Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(07):-
Objective To discuss and analyze the CT appearances and differential diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculomas. Methods 40 cases of pulmonary tuberculomas proved by surgery and pathology were included in the study and compared to 40 cases of peripheral-type bronchogenic carcinomas, which were also surgico-pathologically proved. Results Tuberculomas were most found in the posterior segments of the lung and exhibited well-demarcated lesions of homogeneous density. Some lesions also possessed characteristics like rough spiculation, minute calcification within the lesion and marginal calcification. Thick-walled, thin-walled or stellate cavities were also found. On contrast enhanced scans, tuberculomas showed little or ring enhancement. In addition, satelite lesions or pleural thickening were often found near the tuberculomas. Hilar and mediastinal lymph-nodes were calcified but not enlarged. Anti-tuberbulosis therapy often resulted in little or even no absorption. Conclusion More accurate diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculomas could be made after careful analysis of all CT signs and the clinical data. CT-guided needle biopsy could be used when the dignosis could not be made clearly.

Background and purpose:For stageⅠ non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), video-assisted thoracic segmentectomy is given much attention to by thoracic surgeon because of the less tissue damages. However, video-assisted thoracic lobectomy is still considered as the standard treatment in the world. Therefore, this study was to evaluate the clinical effect after video-assisted thoracic segmentectomy and lobectomy in patients with stageⅠ NSCLC in order to provide reference for clinical application. Methods:The comparative studies on video-assisted thoracic segmentectomy and lobectomy treating stage I NSCLC were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, CNKI, CBM, VIP, and Wanfang Data. All data were acquired until July 2015. Literature screening according to data extraction and quality assessment was completed by two reviewers independently. Meta-analysis was conducted by RevMan 5.3 software which was offered by Cochrane network. Results:A total of 11 articles involving 1 677 patients were ifnally included. The results of meta-analysis indicated that: for stageⅠ NSCLC, compared with video-assisted thoracic lobectomy, the effect of video-assisted thoracic segmentectomy was alike in total mortality (OR=0.77, 95%CI: 0.48 to 1.21,P=0.25), 5-year mortality (OR=0.77, 95%CI: 0.52 to 1.14,P=0.19) and systemic complications (OR=0.76, 95%CI: 0.53 to 1.09,P=0.13), but could reduce blood loss [difference in means (MD)=-41.16, 95%CI: -59.46 to -22.86,P<0.000 1], chest tube duration (MD=-0.29, 95%CI: -0.49 to -0.09,P=0.005) and the length of hospital stay (MD=-0.74, 95%CI: -1.44 to -0.05,P=0.04).Conclusion:Compared with video-assisted thoracic lobectomy, video-assisted thoracic segmentectomy can signiifcantly reduce blood loss, chest tube duration and length of hospital stay. However, the two kinds of operation methods achieved the same effects on the total mortality, 5-year mortality and systemic complications. Thoracoscopic segmentectomy may be an alternative to thoracic lobectomy.

AIM: To elucidate the relationship between childhood asthma susceptibility and clinical efficacy of inhaled glucocorticoids (ICS) in children with different genotypes of asthma by exploring rs776746 and rs15524 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of cytochrome P450 enzyme 3A5 (CYP3A5) gene in asthmatic children and healthy children. METHODS: The CYP3A5 gene rs776746 and rs15524 polymorphic sites were detected in 79 children (Case group) with asthma of Han nationality and 100 healthy children (Control group) who met the inclusion criteria admitted to the Northern Theater General Hospital in Northeast China from October 2016 to October 2020, and genotype, allele and linkage analysis were performed. The case group was given inhaled glucocorticoids by nebulised inhalation for 3 months, and lung function and exhaled breath nitric oxide (FeNO) were measured at entry and after treatment, and asthma control score C-ACT/ACT was done after treatment, so as to compare the prevalence of different genotypes and the differences in the above test index scores. RESULTS: There was complete linkage disequilibrium at rs776746 and rs15524 loci. There were three genotypes of T/T, T/C and C/C at rs776746 locus of CYP3A5 gene. There were significant differences in the frequency of different genotypes between the case group and the control group (χ

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of LRG-1 in clinical specimens and Tca8113 cell line of tongue carcinoma and analyze the relationship between LRG-1 expression and the clinicopathological parameters.
METHODSLRG-1 expression was detected in 40 tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) tissues and paired normal adjacent tissues, 20 atypical hyperplasia tissues of the tongue, and 20 tissues of tongue cancer in situ using immunohistochemical method. The expression of LRG-1 in Tca8113 cell line was detected using flow cytometry. The expression of LRG-1 was also detected in human TSCC tissues and Tca8113 cells with Western blotting. The effect of LRG-1 on the proliferation of HUVECs was determined using MTT assay, and its effect on angiogenesis was evaluated with Matrigel tube formation assays.
RESULTSHuman TSCC tissues had a significantly higher rate of positive expression for LRG-1 (85%, 34/40) than the adjacent tissues (10%, 4/40), invasive tongue cancer (30%, 6/20), and tongue cancer in situ (50%, 10/20) (P<0.05). LRG-1 expression was correlated with the degree of tumor differentiation, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis of the tumor (P<0.05) but not with the patients' age or gender. In the in vitro experiment, LRG-1 promoted HUVEC proliferation and angiogenesis.
CONCLUSIONAbnormal LRG-1 expression is present in the human TSCC tissue and Tca8113 cells. LRG-1 can promote HUVEC proliferation and angiogenesis in vitro, suggesting its possible role in promoting tumor angiogenesis.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common gastrointestinal malignancies with high incidence rate and mortality rate. Human intestinal microbiota play crucial roles in multiple aspects including immune function, digestion and metabolism.Current research literature suggests that there is a significant connection between intestinal dysbacteriosis and colorectal cancer. However,it is not clear how intestinal dysbacteriosis is involved in the initiation, progress and metastasis of colorectal cancer. In this paper, the influence discussed from three aspects.
9.Meta-analysis of clinical efficacy of intraocular lens incarceration in the treatment of pediatric cataract
International Eye Science 2021;21(10):1751-1756
AIM:To systematically compare and evaluate the clinical efficacy of intraocular lens(IOL)incarceration and non-incarceration in pediatric cataract.
METHODS: Literatures were searched from domestic and foreign databases such as PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Wanfang, and CNKI, and the paper editions of relevant journals were consulted as well. The retrieval period of literature was from January 2000 to January 2021. The screened literatures were evaluated and extracted by two experienced researchers. After performing the evaluation guidelines of Cochrane collaboration and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale(NOS), the Rev Man 5.4 software was applicated to complete the Meta-analysis.
RESULTS:Seven references(328 eyes)were involved in this analysis. The results of the Meta-analysis showed that the two groups had statistically significant differences in best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)>0.5 eyes(RR=2.00, 95%CI: 1.18-3.37, P=0.01), IOL shift(RR=0.28, 95%CI: 0.17-0.46, P<0.00001)and mild or above opacification of the visual axis(RR=0.35, 95%CI: 0.19-0.65, P=0.0007)after surgery. However, there was no significant difference in the occurrence of posterior synechia(RR=0.67, 95%CI: 0.10-4.33, P=0.67)and very mild opacification of the visual axis(RR=1.05, 95%CI: 0.64-1.73, P=0.84).
CONCLUSION:IOL incarceration in the treatment of pediatric cataract can significantly improve postoperative BCVA, reduce occurrence of IOL shift and prevent mild or above opacification of the visual axis, which has more advantages in overall clinical efficacy. But more high quality prospective studies should be still required for further analysis.
