1.Study of the inborn errors of mitochondrial fatty acid ?-oridation deficiency

Mitochondrial fatty acids ?-oxidation is a repetitive process of four steps which provides the major source of energy for heart, liver and skeletal muscle. Several enzymes are involved in this spiral cycle. The medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase ( MCAD) , the short-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (SCAD) , the long-chain 3-hydroxy acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (LCHAD) and the carnitine-palmitoyl-CoA transferase Ⅱ ( CPT Ⅱ ) deficiency have been recognized as the most common inborn errors of metabolism and frequently reported in their association with sudden infant death ( SID) . The prevalent mutations in these genes need further investigation in different populations.
2.One-stage plastic operation of penile lengthening and thickening

Objective To introduce improved techniques for one-stage operation of penile lengthening and thickening. Methods 8 cases were operated by this kind of procedure which comprised bilateral longitudinal incision of the corpora cavernosa and enlargement of the tunica albuginea using sapheneous grafts. Results All the cases gained satisfactory results without serious complications such as infection, fistula, and hemorrhage. All the cases who have married resumed regular and satisfactory sexual activities after one month without any functional limitation . The penile corpus circumferential measurements after operation immediately and at 12-month follow-up revealed increases of 1-2 cm. Conclusions The introduced technique for one-stage plastic procedure of penis lengthening and thickening indicates for treating micropenis and dysmorphophobia in terms of aesthetics or sexual function need . The new technique is a reliable method for penile augmentation with good configuration, satisfactory function and few complications.
3.Analysis of the diagnosis and treatment of biliary cystadenoma and cystadeno-carcinoma: report of 16 cases

Objective To analyze the clinical features of intrahepatic biliary cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma.Methods Sixteen patients from Dec.2008 to Dec.2013 were retrospectively reviewed to investigate their clinical manifestations,image features,treatment and prognosis.Results Intrahepatic biliary systadenoma and occured occurred primarily in middle-aged women with no typical clinical manifestations.Image examination is the key method in diagnosis.Surgery is the only method to cure the disease.The procedure depends on its location,and its prognosis is related to complete surgical resection.Conclusion Intrahepatic biliary cystadenoma and cystadeno-carcinoma is a rare tumor occuring mostly in middle-aged women.Image examination is the key method in diagnosis.Complete surgical resection contributes to its better prognosis.
4.Preparation and bioevaluation of 111 In-DTPA-avastin for non-invasive tumor targeted imaging

Objective To label human VEGF targeted bevacizumab (avastin) with 111In and to evaluate the application of 111 In?DTPA?avastin SPECT imaging for tumor diagnosis. Methods DTPA?avastin was prepared by coupling with a bifunctional chelating agent, and then labeled with 111 In to obtain 111 In?DTPA?avastin. The stability and molecular integrity of the labeled radiotracer were studied. Human hepatoma cell ( BEL7404) bearing nude mice tumor model was employed for tumor targeting evaluation. Gamma imaging was acquired after intravenous injection of 18.5 MBq probe. At the end of the observation, animals were sac?rificed for bio?distribution study. Results 111 In?DTPA?avastin tracer was synthesized and purified to a?chieve a radiochemical purity yield above 98% and specific activity up to 185 GBq/nmol. Its stability in 5%BSA was optimal, and the radiochemical purity after incubation for 96 h was over 90%. Gamma imaging re?sults showed that the tracer possessed definite tumor targeting property. Its biodistribution was consistent with that of normal in vivo antibody metabolism while possessing a good tumor?targeting property with a relatively high uptake of (3.8±0.8) %ID/g in tumor tissues 96 h after injection. Conclusions 111 In?DTPA?avastin tracer has good physicochemical properties, in vivo stability and good VEGF targeted binding. 111 In?DTPA?avastin has potential to be a new molecular probe for SPECT imaging.
5.The mechanisms of drug resistance in prostate cancer.

Drug therapy is one of the efficient methods for prostate cancer treatment. However, drug resistance greatly hindered the treatment of prostate cancer patients. Herein, the mechanisms of drug resistance in prostate cancer have been exhaustively reviewed, and that can provide an alternative strategy and new targets for anti-prostate cancer therapy.
6.A study of clinical significance of rheumatoid factor in primary Sj(o)gren's syndrome

Objective To explore the clinical significance of rheumatoid factor (RF) in primary SjSgren's syndrome (pSS).Methods The clinical and laboratory data of 141 cases of hospitalized pSS patients from Wannan Medical College Affiliated Yijishan Hospital from 2006 to 2012 were analyzed retrospectively,and the clinical significance of RF was also analyzed.The data were analyzed using t-test and ~ test respectively.Results The positive rate of RF in pSS was 49% (63/128),the rate of low-titer positive RF was 32% (20/63),and the high-titer positive RF was 68% (43/63).Patients with high-titer positive RF were more prone to suffer from parotidomegaly,arthritis and hematological system involvement.In terms of the results of laboratory examination,the following were more frequent,including positive anti-SSA antibody,the elevated IgG level,the decrease of platelet,the increase of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and the increase of total globulin level.For the respect of clinical performance and laboratory examination between patients with low-titer positive RF and negative RF,no difference was found statistically.Conclusion pSS patients with high-titer positive RF are prone to have extraglandular organ involvement,and acute-phase reactants and antibody levels are relatively high.

