Objective To investigate the correlation between the coagulation function and fibrinolytic activity with deep venous thrombosis (DVT) after traumatic fracture operation.Methods One hundred and thirty-four cases of traumatic fracture from April 2010 to May 2014 were divided into the DVT group(24 cases) and non-DVT group,and at the same time 110 healthy people were selected as the control group.The venous blood at different time points was collected for observing the levels change of prothrombin time (PT),activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT),fibrinogen (FIB),platelet aggregation rate (PAgT),dipolymer (D-D),thrombin antithrombin complex (TAT),plasminogen activity (PIg) by using appropriate methods.Results There was no difference in APTT and PT groups among the groups(P>0.05).Preoperative FIB,PAgT,D-D and TAT levels was the DVT group >non-DVT group > control group,while the level of PIg was the DVT group0.05).Conclusion The increase of D-D and TAT is closely related with DVT in traumatic fracture and,which is an independent risk factor.

Objective: To screen the extraction process of volatile oil in Supplemented Xanthium Powder.Methods: The main compositions of volatile oil contained by every herb in prescription were followed up by GC MS. Results: The extraction process of volatile oil in Supplemented Xanthium Powder was established, that is, Flos Magnoliae and Cortex Moutan Radicis were powdered, their volatile oils were extracted with Herba Menthae together by the steam distillation; then 13 fold first fraction of distillata and 3 fold redistillation liquid were collected respectively; the volatile oil of Rhizoma Liqustici Chuanxiong was extracted with alcohol. Inasmuch as Fructus Xanthii and Radix Angelicae Dahuricae contained less volatile oil, at the same time, to avoide that Fructus Xanthii produced toxicity by water extraction and coumarinic lactones of Radix Angelicae Dahuricae was destroyed their oils were considered unfit for extraction. Conclusion: GC MS is a useful way for follow up optimization of the extraction process of volatile oil in compound prescription of Chinese medicinal and worthy of popularization.

Objective To analyze the genotype of varicella-zoster virus (VZV) strains isolated from patients with chickenpox or zoster and to differentiate them from Oka vaccine strain by molecular analysis. Methods In the present study, single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP) based VZV genotypes were analyzed in 19 VZV isolates using the polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphisms analysis of DNA fragments of the open reading frames 38, 54, 62, and the 1t5 repeat region. Results The genotypes of 19 VZV isolates including two different groups with 52.7% of Pst Ⅰ+ Bgl Ⅰ+ R5A and 47.3% of Pst Ⅰ+ Bgl Ⅰ+ R5B, which is very different from those found in North America, Europe and Japan. All the Chinese isolates are wild-type strains with ORF62 Sma Ⅰ-. No Oka vaccine strains were revealed among the isolates. Conclusion Chinese VZV strains reported in this study showed different molecular characteristics from those circulating in Europe, North America and Japan. The SNPs in ORF62 and ORF38 may be used to distinguish VZV wild-type strains and vaccine strain in clinical isolates in China.

Objective To explore the adiponectin expression in the chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients and compare the level of edipanectin before and after antiviral therapy, and investigate the relationship between ediponectin and CHB. Methods Serum adiponectin was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the expression of adipanectin in liver tissue was detected by palymerase chain reaction (PCR) and immunohistochemistry. The liver functions and HBV DNA were also tested. Liver biopsy tissue was assessed by fibrosis stage. Results Serum adipanectin in CHB liver cirrhosis [(20.65 ± 1.29) mg/L]was higher than that in other stage fibrosis, the values were (8.57 ± 0.28 ), (12.22 ± 0.64), (15.22 ± 0.77 ) mg/L (P< 0.01 ). Serum adiponectin was positively associated with fibrosis stage(r = 0.976,P< 0.01 ). There was no significant difference between HBV DNA and ALT (P> 0.05 ). Serum adipanectiu was independently associated with liver cirrhosis (r = 1.07, P = 0.02, 95% CI = 1.00-l.14).At the end of antiviral therapy,the expressions of adiponectin declined in patients with improved fibrosis and sustained viral response. Conclusion Serum adiponectin may play a role in CHB fibrosis, and reduced adipanectin level is associated with improved fibrosis after antivital therapy.

AIM:To investigate the change of short-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (SCAD) expression during cardiomyocyte apoptosis and to explore the relationship between SCAD and cardiomyocyte apoptosis .METHODS: The neonatal rat cardiomyocytes treated by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (tBHP) were used as the model of cardiomyocyte apoptosis . The cell viability , the expression of SCAD at mRNA and protein levels , the activity of SCAD and the content of free fatty acids were determined .RESULTS:The mRNA and protein expression of SCAD decreased in the cardiomyocyte apoptosis model.Compared with negative control group , SCAD expression and activity were both significantly decreased in siRNA-1186 group, but the content of free fatty acids were obviously increased in the cardiomyocytes .Meanwhile, SCAD siRNA treatment triggered the same apoptosis as cardiomyocytes treated with tBHP .CONCLUSION: Down-regulation of SCAD may play an important role in primary cardiomyocyte apoptosis .Increase in the expression of SCAD may become an impor-tant part in intervening cardiomyocyte apoptosis .

