Objective To summarize the contrast enhanced ultrasonographic (CEUS) features of benign focal liver lesions, on and to investigate the value of contrast enhanced ultrasound techniques in the diagnosis of benign focal liver lesion. Methods The contrast enhanced ultrasonographic performance of 68 benign focal liver lesions cases which were dififcult for routine ultrasound diagnosis and conifrmed by pathology or follow-up were retrospectively analyzed. Chi-square test of four-fold table were used to compare the diagnostic coincidence rate of conventional ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound. Results The 68 cases of benign focal liver lesions included complex cysts (n=7), liver hydatids (n=2), liver abscess (n=15), focal nodular hyperplasia (n=8), angiomyolipoma (n=2), hepatocellular adenoma (n=4), focal fat accumulation (n=16), inlfammatory pseudotumor (n=12), solitary necrotic nodule (n=1), intrahepatic biliary cystadenoma (n=1). There were no enhancement among 7 complex cysts, 2 liver hydatids and 1 solitary necrotic nodule. Isoenhancement was detected in focal fat accumulation (n=16);hypoenhancement during the arterial phase and sustained enhancement during the portal or late phase was found in focal nodular hyperplasia (n=8) and angiomyolipoma (n=2). Grid-like enhancements during the arterial phase and isoenhancement or hypoenhancement during the portal phase, and hypoenhancement during the late phase was presented in liver abscess (n=15). Hyperenhancement during the arterial phase were detected in 4 cases of hepatocellular adenoma, 3 of which showed isoenhancement or hyperenhancement during the portal and delayed phase, one case showed hypoenhancement during the portal phase. Eight cases of all the inlfammatory pseudotumor showed no enhancement during all phases;3 cases showing grid enhancement during the arterial phase and the enhancement washed out rapidly;1 case showed mild edge enhancement during the arterial phase and hypoenhancement during the delayed phase. The solid part of the intrahepatic biliary cystadenoma showed hyperenhancement during the arterial phase and hypoenhancement during the portal and late phase. The central area showed no enhancement during all phase. The coincidence rate between pathology and conventional ultrasound diagnosis was 61.8%(42/68). The coincidence rate between pathology and contrast- enhanced ultrasound diagnosis was 92.6%(63/68). The coincidence rate of contrast-enhanced ultrasound diagnostic was higher than that of conventional ultrasound, with a statistically signiifcant difference (χ2=8.17, P < 0.01). Conclusion Real-time gray-scale contrast-enhanced sonography can improve the accuracy of the diagnosis and differential diagnosis for benign focal liver lesions.

Objective To evaluate the effects of TENS on metatarsus plantar flexion and inversion in stroke patients, and to explore its mechanism. Methods Thirty-two stroke patients with gastrocnemius spasticity were randomly divided into a control group (n=16) and a TENS group (n=16).All patients were treated with foot sup- ports, neurodevelopmental and manipulation therapies. In addition, the TENS group received TENS on the anterior tibialis, peroneus longus and brevis muscles. All patients were assessed in terms of their Chinese stroke scale(CSS) and H reflex scores before and after therapy. Results Compared with those in the control group, the H reflex scores in the TENS group were obviously decreased, while H reflex latency was prolonged and H/M was reduced. Gait in the TENS group was evidently improved. Conclusion TENS is an effective therapy to decrease gastrocnemi- us spasticity and to improve the gait of stroke patients.
8.Lin Xue-Jian's experience on treatment of a part of cerebral diseases with scalp acupuncture.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2005;25(10):729-732
LIN Xue-Jian adopts Chinese traditional acupuncture and moxibustion manipulation methods to stimulate the special area of scalp to treat a part of brain-derived diseases, such as infantile cerebral palsy, nerve deafness, cerebellar ataxia, lacunar cerebral infarction, senile dementia, Parkinson's disease, anxiety, insomnia and central constipation, and so on. Scalp acupuncture can improve ability of blood and oxygen supply for general blood vessels; stimulation of corresponding acupoint area according to symptoms and signs can control condition of disease; and can repair, activate and regenerate the injured, dormancy and aging neurons, so as to dredge nerve network in the brain, hence better therapeutic effect.

9.Progress in the studies of acute myelogenous leukemia stem cell.

Journal of Experimental Hematology 2003;11(5):549-552
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) cells are organized in a hierarchical fashion, with only the most primitive rare population (leukemia stem cell, LSC) of AML cells capable of maintaining the leukemic clone. A broad range of studies has indicated that AML results from mutations at the level of the stem cells of AML cells. The changes of cellular and molecular features in these malignant stem cells determine the features of leukemic clone and give rise to different subtypes of AML. LSCs share some similar characteristics with normal hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) including the ability to self-renew, and also have the potential of limited differentiation. LSCs, also have some features that are not found in normal HSC. LSCs have unique phenotype such as CD90-, CD117- and CD123+. Tumor-suppressor protein-death associated protein kinase and interferon regulatory factor 1 were overexpressed in LSCs, but not in normal HSC. Due to a predominantly G0 cell-cycle status, LSCs may not be responsive to conventional chemotherapeutic agents, compared with leukemia blasts. It is proposed that surviving LSCs are a major contributing factor to leukemic relapse. Although LSC population is likely to be drug-resistant, quiescent LSCs are preferentially susceptible to apoptosis induction while sparing normal HSC, with the appropriate stimulus such as proteasome inhibitor MG-132. This article reviewed the data emerging from the study of LSCs, and elucidated the distinct cellular and molecular characteristics of the LSC population, which may shed new light on AML therapy and leukemogenesis study.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2022;57(1):242-250
There are two serious obstacles to tumor immunotherapy. Firstly, the immune response of the tumor is seriously reduced due to immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (ITM) and low immunogenicity of tumor. The second obstacle is the dense and complex heterogeneous structures, which seriously prevent the nanoparticles (NPs) from penetrating deeper into tumor tissue. Immunogenic cell death (ICD) induced by doxorubicin (DOX) is an effective method to enhance tumor immune activity. However, interferon-
