variables; and the Actual Use and the Website Loyalty were used as the dependent variables to measure the individual user's acceptance of the health website. METHOD: The members of the Health Guide(http://www.healthguide.or.kr), who received a flyer through the LISTSERV of it, were eligible to participate in this study. The proposed research model was tested employing the SEM (Structural Equation Model) to empirically verify the hypotheses. RESULTS: The results of the CFA(Confirmatory Factor Analysis) demonstrated that all the measurements fit the data well. Each of the hypotheses was also tested in the structural model. The study results were as follows: First, the subjective norm affected the continuous intention to use of the website(Website Loyalty); Second, the output quality was the significant key factor to positively affect the perceived playfulness, the perceived usefulness, the perceived ease of use, and the website loyalty perceptions. Most of the hypotheses from the original model of TAM were supported; Third, the behavioral intention significantly affected the actual use and the website loyalty; Fourth, the mediating effect of the TAM constructs was significant; Fifth, men were highly acceptable to the health information website than women. The acceptance of the health professional's acceptance of the health website were higher than that of those who in any other profession. CONCLUSION: In the healthcare area, a few studies have evaluated health consumer's information and technology acceptance within a theoretical framework. Therefore, the approach to extend TAM in healthcare is worthy of examination to evaluate health consumer's acceptance of the health website.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is widely recognized as an effective and noninvasive neuromodulation for treating depression, and has been applied in a wide range of clinical settings. However, previous studies often reported inconsistent antidepressant effects that may be due to differences in the rTMS protocols such as coil placement. The typical simulation site for rTMS depression protocol is the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). Targeting the exact site of the left DLPFC while considering individual brain structure has been challenging due to the non-invasive nature of rTMS. Several researchers have applied various targeting methods to overcome the abovementioned issue. Most of the previous studies have applied the “5-cm rule” or the “international 10-20 system,” which is easily applicable. Recently, researchers started to apply a neuronavigation system that targets the stimulation site based on neuroimaging of each individual. Pros and cons of targeting methods have been discussed in terms of validity and reliability of targeting stimulation sites, differences in treatment responses, as well as considerations of individual characteristics. Therefore, the current review focuses on the targeting methods of stimulation site and the treatment effects of depression in previous studies. For discussion, we divided neuronavigation methods into using fixed coordinates and using individualized targets. Furthermore, the limitations of each targeting method are discussed that may potentially contribute to the development of the optimal rTMS protocol for depression treatment.

OBJECTIVES: We examined the association between the adherence to dietary guidelines for breast cancer survivors and health-related quality of life in a cross-sectional study of Korean breast cancer survivors. METHODS: A total of 157 women aged 21 to 79 years who had been diagnosed with stage I to III breast cancers according to the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) and had breast cancer surgery at least 6 months before the baseline were included. We used a Korean version of the Core 30 (C30) and Breast cancer 23 (BR23) module of the European Organization for Research and Treatment Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC-QLQ), both of which have been validated for Koreans. Participants were asked about their adherence to dietary guidelines for breast cancer survivors, suggested by the Korean breast cancer society, using a 5-point Likert scale. We summed dietary guideline adherence scores for each participant and calculated the least squares means of health-related quality of life according to dietary guideline adherence scores using the generalized linear model. RESULTS: Breast cancer survivors who had higher adherence to dietary guidelines for breast cancer survivors had lower constipation scores than those with lower adherence (p for trend=0.01). When we stratified by the stage at diagnosis, this association was limited to those who had been diagnosed with stage II or III breast cancers. Also, sexual functioning scores increased significantly with increasing adherence scores of dietary guidelines among those with stage II or III breast cancers (p for trend < 0.001). However, among those who had been diagnosed with stage I, higher scores of dietary guidelines were associated with higher scores of pain (p for trend=0.03) and breast symptoms (p for trend=0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Our study suggested that the health-related quality of life levels of breast cancer survivors are associated with the adherence to dietary guidelines and may differ by the stage of the breast cancer.

Micro preemies usually undergo arterial catheterization for frequent blood pressure monitoring and blood sampling. Peripheral tissue injury associated arterial catheterization is a well-described morbidity observed in neonates. Despite the potential permanent disability associated with this complication, the currently available therapeutic options remain limited. We report a unique case of a preterm infant who developed severe tissue ischemia after arterial catheterization of the radial artery and was successfully treated using extensive humidification and topical nitroglycerin ointment application over an extended period (36 days) until complete clinical recovery.

BACKGROUND: While 7.6% of cultured genital Mycoplasmataceae was identified as Ureaplasma urealyticum, most of them were Ureaplasma parvum (80.3%). This is the first study differentiating between these two species. We investigated the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance of genital Mycoplasmataceae in Korean women. METHODS: A total of 150 specimens submitted to the laboratory for culture of M. hominis and Ureaplasma spp. were included. Detection and antimicrobial susceptibility tests were performed with the Mycoplasma IST2 kit (bioMérieux, France). The identification of Ureaplasma spp. was performed by PCR, and mutations in drug resistance genes were investigated by PCR and sequencing. RESULTS: In total, 66 specimens (44.0%) were positive for genital Mycoplasmatacea: U. parvum, 53 (80.3%); U. urealyticum, 5 (7.6%); M. hominis, 2 (3.0%); mixed infection, 6 (9.1%). Susceptibilities of Ureaplasma spp. to erythromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin, and doxycycline were 86.0%, 80.7%, 98.2%, and 94.7%, respectively. The susceptibility of Ureaplasma spp. to ofloxacin and ciprofloxacin was 47.4% and 17.5%, respectively. The S83L mutation was found in the ParC subunit of the ofloxacin-resistant (5/7, 71.4%) and the ciprofloxacin-resistant isolates (7/14, 50.0%). One M. hominis isolate showed resistance to erythromycin, azithromycin, and clarithromycin but susceptibility to josamycin, pristinamycin, fluoroquinolones, and tetracyclines. CONCLUSION: The prevalence of genital Mycoplasmataceae in Korean women was 44.0%; most of them were identified as U. parvum. As more than 10% of Ureaplasma spp. showed non-susceptibility to erythromycin and azithromycin (15.5%, 20.7%), a susceptibility test is needed prior to use of these antibiotics. Further study is needed about the clinical features of infections caused by U. urealyticum vs. U. parvum and their associated resistance mechanisms.