Objective To explore the application value of preoperative methylene blue staining in locating for the operation of intraspi-nal tumors. Methods The clinical data of patients with intraspinal tumors from September 2010 to September 2012 in our hospital were ret-rospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into tag group and control group according to whether stained by methylene blue or not. The operation time( min) ,intraoperative hemorrhage,the rate of total resection of tumor,spinal instability rate,tumor recurrence rate,and reopera-tion rate of two groups were compared. Results The operation time of tag group was significantly shorter than that of the control group. The amount of intraoperative bleeding was significantly less than that of in control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0. 05). The total resection rate of tumor was significantly higher than that in control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0. 05). The spinal instability rate,tumor recurrence rate and operation rate of patients within 1 year in two groups were not significant. Conclusion The methylene blue method is simple and convenient,and provides favorable conditions for the operation,which reduces the operation time and intraoperative hemorrhage,increases the rate of complete tumor resection. There was no difference in recurrence rate,operation rate and the stability of the spine within 1 year compared to traditional method.

[ABSTRACT]AIM:ToinvestigatethedifferenteffectsofERK1/2/PPARα/SCAD(short-chainacyl-CoAdehy-drogenase) signal pathways on the cardiac hypertrophy induced by insulin-like growth factors 1 ( IGF-1) or phenylephrine ( PE) .METHODS:The neonatal rat cardiomyocytes induced by IGF-1 were used as the model of physiological cardiac hypertrophy , and those induced by PE were used as the model of pathological cardiac hypertrophy .The surface area of the cardiomyocytes, the expression of p-ERK1/2, PPARαand SCAD, the activity of SCAD and the content of free fatty acid in the cardiomyocytes were measured .RESULTS:Compared with the control cells , the surface area of the cardiomyocytes in-duced by IGF-1 and PE were both increased .Compared with the controls , the expression of SCAD and PPARα, and the activity of SCAD in the cardiomyocytes induced by IGF-1 were increased , while the expression of p-ERK1/2 was de-creased.However, the cardiomyocytes treated with PE showed decreased expression of SCAD and PPARα, decreased activ-ity of SCAD and increased expression of p-ERK1/2.Meanwhile, the decrease in free fatty acid in IGF-1-induced cardio-myocytes and the increase in PE-induced cardiomyocytes indicated that the fatty acid utilization was increased in the cardio -myocytes induced by IGF-1, but decreased in the cardiomyocytes induced by PE .CONCLUSION: The changes of p-ERK1/2, PPARαand SCAD in the cardiac hypertrophy induced by IGF-1 or PE indicate that the effects of ERK 1/2/PPARα/SCAD signal pathways are different between physiological cardiac hypertrophy and pathological cardiac hypertro -phy , and that SCAD may be a molecular marker of these 2 different cardiac hypertrophies and a potential therapeutic target for pathological cardiac hypertrophy .

Objective To explore the effect of self-made venous compressor on hemostasis after withdrawing femoral vein catheter in patients with liver failure.Methods 200 patients with liver failure undergoing femoral venous intubation were divided randomly into observation group and control group in equal number.Hemostasis was performed after withdrawing the catheter using the self-made venous compressor and bandage combined with pressure dressing in the former and latter group respectively.The two groups were compared in terms of the complication rate,time for hemostasis manipulation and time limb immobilization.Results The rate of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group.The time for hemostasis manipulation and time for limb immobilization in the observation group were both significantly shorter than those of the control group(P<0.01). Conclusion Performance of hemostasis using self-made venous compressor may lower the rate of complication from withdrawing femoral vein catheter and shorten the time for hemostasis manipulation and the time for limb immobilization.

Objective To evaluate the value of renal parenchymal volume and thickness by non-contrast spiral CT in evaluating the differential glomerular filtration rate (GFR) for chronic obstructed kidneys, and to compare the correlations between the two morphologic indices of renal parenchyma and the GFR for chronic obstructed kidneys. Methods Seventy-one patients who had a diagnosis of unilateral chronic upper urinary tract obstruction were included in this analysis. (1) The renal parenchymal volume was mea-sured by non-contrast spiral CT. Both kidneys were scanned by non-contrast spiral CT. The renal parenchymal area of each section was marked manually. Renal parenchymal volume was calculated as the sum of renal parenchymal area multiplied by the width of each section. The volume percentage of obstructed kidney (%CTvol) was also calculated. (2) Renal parenchymal thickness was measured on the first and last non-contrast CT image levels from the anterior, posterior and lateral locations of the kidney that clearly contained the collecting system. The mean of these measurements was defined as the renal parenchymal thickness. The differential renal parenchymal thickness of the obstructed kidney (%CTt) was defined as the percentage of the obstructed renal parenchymal thickness to the total renal parenchymal thickness for both kidneys. GFR was determined with 99Tcm-DTPA dynamic imaging system by Gates method. The differential GFR for obstructed kidney (%GFR) was the GFR percentage of obstructed kidney to the total GFR for both kidneys. The Pearson relation test was carried out between the %CTvol, %CTt and the %GFR respectively. Results %CTvol and %CTt correlated well with %GFR in chronic obstructed kidneys among the 71 test group patients. Pearson correlation coefficient r was 0.80 (t=11.20, P＜0.05) and 0.66 (t=7.24, P＜0.05), respectively. The linear correlation equation respectively was %GFR=0.05+0.80×%CTvol (F=125.48, P＜0.05) and %GFR=0.12+0.66×%CTt (F=52.36, P＜0.05). Conclusions Renal parenchymal volume and thickness by non-contrast spiral CT might be used as clinical practical parameters to evaluate the differential GFR for chronic obstructed kidneys. Renal parenchymal volume is more accurate than renal parenchymal thickness.
