1.Cost-effectiveness Analysis of Six Therapeutic Schemes for Upper Urinary Tract Infections

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the economic effectiveness of different pharmacotherapeutic schemes for the same disease.METHODS: Using pharmacoeconomical cost-effectiveness analysis, six schemes for upper urinary tract infections were compared.RESULTS: The total effective rate and cost were both the lowest in group B(70.00% ).The cost-effectiveness ratios of A, B, C, D, E, F were 28.60、 19.13、 43.27、 29.99、 43.02、 29.14, respectively.They became 23.65、 18.01、 34.00、 24.87、 33.91、 24.20 by sensitivity.CONCLUSION: The A and F were both the most inexpensive and effective schemes.
2.Expression of HDC and H~+,K~+-ATPase in gastric mucosa during healing of experimental gastric ulcer in rats

Objective To investigate the expression changes of histidine decarboxylase(HDC)and H+,K+-ATPase in gastric mucosa during the healing of experimental gastric ulcer in rats.Methods The ulcers were caused by applying acetic acid to the serosal surface of the anterior face of the rat gastric body.At different time points during ulcer healing,HDC and H+,K+-ATPase mRNA and protein expressions were studied by using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and Western blot respectively.Results An ulcer crater developed on the anterior face of the gastric body on day 1 after the induction of ulcers,and the ulcer area was biggest on day 3.On day 12,most of the gastric ulcers had healed.Compared with the control group,the HDC and H+,K+-ATPase mRNA expression in the gastric mucosa of ulcer rats showed a decrease on day 1,and increased back to initial level on day 9.The protein expression of HDC and H+,K+-ATPase in gastric mucosa of ulcer rats decreased immediately on day 1,more on day 6,and returned to the initial levels on day 12.Conclusion The mRNA and protein expressions of HDC and H+,K+-ATPase decrease in the healing process of gastric ulcers,resulting in accelerated ulcer healing through inhibiting gastric acid secretion.
3.Modulation of vagal activity to atria electrical remodeling resulted from rapid atrial pacing

Background Atrial electrical remodeling(AER)plays an important role in the pathogenesis and maintenance of atrialfibrillation.However,little is known about modulation of vagal activilty to AER.This study aimed to investigate the relationshipbetween vagal moduation and AER. Methods Twenty four adult mongrel dogs under general anesthesia were randomized into 3groups.Sympathetic activity was blocked by administration of metoprolol in 3 groups.The changes in vagal modulation to atria afterAER were observed in 10 dogs without vagal interruption in group A.The effects of vagal intervention on AER were investigated in 8dogs with administration of atropine in group B.The impact of aggressively vagal activity on AER was studied in 6 dogs with bilateralcervical vag sympathetic trunLks stimulation during AER in group C.Bilateral cervicall vagosympathetic trunks were decentralized.Multipolar catheters wereplaced into high right atria(RA),coronary sinus(CS)and rightventricle(RV).AER was induced by 600 bpmpacing through RA catheter for 30 minutes.Attial effective refractory period(ERP)and vulnerability window (VW)of atrial fibrillationwere measured with and without vagal stimulation before and after AER.Results In group A,ERP decreased significantly at baselineand during vagal stimulation after AER compared with that beforeAER(all P<0.05).In group B,ERP remaind unchanged at baselineand vagal stimulation after AER compared with tbat before AER (all P>0.05).In group C,ERP shortened significantly at baseline andvagal stimulation after AER compared with that before AER(all P<0.05).ERP shortening after AER in Groups A and C increasedsignificantly than that in group B (all P<0.05).Atrial fibrillation could not be induced at baseline(VW close to 0) before and after AERin three groups.VW became widen significantly during vagal stimulation after AER compared with that before AER in Groups A and C(all P<0.05),while VW remained unchanged in group B (VW close to 0).Conclusions Short-term AER results in the decrease inERP.AER is accompanied by the increases in atrial vagal modulation.The increased vagal activity and vagal stimulation promote AER,thereby increase the susceptibility to atrial fibrillation.The interrupted vagal activity attenuates AER.thereby suppresses the atriaIfibrillation mediated by vagal stimutlation.
4.Immunomodulatory effect of oyster peptide on immunosuppressed mice

