Chinese Journal of Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases 2001;9(2):60-61
Objective To investigate the status of self-controlling blood pressure and their hospitalization reasons in primary hypertensive inpatients. Method A cross-sectional survey was performed in 206 patients with primary hypertension in the hospital. Results The 58 patients did not know that they previously suffered from hypertension. They had to be in the hospital as stroke or cardiovascular disease. Those who had measures of self-controlling blood pressure were taken a proportion of 59.22%. The proportion of those who regularly took drugs was only 10.68%. The regular checking rate of blood pressures was 12.14%. Because there was not any or irregular measures, it was increased that the hypertensive patients with stroke or cardiovascular disease in the hospital. Conclusion It is one of the major factors for increasing patients with hypertension in the hospital that lacking the know-ledge which is relevant to prevention and treatment of hypertension. The results indicated that medical staff on non-communicative diseases prevention should educate the hypertensive patients, enhance self-protecting awareness and encourage them to cultivate health lifestyles and simultaneously take comprehensive prevention and treatment measure on hypertension. These suggest it be also necessary to carry out health education in border town especially in rural area and minority nationality regions.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: This study aimed to investigate the microRNA (miRNA) expression profiles in peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-infected patients with different clinical manifestations and to analyze the function of miR-197. METHODS: PBMC miRNA expression profiles in 51 healthy controls, 70 chronic asymptomatic carriers, 107 chronic hepatitis B patients, and 76 HBV-related acute on chronic liver failure patients were analyzed by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). miR-197 mimic and inhibitor were transfected in THP-1 cells. qRT-PCR and ELISA for interleukin (IL)-18 mRNA and protein levels were performed, respectively. RESULTS: The microarray analysis revealed that 17 PBMC miRNA expression profiles (12 miRNAs downregulated and five miRNAs upregulated) differed significantly in HBV-induced liver disease patients presenting with various symptoms. The qRT-PCR results suggested that the PBMC miR-197 levels regularly decreased as the severity of liver disease symptoms became aggravated. IL-18, a key regulator in inflammation and immunity, was inversely correlated with miR-197 levels. Bioinformatic analysis indicated that IL-18 was a target of miR-197. Exogenous expression of miR-197 could significantly repress IL-18 expression at both the mRNA and protein levels in THP-1 cells. CONCLUSIONS: We concluded that multiple PBMC miRNAs had differential expression profiles during HBV infection and that miR-197 may play an important role in the reactivation of liver inflammation by targeting IL-18.

OBJECTIVE To prepare apigenin silk fibroin(API@SF)nanoparticles and to evaluate their safety and anti-tumor activity. METHODS API@SF nanoparticles were prepared by nanoprecipitation method ,and their morphology ,particle size ,Zeta potential, drug loading amount and in vitro release were characterized. The safety of nanoparticles was evaluated by hemolysis test and HE staining. MTT assay was adopted to evaluate inhibitory effects of API@SF nanoparticles on breast cancer 4T1 cells in mice. RESULTS The prepared API@SF nanoparticles were spherical with uniform distribution. The average particle size was 406.61 nm, the polydispersity index was 0.154,the Zeta potential was -18.4 mV,and the average drug-loading amount was 5.20%. The in vitro release results showed that the release rate of the nanoparticles was relatively fast in the release medium of pH 5.0 and relatively slow in the release medium of pH 7.4. Results of hemolysis test and HE staining showed that the nanoparticles had good biocompatibility. Results of MTT assay showed that the inhibitory effect of API@SF nanoparticles on 4T1 cells was significantly higher than that of API raw materials (P<0.05),and its mechanism may be related to increasing the level of reactive oxygen species in cells. CONCLUSIONS API@SF nanoparticles are prepared successfully ,which possess good safety and anti-tumor activity.

Objective:To understand the results of blind evaluation of dissertation of three-year doctors and eight-year medical doctors, and to explore the improvement measures of eight-year program education. Methods:The data analysis method was manipulated. A total of 47 eight-year doctoral and 88 three-year doctoral dissertations submitted by the first clinical college of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2020 were selected as the research material. SPSS 17.0 was used to perform Chi-square test to compare the itemized evaluation opinions of the dissertation, Spearman test was used to analyze the correlation between the defense opinions, itemized evaluation opinions and the overall evaluation. Results:The gap between eight-year and three-year doctoral dissertation is mainly manifested in innovation and research value ( χ2=9.10, P=0.003), topic and review ( χ2=5.70, P=0.017), while there is no significant difference in the overall assessment and oral defense suggestion. The main influencing factor of dissertation defense suggestion for both doctors was the dissertation standardization (eight-year: r s=0.53, P<0.001; three-year: r s=0.45, P<0.001). The evaluation results of eight-year doctor dissertation were closely related to basic knowledge and scientific research ability ( r s=0.74, P<0.001). Conclusion:There is no significant difference between eight-year doctors and full-time doctors in research attitude. But there was a certain gap in scientific research and innovation ability among them. It is suggested to clarify the teaching objectives, formulate and refine the evaluation system of dissertations, and strengthen the cultivation of scientific research interest and academic belief of eight-year study program.
