Objective To explore the regularity and characteristics of violence-related injury. Method Data from the injury surveillance in the Emergency Medicine department of Nan-shan hospital was used in this study. Data of all injured patients, who admitied to the emergency department between 1 January 2004 to 31 November 2005, was analysed. Results During the study period, 25376 injured patients were collected and 12280 (48.4%) were violence-related injury patients. The male to female ratio was 2.4: 1. Most of patients were aged 15~44 years old, accouting for 79.9%. The majority of the violence-related patients were wonters, accounting for 59%, most injuries were open wounds and occurred in working places, injuries occurred most during 13 pm to 18 pm. Conclusions Analysis of data from the violence injury surveillance in emergency department can be an aid for the depiction of the overall severe injury profile in area and, in this way, it will be essential for the implementation of properly preventive and controlling measures, despite some limitation. It is urgent to explore and develop an violence injury surveillance system to cope China's milieu.

Flammulin, an anti-tumor protein, was purified from the aqueous extract of basidiomes of Flammulina Velutipes. Purified flammulin emulsified with Freund's adjuvant was injected subcutaneously into New Zealand white rabbits. After several immune enhancements, these animals were bled and sera were separated. Antiserum against flammulin in Western blots were applied to determine if flammulin be present in the liquid state culture or fruiting body. The result showed that anti-flammulin serum could recognize the aqueous extract of fruiting body in SDS-PAGE gels under the reducing conditions, no flammulin was detected in mycelia of Flammulina Velutipes.

Objective To investigate the effects of microRNA(miRNA)on proliferation of cultured human squamous cell carcinoma of tongue Tca8113 cells. Methods The mimics or inhibitors of miRNA-31 or miRNA-139 were transfected into Tca8113 cells using liposome.Tca8113 cell proliferation was detected by 3-(4,5-dimethyhhiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. Results The absorbance (A) values of control group at 24 h,48 h and 72 h were 0.125±0.002,0.169±0.002 and 0.216±0.004.respectively.The mimics of miRNA-31 increased Tca8113 cell proliferation.with A values inereasing to 0.136±0.001(P<0.001).0.186±0.004(P<0.001)and 0.249±0.012(P<0.01),respectively.The inhibitors of miRNA-139 also inereased A values to 0.148±0.002(P<0.001).0.214±0.002(P<0.001)and 0.250±0.009(P<0.01),respectively.Contrast with these results, the inhibitors of miRNA-31 decreased Tca8113 cell proliferation, with A values decreasing to 0.145 4-0.001 and 0.155±0.011 (both of P<0.001) at 48 h and 72 h,respectively. The mimics of miRNA-139 also decreased A to 0.135±0.001 and 0.170±0.009 (both of P<0.001).Conclusions miRNA-31 and miRNA-139 play an important role in the carcinogenesis of human tongue carcinomas. It may become a new method for the treatment of tongue carcinomas by adjustment the activities of miRNA.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the mechanics in correction of skeletal class III malocclusion with Multiloop Edgewise Arch Wire (MEAW).
METHODS15 patients with skeletal class III malocclusion were treated with MEAW technique. Cephalometric analysis was performed with pre-treatment and post-treatment cephalograms. Paired t-test was conducted to assess the treatment effects.
RESULTSL6-XI decreased by 2.87 mm, L6/MP increased by 8.60 degrees, L1-XI decreased by 2.60 mm, OP/MP increased by 2.33 degrees. Skeleton changed a little. There was no significant change in the soft tissue.
CONCLUSION(1) Dento-alveolar compensation is the main change after the treatment by MEAW technique; (2) The improvement in molar relationship and overjet is achieved with upright and distal movement of the lower posterior teeth; (3) The lower anterior teeth moved lingually and protracted. Occlusal plane is flattened.

Autophagy provides protective effects on the maintenance of normal vascular structure and function. However, an overactivation of autophagy contributes to the pathogenesis of hypertension and other vascular diseases. The imbalance of vascular autophagy is involved in the occurrence and development of hypertensive vascular remodeling and injury, which is closely related to abnormal expression or activity of ACE2/Apelin signaling. This review will focus on the latest advancement and regulatory roles of ACE2/Apelin signaling in vascular autophagy and the pathogenesis of hypertension.

Objective To investigate the proliferation rule after autografl vein in autografl of vein and repairing arterial defect, discuss the minuteness structure changes related to time, and provide morphological date for the prevention and treatment of restenosis in clinic application. Methods Sixty canine femoral veins (3.5 cm and 5.5 cm) were excised, reversed and grafted to repairing femoral arterial defect using end- to-end anastomosis.During the period of 30-180 days excised the grafted veins, observed ultrastrural changes of endothelium, microstructural components relative content and patency in grafted veins through angiography, lipht microscope. Results Angiography show that the grafted vein wall get gradually thicker, vascular cavity get slender, and vessel elasticity shrinkage.Light microscope chalrify the ultrastructural changes of endotheh- um,the three lamine structure of grafted vascular wall could not be identified. Conclusion Grafted femoral veins had obviously arteriosclerosis trend after it was transplanted to the arterial system. Two months after the transplantation is the crisis time of the proliferation of the vascular wall. The effect of the proliferation of the grafted veins vascular wall and the impact of the hi-pressure of blood can lead some canine ruptured to die from pseudoaneurysms.

To investigate the influence of HIF-1alpha overexpression on the differentiation of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) ex vivo, EPCs were isolated from human peripheral blood by density gradient centrifugation, overexpressed HIF-1alpha was transfected to EPCs by electroporation; HIF1alpha, HIF1beta, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mRNA level were measured with RT-PCR; HIF-1alpha protein was detected with immunohistochemistry in a time course. CD31(+) cells were measured with flow cytometry. Cell morphology was observed after transfection. The results showed that the transfection efficiency of HIF-1alpha to EPCs was about 20%. HIF-1alpha and its controlled target gene VEGF were markedly induced by HIF-1alpha vector (P < 0.05). HIF1beta had its same level as it before interference (P > 0.05). HIF-1alpha protein was induced by HIF-1alpha transfection after 12 hours but was undetectable at 24 hours. After 7 - 14 days cultured in 21% oxygen pressure, fluorescence-trace experiments revealed that CD31 + EPCs/EC could be generated more efficiently from overexpressed HIF-1alpha than that from pEGFP transfected group (P > 0.05). EPC morphology was observed by light microscopy. HIF-1alpha-transfected cells under normoxia sprouted more rapidly from the EPC colonies than the untransfected cells or cells transfected with an GFP vector, which essentially maintained the original colony formation. HIF-1alpha transfected cells took on an array-like arrangement rather than random dispersal, suggesting that they were in an advanced state of differentiation. It is concluded that the utility of overexpression of HIF-1alpha can induce target genes which have influence on cell differentiation. HIF-1alpha transfection was found to give a prospected way to do the insight research on ischemic treatment in vivo.
