Objective To evaluate dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) with Patlak model for depicting the perfusion and permeability characteristics of lesions and normal-appearing white matter (NAWM) regions in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Methods Twenty-three patients with clinical confirmed RRMS were retrospectively analyzed, who had underwent conventional MRI and DCE-MRI using a 3.0 T MR scanner . The clinical characteristics and imaging data were collected. Post-processing was performed using the Patlak model. Volume transfer constant (Ktrans), fractional plasma volume (Vp) and perfusion parameters including cerebral blood flow (CBF) and cerebral blood volume (CBV) were represented as median and interquartile range(IQR). The four parameters of non-enhanced(NE) lesions, NAWM regions located close to NE lesions(NAWM close) and NAWM regions located far from NE lesions (NAWM far) were compared using the Kruskal-Wallis H rank sum test. Artificial color mappings were also proceeded. Results MR imaging biomarkers Ktrans was 0.132(0.064, 0.233) min-1 for NE lesions, 0.111 (0.060, 0.233) min-1 for NAWM close and 0.077(0.044, 0.185) min-1 for NAWM far, respectively. CBV was 10.660(5.555, 22.193) ml · 100 g-1 for NE lesions, 9.359(4.883, 16.290) ml · 100 g-1 for NAWM close, 6.814 (4.699, 13.623) ml·100 g-1 for NAWM far, respectively. Ktrans and CBV of NE lesions was significantly higher than that of NAWM far(χ2=7.582,P<0.05;χ2=6.394,P<0.05, respectively). Ktrans and CBV of NAWM close showed no significant differences compared with NE lesions and NAWM far. Vp and CBF had no significant differences between NE lesions, NAWM close and NAWM far regions(P>0.05). Conclusion DCE-MRI with Patlak model can measure perfusion and permeability characteristics and hemodynamic abnormalities of NE lesions and NAWM regions in patients with multiple sclerosis.

Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences 2021;8(4):327-335
Background:As one of the most popular traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) for the treatment of various liver diseases, virgate wormwood herb (Artemisia capillaris Thunb.) has a long application history in TCM practices. It has been well established that the chemical composition is responsible for the pronounced therapeutic spectrum of A.capillaris.Although they are comprehensive, the time-intensive liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) assays cannot fully satisfy the analytical measurement workload from many test samples.Direct infusion-MS/MS (DI-MS/MS) may be the optimal choice to achieve high-throughput analysis if the mass spectrometer can universally record MS2 spectra. Methods:According to the application of gas phase ion fractionation concept, the MS/MSALL program enables to gain MS2 spectrum for each nominal m/z value with a data-independent acquisition algorithm via segmenting the entire MS1 ion cohort into sequential ion pieces with 1 Da width, when sufficient measurement time is allowed by DI approach. Here, rapid clarification of the chemical composition was attempted for A.capillaris using DI-MS/MSALL.A.capillaris extract was imported directly into the elec-trospray ionization interface to obtain the MS/MSALL measurement. After the MS1-MS2 dataset was well organized,we focused on structural characterization through retrieving information from the available databases and literature.Results:Twenty-six compounds were found, including 12 caffeoyl quinic acid derivatives,7 flavonoids, and 7 compounds belonging to other chemical families.Among them,24 ones were structurally iden-tified.Compared with the LC-MS/MS technique,DI-MS/MSALL has the advantages of low-costing,solvent-saving,and time-saving.Conclusions:Chemical profiling of A.capillaris extract was accomplished within 5 min by DI-MS/MSALL,and this technique can be an alternative choice for chemical profile characterization of TCMs due to its extraordinary high-throughput advantage.

Objective To understand the status quo of self-concept clarity and professional life quality of male nurses, and to analyze the influence of self-concept clarity on professional life quality of male nurses. Methods In August 2017, a total of 251 male nurses from six Class Ⅲ hospitals in Zhejiang Province were selected by convenience sampling method. Self-Concept Clarity Scale and the Chinese version of Professional Quality of Life Scale Version 5 were applied in the investigation. A total of 251 questionnaires were distributed and 235 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective recovery rate of 93.63%.Results The score of Self-Concept Clarity Scale and the Chinese version of Professional Quality of Life Scale Version 5 was (31.47±6.95) and (91.82±16.95) respectively in the 235 male nurses. There was a positive correlation between the two (r=0.324,P<0.05). Hierarchical regression analysis showed that working years, monthly income and self-concept clarity were the influencing factors of professional life quality of male nurses. Conclusions The level of self-concept clarity and professional quality of life among male nurses is at a moderate level. Self concept clarity is an important factor affecting the quality of professional life. It is necessary to strengthen the guidance of public opinion and increase the media publicity of male nurses so as to promote the acceptance and acceptance of male nurses and increase their job stability through social and family perspectives.