Objective:To evaluate the immunomodulating effect of oyster peptide on immunosup-pressed mice.Methods:ICR mice injected with cyclophosphamide (CTX)were adopted as the module group,with mice without treatment as the control group,and different dosages of oyster peptide (0.5 g/kg,1 .0 g/kg,and 2.0 g/kg)were given to the low,middle,and high groups for 1 5 days.The body weight,spleen,and thymus weight of the mice,structures under the microscope of the immune organs, numbers of white blood cells,ratios of T lymphocyte subsets,immune cytokines and numbers of nuclear cells,and DNA content in bone marrow were all assessed.Results:Compared with the control group, the structures of thymus and spleen of the mice in the CTX group appeared obscure and shrunk when ob-served under microscope,the number of their white blood cells declined (P =0.04),the proportion of their CD3 +T cells in peripheral blood declined (P =0.003),the proportion of their CD8 +T cells in pe-ripheral blood declined (P =0.002),the concentration of their IL-5 in peripheral blood significantly in-creased (P <0.01 ),the concentration of their nucleated cells and DNA density in bone marrow de-creased (P =0.04,P <0.01 ).Oyster could improve the structures of thymus and spleen of the immuno-suppressed mice.Compared with the CTX group,the number of white blood cells in 2.0 g/kg group in-creased (P =0.003),the proportion of CD3 +T cells in peripheral blood in 1 .0 g/kg group (P =0.04) and 2.0 g/kg group (P =0.02)increased,the proportion of CD8 +T cells in peripheral blood in 2.0 g/kg group increased (P =0.002),the concentration of IL-5 in peripheral blood in all the oyster treated groups increased (P <0.01 in 0.5 g/kg,1 .0 g/kg,and 2.0 g/kg groups),the concentration of IL-1 7 in peripheral blood in 2.0 g/kg group decreased (P =0.03),the concentration of nucleated cells in bone marrow of all the oyster treated groups increased (0.5 g/kg vs.CTX,P =0.04;1 .0 g/kg vs. CTX,P =0.02;2.0 g/kg vs.CTX P =0.01 ),the DNA content in bone marrow of all the oyster treated groups increased (P <0.01 in the 0.5 g/kg,1 .0 g/kg,and 2.0 g/kg groups).Conclusion:Oyster peptide could improve the structures of immune organs of the CTX-induced immunosuppressed mice,re-cover the imbalances of T lymphocyte subsets,improve the immune cytokines and increase numbers of nucleated cells and DNA content in bone marrow,thus improving the immunologic function.
5.Evaluation and analysis of Advanced Health Assessmentcurriculum for nursing postgraduates in China

Objective To evaluate the satisfaction and current situation of advanced health assessment course for postgraduates. So that it can provide the evidence for the development of teaching reform. Methods Facilitating the convenient sampling of 69 nursing master′s degree authorized schools in China. And a further survey using self-designed questionnaires was conducted in the teacher who in charge of this course and 73 postgraduates in 17 schools offering Advanced Health Assessment. The data were analyzed using reliability, validity, frequency and percentage. Results There were 45 schools responded effectively, of which only 17 schools set up this course. There were no uniform norms of the teaching materials, hours and credits. 73 postgraduates were satisfied with the teaching methods, training practical abilities, meeting academic development needs, practicality, and commonality of the advanced health assessment course. However, 54.8% of the students said the course is too difficult to handle. Conclusion All the schools should pay more attention to Advanced Health Assessment Course and improve the professional level of postgraduates.
6.Dynamic observation and antibiotic susceptibility analysis of biofilm of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from clinical specimens

