1.Research progress of flavivirus vaccines based on adenovirus vector
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;35(8):677-681
There are more than 70 species of flaviviruses, including Zika virus, Dengue virus and Japanese encephalitis virus, and more than 33 species are known to be capable of infecting humans. Only three flavivirus vaccines have been approved, and there is a lack of safe and effective vaccines for most flaviviruses. Adenovirus-vectored vaccines have high safety, low cost, and convenience to store and transport. Currently, two adenovirus-vectored Zika vaccines are under early clinical trials, and adenovirus-vectored vaccines for Dengue virus, Japanese encephalitis virus, West Nile virus and yellow fever virus are still in the phase of animal experiment. In the development of adenovirus-vectored flavivirus vaccines, there are still problems of pre-existing immunity to adenovirus, the insufficient immunogenicity of adenovirus vectors and the antibody-dependent enhancement effects among flavivirus. Based on relevant publications from January 2006 to June 2023, this article reviews the current status, challenges and solutions of the research into adenovirus-vectored flavivirus vaccines, so as to provide the reference for the development of relevant vaccines.

Objective To characterize the manifestations of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in nervous system with in-flammation-like presentation. Methods We reviewed clinical and laboratory data obtained from 3 cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in nervous system with inflammation-like presentation. Those data include clinical manifestations,CSF examina-tions neuroimaging, pathology of biopsies, treatment and prognosis. Results The clinical manifestations of NHL in nervous system were variable and the findings of cerebrospinal fluid and imaging were not characteristic.Parital relief of symptoms by steroid cortisone could be achieved in some cases which maght further increased the difficulty in differentiating NHL from CNS inflammation.Several signs including no evidence of CNS inflammation, multiple organ involyements, especially the organ involvements outside CNS,and deterioration after a transient relief of symptoms by steroid cortisone, strongly suggest the possibility of NHL.Condusions We should increase physicians'awareness to NHL to reduce the misdiagnosis even though the final diagnosis relies on pathological examination.

Objective In this article we report our methods and effects of CT-guided bone biopsy in extremities. Methods 50 patients with extremital bone lesion were candidates for CT-guided biopsy. Two or more procedures were routinely performed in each case.Ackmann drill was used for 13 patients with sclerotic lesions.Temno core needle was used for 42 cases.Fine needle aspiration was combined for 12 patients with cystic or obviously liquefied lesions. Results In the 50 cases,a diagnosis was possible in 88%(44/50).The six unsatisfactory results were from sclerotic lesions(n=3),liquefied lesions(n=2) and mixed lesion(n=1).50cases were divided into primary malignant tumors(n=23),primary benign tumors and tumor-like lesions(n=12),metastatic tumors(n=8),and bone inflammations (n=7).Their diagnostic accuracies of CT-guided biopsy were 91%,83%,100% and 71% separately. No severe complications were observed in our series. Conclusion CT-guided extremital bone biopsy is a safe, accurate and effective method.Bone drill, needle core and fine needle aspiration should be slected according to the type of bone lesions. In order to increasing its accuracy, the operator should avoid necrotic areas and select more then one point to get samples. One modality can be performed concomitantly with other one in the evaluation of bone lesions, since the three modalities are complementary.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(03):-
Polysaccharide from Lao Shan Polystictus versicolor possesses a significant inhibitory effect on transplanted S180 in ICR mice, and the inhibition rate after intraperitoneal injection of 10 mg/kg of the drug was 60-70%. Oral administration in certain dosage could also inhibit tumor growth.Polysaccharide was given intraperitoneally one week before the transplantation of ascitic sarcoma S180 It showed that the polysaccharide could prevent the growth of ascitic S180 effectively and prolong the life span of the mice. Peritoneal injection of the polysaccharide could enhance the capacity of macrophages to release H2O2 and of the spleenic lymphocytes to take 3H-TdR. It has been demonstrated that polysaccharied from Lao Shan Polystictus versicolor was not cytotoxic, and its anticarcinogenic effect was host mediated.

AIM: To investigate the effects of Src family kinases (SFKs) on adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP)-induced long-term potentiation (LTP) in the spinal dorsal horn. METHODS: Male Sprague-Dawley rats (250-280 g) were used in the experiments. Western blotting, electrophysiological recording in spinal dorsal horn in vivo and immunohistochemistry were used in the study. The C-fiber-evoked field potentials were recorded at the superficial layers of spinal dorsal horn at the lumbar enlargement and the phosphorylation level and location of SFKs in spinal dorsal horn were examined by Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: Thirty min and 60 min after ATP application, the levels of phosphorylated SFKs (p-SFKs) were significantly increased. The p-SFKs were expressed in microglia, but not in astrocytes or neurons. Spinal application of SFK inhibitors prevented ATP-induced LTP. CONCLUSION: Microglial SFKs may play an important role in ATP-induced LTP of C-fiber evoked field potentials in the spinal dorsal horn.

Objective To investigate the effect of pre- hospital emergency care programs in children with febrile seizures,in order to reduce damage by febrile seizures and obtain the best firstaid effect. Methods 112 cases of children with febrile seizures were treated in pediatric department of our hospital from April 2009 to February 2011.The parents of 75 children patients were given guidance of prehospital emergency care, they were set as the pre-hospital emergency care group. The other 37 cases were set as the non-pre-hospital emergency care group, routine emergency care was given until the medical personnel arrived at the spot. The conditions of aspiration, tongue bite injury, another episode of febrile seizures and brain damage were recorded in two groups of children. Results Only one case of aspiration and three cases of febrile seizures occurred in the pre-hospital emergency care group by misoperation of parents.Non brain damage and tongue bite injury occurred. The incidence rate of improper consequences was 5.3%in the pre-hospital emergency care group, lower than that of the non-pre-hospital emergency care group,51.4%. Conclusions To give pre-hospital emergency care guidance to parents of children patients by mobile phones before the health care workers reach the spot can significantly reduce accidental injury of children, stabilize the emotion of parents, decrease the impact of seizures on children, all the above has a positive effect on follow-up treatment.
