Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(02):-
The activity of colony stimulating factor ( CSF) in the conditioned medium ( CM ) was studied with combination method of 3H-TdR incorporation assay and agar colony assay. These two assays were demonstrated to be replaceable each other. The mice were administered with nontoxic monophosphoryl lipid A(MPLA) which was derived from a Re mutant of Salmonnella Minnesota Re595. The results showed a significant elevation of CSF in the serum and reaching the top at 12th h and returning to normal by 24th h. There is a significant dose-resoonse relationship. The CSF was induced with accompany of formation of colony inhibiting factor (GIF), some of which were heat sensitive factors. It is suggested that the MPLA may be a potent CSF-inducer.

Recently, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) appear to be a multi-organ disorder, however, the involvement of myocardium in NMOSD is extremely rare. In the present article, we present a young girl who manifested bilateral optic neuritis, area postrema syndrome, brainstem syndrome and transverse myelitis, as well as tachycardia, abnormal electrocardiograph, moderate elevation of myocardial biomarker and regional wall movement abnormalities, which confirmed the diagnosis of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy associated with NMOSD. The neurological deficits along with myocardial injury were recovered soon after the administration of intravenous methylprednisolone and intravenous immunogloblin. This is a rare case that should be paid attention and by which can not only broaden the symptom spectrum of NMOSD, but can also provide novel visions for further investigating the mechanism of organs damage.

OBJECTIVETo study the expression and significance of tumor suppressor in lung cancer 1 (TSLC1) gene methylation, the expression of TSLC1 protein in cervix cancer and precancerous lesions as well as their relationship with HR-HPV DNA infection.
METHODSThe clinicopathological data of 92 cases of different cervical lesions during March 2011 to August 2012 treated in our hospital were collected. There were pathologically confirmed 10 cases of normal cervix, 26 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) I, 20 cases of CIN II, 15 cases of CIN III, and 21 cases of cervical cancer. Methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP) was used to detect the TSLC1 gene methylation status in cervical lesions, immunohistochemistry (SP) was used to detect the expressions of TSLC1 protein in cervical lesions, and the second generation hybrid capture (HC2) method was used to detect the high-risk HPV in cervical lesions.
RESULTSThe expression rate of TSLC1 gene methylation in normal cervical tissue, CIN I, CIN II, CIN III and SCC were 10.0%, 30.8%, 55.0%, 60.0%, 66.7%, respectively, showing a statistically significant difference (P = 0.004). The positive expression rate of TSLC1 protein in normal cervical tissue, CIN I, CIN II, CIN III and SCC were 100.0%, 80.8%, 65.0%, 33.3%, and 23.8%, respectively, with a significant difference (P = 0.004). In the progression from CIN to invasive cervical cancer, there was no significant correlation between TSLC1 gene methylation and HR-HPV DNA infection (P = 0.919), TSLC1 protein expression and HR-HPV DNA infection (P = 0.664). The correlation analysis showed a negative correlation between TSLC1 gene methylation and TSLC1 protein expression (r = -0.674, P < 0.001).
CONCLUSIONSTSLC1 gene promoter methylation may be an early event in the cervical carcinogenesis, become an early sensitive marker, and serve the early prevention and prognostic prediction for cervical cancer.

Objective To study the epidemiological features of hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) in Minhang District of Shanghai and to explore the possible effects of meteorological factors on the onset of HFMD, aiming to provide a reference for the prevention and control of HFMD. Methods The incidence data of HFMD in Minhang District from 2014 to 2018 were collected for descriptive analysis. The data of meteorological factors that might affect HFMD were analyzed by Pearson analysis and multiple linear stepwise regression. Results The average incidence rate of HFMD in Minhang District from 2014 to 2018 was 271.51 per 100 000. The incidence of Huacao, Pujiang and Maqiao community were the highest. The incidence of HFMD in males was higher than in females and the 0‒5 age group had the largest number of cases, mainly in scattered children and children in kindergartens. The results of multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that the incidence of HFMD was negatively correlated with the weekly average air pressure ( b =-4.32, P =0.004), and was positively correlated with the weekly minimum temperature ( b =2.62, P =0.040) and the weekly average relative humidity ( b =1.71, P =0.010). The correlation with weekly average temperature, weekly maximum temperature, weekly precipitation, weekly average air pressure and weekly average water vapor pressure was not significant. Conclusion Meteorological factors in Minhang District of Shanghai are closely related to the occurrence of HFMD. Comprehensive measures should be taken to prevent and control HFMD.

ObjectiveTo explore the exposure-lag-response relationship between temperature and risk of varicella incidence, and to provide a scientific evidence for early warning and precise prevention and control of varicella epidemic. MethodsDaily varicella cases and daily meteorological data were collected in Minhang District, Shanghai from 2010 to 2022. A distributed lag nonlinear model was used to determine the exposure-lag-response relationship between temperature and risk of varicella incidence. Furthermore, effect of temperature on the incidence risk was determined across different age groups. ResultsIn 2010‒2022, the total number of notified varicella cases was 26 207 in Minhang District, with the highest incidence in the group aged 3‒14 years (50.35%). The seasonal pattern of daily varicella cases showed a double peak. The large peak was found in November and December, followed by a smaller peak in May and June. Moreover, the distributed lag nonlinear model showed a unimodal curve in the relationship between temperature and varicella incidence. The RR value reached its maximum peak of 1.90 (95%CI: 1.25‒2.87) at 7 ℃. A reverse U-shape was found in the lag-response curves between temperature and varicella incidence. Furthermore, the effect of temperature on the varicella incidence showed a unimodal pattern in the varicella cases aged 3‒14 years. The RR value reached its peak at 11 ℃ (RR=2.89, 95%CI: 1.33‒6.24). In contrast, the effect of temperature on the varicella incidence in the cases aged 15 years and above showed a unimodal pattern, with RR value reaching the peak at 5 ℃ (RR=2.14, 95%CI: 1.33‒3.44). ConclusionThe unimodal curve is found in the relationship between temperature and varicella incidence. Low temperature is associated with increased risk of varicella incidence. Children aged 3‒14 years are more susceptible to the effect of temperature on the varicella incidence.
