Objective To follow-up the patients with successful posterior segment intraocular foreign body removal. Methods Medical records of consecutive cases with posterior segment intraocular foreign body that were successfully removed between June 2005 and June 2008 were retrospectively reviewed.Twenty-three patients(23 eyes)were included in the series. Results Followed up 3-36 months All the patients underwent pars plana vitrectomy for posterior segment intraocular foreign body removsl,4 patients (4 eyes)experienced rhegmatogenous retinal detachments that were managed with good long-term visual outcomes. Conclusions Rhegmatogenous retinal detachments may occur following successful removal of posterior segment intraocular foreign body in several months after initial management. These rhegmatogenous retinal detachments can be successfully managed with a variety of methods, depending upon the extent and location of the detachments and causative break. Therefore,it is clinically important to perform a long-term follow-up in patients after successful posterior segment intraocular foreign body removal.

AIM: To research how to separate the active component in Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort by high speed counter current chromatography. METHODS: Senkyunolide A and Z-ligustilide,the main components of volatile oil in Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort were one step separated by high speed counter current chromatography. n-hexane-ethyl acetate-ethanol-water,1 ∶ 1 ∶ 1 ∶ 1(v/v),was used as the solvent system for HSCCC. Top phase and bottom phase were respectively used as static phase and mobile phase. Optimum speed and flow rate were 900 r/min and 1. 2 mL/min respectively. RESULTS: Collected fractions were analyzed by HPLC and identified by EI-MS and 1HNMR. Purity could reach more than 95% . CONCLUSION: Lactone is fit to be separated and prepared by high speed counter current chromatography with good resolution and high purity. We find a fast and efficient way to separate these.

Objective To examine the effect of oral external suction on environmental pollution of microorganism in dental clinic. Methods Aerobe was counted na observation index of air contamination and air sample of the area leveal 1m and 2.5 m,hight 1m,which using oral cavity collectors of aspirator or not was collected by the method of sedimentation. Results The datum of the group with oral cavity collectors of aspirator was much lower than the group without it.Conclusion Environmental pollution from tooth treatment in dental clinic can be reduced by using oral extemal suction.

Objective This article aims to explore the role of HSP70 in the developing mechanism of SMDS(sudden manhood death syndrome,SMDS)and to investigate the value of it in the early diagnosis of SMDS.Methods By way of immunohistochemieal staining of left, right ventricular musles, sino atrial node and atrioventricular node from 30 cases of SMDS group and 20 cases of control group,we observed and measured the expression of HSP70 and its variance of intensity with graphical analysis software. Results Compared with the control group cases,in cardiac conduction system tissue of SMDS victims.we saw an obviously higher expression and intensity of HSP70(P<0.05).Conclusion As a kind of mediator in stress reaction,HSP70 is involved in the process of protecting the heart from impairment in SMDS,and it can be considerated as a reference index to identify the SMDS.

Objective This article aims to explore the relationship between PKC and SMDS(sudden manhood death syndrome,SMDS).Methods By way of immunohistochemical staining of left, right ventricular tousles, sino atrial node and atrioventricular node from 30 cases of SMDS group and 20 cases of control group,we observed and measured the expression and the intensity variance of PKC in myocardial ceHs with graphical analysis software. Results The average gray value and total area of PKC in myocardial cells of cases in the SMS group are obviously higher than that of cases in control group(P<0.05).And in the SMDS group, the average gray value of PKC in sino atrial node is higher than that in atrioventricular node. Conclusion As one way of humoral regulation,PKC is involved in the process of protecting the heart from impairment in SMDS.and it can be considerated as a reference index to identify the SMDS.
