Objective To observe the rates of local complications (bleeding/swelling) after trans-radial coronary intervention (TRI),to investigate possible impact factors,in order to provide guidance for the prevention of these adverse events. Methods A total of 198 cases who performed TRI at the department of interventional cardiology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from August to December,2011 were included in the present study.Data with regards to local complications were collected peri-operatively,by means of direct inquiry,point-of-care observation and measurements, and laboratory testing.Patients who developed complications and patients who did not were compared in terms of compressor position, loosening protocol and so on.Variables with statistical significance in univariate analysis were further included in Cox regression.SPSS 18.0 software was applied for all statistical analysis. Results The relative risks (RR) of the following two variables, namely whether or not the midpoint of compressor was on the midline of forearm, and the vertical distance from the horizontal plate of the compressor to the puncture site, were 2.602 and 1.403,respectively.Conclusions The midpoint of compressor on the midline of forearm, and the vertical distance from the horizontal plate of the compressor to the puncture site were major risk factors of local complications after TRI.

Anal fistula is a common disease, surgical treatment is the best option. There are many kinds of surgical treatments for anal fistula, traditional surgical methods, such as fistulotomy and fistulectomy are more thorough in treating internal opening, infection and fistula tract, but the injury to the sphincter is also greater. In recent years, surgery is becoming refined, many scholars pay more and more attention to the protection of anal sphincter, which has derived a series of minimally invasive surgeries, such as Endorectal advancement flap procedure, Ligation of intersphincteric fistula tract, Fistula laser closure procedure, Video-assisted anal fistula treatment, Over-the-scope clip, Endofistular polyurethane-sponge vacuum therapy and biological sphincter preservating procedures. This paper describes the application status and progress of sphincter preserving surgeries by reviewing relevant literature, in order to provide relevant reference for clinical workers, optimize the treatment plan and improve the cure rate.

To prepare the polyclonal antibody against the 3D polymerase of foot and mouth disease virus (FMDV), the 3D polymerase gene of this virus was amplified by PCR and doubly digested with BamH I and Nde I. Then, it were cloned into expression vector pET-30a(+) to obtain the recombinant plasmid pET-3D and this plasmid was transformed to E.coli BL21(DE3) with induction by IPTG.The target protein was identified and purified with SDS+PAGE, and the inclusion bodies were extracted. The purified target protein was used as antigen to immunize New Zealand rabbits to prepare the polyclonal antibody against 3D polymerase of FMDV, which was then characterized by indirect ELISA and Western blotting. As demonstrated by SDS-PAGE, the target protein with a molecular weight at 46 ku was expressed. The polyclonal antibody showed high affinity and obvious specificity and its titer was above 1:8 000. This polyclonal antibody may lay a foundation for the further studies on the biological functions and epitopes of the 3D polymerase of FMDV.

Objective To elucidate the clinical characteristics and prognosis of non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS)patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods SUNDAY(The Strategies for UA/NSTEMI and Delay of AngioplastY Registry)study was a retrospective registry of 1 013 patients with unstable angina or NSTEMI from Jan 2000 through Dec 2002. In this analysis , we compared the clinical features and prognosis with patients with or without metabolic syndrome and studied the relation between the number of markers-the MS score and prognosis. Results There were 743 patients with complete data and 343 patients(46.2%)satisfied the definition of Chinese metabolic syndrome .The latter were younger [(59.66?9.67)age vs. (61.11?10.37)age,P=0.052], with higher BMI ,SBP, DBP, blood glucose and disordered blood-lipid(P0.05) and coronary angiographic alterations(left main artery and trivessel) (P=0.006). Conclusion There were prevenlence in NSTE-ACS patients with metabolize syndrome and the later were younger .As the MS score increased so did obesity, dyslipidemia ,blood pressure, fasting glucose. Similarly, an increasing MS score was significantly related to more severe coronary angiographic alterations and cardiac events.

Objective To investigate the dosimetric effect of same activity and same number of 125I seeds arranged in axial train but with different spacing. Methods A total of 27 film dosimeters were randomly and equally divided into group A,B and C.Each film was irradiated by three 125I seeds (activity of 1.48×107 Bq).The seeds were arranged in line, and their axial spacing was 1 mm,5 mm and 10 mm respectively.Image analysis software was used to draw iso-gray contour curves of 20,25,30 and 40 gray value on the films, and to calculate the areas contained by each curve. Results Multi-sample mean comparison variance analysis showed that the differences in area contained by 20 and 25 iso-gray contour curves were statistically significant between each other among the three groups (P<0.001).The difference in area contained by 30 iso-gray contour curve between group A and group B was not statistically significant (P> 0.05),while the difference in area contained by 30 iso-gray contour curve between group A and group C as well as between group B and group C was statistically significant (P<0.001).No statistically significant difference in area contained by 40 iso-gray contour curve existed between each other among the three groups (P=0.99).Conclusion Different spacing arrangement of same activity and same number of 125I seeds can directly influence the peripheral dose distribution. In specific dose range,seed-spacing of 1 mm arrangement may obtain better dose distribution than seed-spacing of 5 mm or 10 mm arrangement can do.