Objective To analyze the correlation between antibiotic susceptibility andbiofilm formation of Staphylococcus aureus. Methods According to Standardized Operational Guidance for Clinical Microbiological Testing, fifty-eight non-repetitive pathogenic Staphylococcus aureus isolates were collected from blood, urine, sputum and purulent secretions of inpatients in the Laboratory Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University in January 2018. The antibiotics susceptibility of strains was characterized by disk diffusion method and VITEK-2.96-hole culture. The biofilm formation ability was detected bythe crystal violet assay and Congo redplate methods.The in vitro dynamic forming process of S.aureus′sbiofilm was analyzed by crystal violet staining combined with bacterial culture in 96 wells.Besides, the rate differences of drug resistance between biofilm producers and non-producers was performed by Chi-square test. The diameter of bacteriostasis zone of biofilm producers and non-producers was compared by t test. The drug resistance among strains with different biofilm formation ability was analyzed withnonparametric rank sum test. Results The positive ratio of biofilm producing S. aureus was higher in MRSA (68.42%) than in MSSA(20.00%)(χ2=12.304,P=0.001. Antibiotic resistance rates of biofilm producers were higher than non-producers.The resistance rates of biofilm positive strains to oxacillin and clindamycin were 73.33% and 53.33%, respectively. The antibiotic resistance of the strain was higher along with the biofilm forming ability was increasing. (χ2=9.099, P=0.008). Depths of the S. aureus′s biofilm on the 96-well plates increased significantly over time and reached biofilm maturation after 72 hours′ incubation. Light microscopic observation revealed that the mature biofilm was compact and growing with many layers. Conclusions For the clinical isolates of S. aureus, the antibiotic resistance of biofilm producers is significantly higher than non-producers. Strains with stronger biofilm forming ability had higher antibiotics resistance. Depths of the S. aureus′s biofilm on the 96-well plates increased significantly over time and reached biofilm maturation after 72 hours′incubation.
7. Predictors of cerebral microbleeds in patients with atrial fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation is a common type of arrhythmia. Cerebral microbleeds (CMBs) are a neuroimaging phenotype of cerebral small vessel disease, which is related to the tendency of intracranial hemorrhage. Studies have shown that the detection rate of CMBs in patients with atrial fibrillation is higher, and CMBs are also a risk factor for increasing the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation and death in patients with atrial fibrillation complicated with stroke. This article reviews the predictive factors of CMBs in patients with atrial fibrillation.

Carotenoids are secondary metabolite responsible for colored pigments in plants and microbes (Li et al., 2022). They are a class of C40 tetraterpenoids consisting of eight isoprenoid units, and can be classified into carotenes and xanthophylls on the basis of their functional groups (Saini et al., 2015). Carotenes can be linear (phytoene, phytofluene, and ζ-carotene) or branched (β-carotene and α-carotene). Xanthophylls comprise β,β-xanthophylls (β-cryptoxanthin, zeaxanthin, violaxanthins, and neoxanthin) and β,ε-xanthophylls (α-cryptoxanthin, α-carotene, and lutein). Citrus fruits are complex sources of carotenoids, which are the principal pigments responsible for the typical orange color of most types (Chen, 2020). The difference in total carotenoid content and the diversity of carotenoid isomer proportion also accounts for other colors of citrus fruits, such as yellow, red, and pink (Chen, 2020).

9.Intranasal temperature-sensitive hydrogels of cannabidiol inclusion complex for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric disease that seriously affects brain function. Currently, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are used to treat PTSD clinically but have decreased efficiency and increased side effects. In this study, nasal cannabidiol inclusion complex temperature-sensitive hydrogels (CBD TSGs) were prepared and evaluated to treat PTSD. Mice model of PTSD was established with conditional fear box. CBD TSGs could significantly improve the spontaneous behavior, exploratory spirit and alleviate tension in open field box, relieve anxiety and tension in elevated plus maze, and reduce the freezing time. Hematoxylin and eosin and c-FOS immunohistochemistry slides showed that the main injured brain areas in PTSD were the prefrontal cortex, amygdala, and hippocampus CA1.