Objective To discuss the effect of the shape of mandibular arch on uprightness distortion ratio in computed orthopantomography.Methods 20 specimens of adult head with different shape of mandibular arch were selected.The computed orthopantomography was performed after the markers were inserted in the marking points of mandible,the length of the markers were measured with computer,and the results were statistically analysed.Results In computed orthopantomography,the uprightness distortion ratio of anterior teeth area of square mandibular arch(11.77%) was higher than that of tine mandibular arch(5.05%),and the difference was prominent(P=0.011
8.Accuracy verification of PET-CT image fusion and its utilization in target delineation of radiotherapy

Objective Evaluate the accuracy o f co-registration of PET and C T (PET-CT) images on line with phantom, and utilize it on patients to provide c l inical evidence for target delineation in radiotherapy. Methods A phantom with m arkers and different volume cylinders was infused with various concentrations of 18FDG, and scanned at 4?mm by PET and CT respectively. Aft er having been transmi tted into GE eNTEGRA and treatment planning system (TPS) workstations, the image s were fused and reconstructed. The distance between the markers and the errors were monitored in PET and CT images respectively. The volume of cylinder in PET and CT images were measured and compared by certain pixel value proportion deduc tion method. The same procedure was performed on the pulmonary tumor image in te n patients. Results eNTEGRA and TPS workstations had a good length linearity, b ut the fusion error of the latter was markedly greater than the former. Tumors i n different volume filled by varying concentrations of 18FDG required different pixel deduction proportion. The cylinder volume of PET and CT images were almost the same, so were the images of pulmonary tumor of ten patients. Conclusions T he accuracy of image co-registration of PET-CT on line may fulfill the clinica l demand. Pixel value proportion deduction method can be used for target delineati on on PET image.
9.Correlation between 18F-FLT PET/CT imaging and microvessel density of tumor tissue in non-small cell lung cancer

Objective To explore the correlation between 18F-FLT SUVmax and intratumoral microvessel density (MVD) in NSCLC patients.Methods From January 2008 to December 2010,68 patients (48males and 20 females; age ranging from 36 to 84 years) with NSCLC underwent 18F-FLT PET/CT followed by surgery within two weeks.Tumor proliferation was evaluated in terms of Ki67 labeling index (LI) with SP.MVD was determined using anti-CD31 mAb (CD31-MVD),anti-CD34 mAb (CD34-MVD) and anti-CD105 mAb (CD105-MVD) for each resected tumor.Linear correlation analysis was used to analyze data.Results The mean values of CD31-MVD,CD34-MVD and CD105-MVD were 159.6,166.1,and 38.0 per view field,respectively.Tumor SUVmax was 4.1±2.9,and Ki67 LI was (37.0± 14.5) %,both of which had significantly correlations with CD105-MVD (r=0.550,0.633 ; both P<0.05),but there was no significant relationship between SUVmax and CD31-MVD,CD34-MVD (r=0.228,0.235; both P>0.05).Conclusion 18F-FLT PET/CT imaging has a positive relationship with CD105-MVD of NSCLC,and it could reflect the ability of tumor angiogenesis.
10.Correlation of heart rate recovery after exercise test with exercise capacity in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Objective To explore the correlation between heart rate recovery after exercise test and disease severity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)and assess its impact on the exercise capacity of COPD patients.Methods Arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary lung function test and cardiopulmonary exercise testing were performed in 60 patients with stable COPD and 50 healthy volunteers.Based on the heart rate recovery after exercise test, COPD patients were divided into normal heart rate recovery group(n =41)and abnormal heart rate recovery group(n =19).Results The COPD patients had lower exercise capacity(peak oxygen uptake as percentage of predicted value, peak VO2% pred)(66 ± 15vs.89±11, P<0.01), peak heart rate [(134±21)vs.(149±13)beats/min, P<0.01], heart rate recovery[(18 ± 9)vs.(27 ± 10)beats/min, P < 0.01] and higher resting heart rate [(83 ± 13)vs.(77 ± 13)beats/min, P <0.01] than the controls.Compared with normal heart rate recovery group, forced expiratory volume in one second as percentage of predicted(FEV1 % pred)and exercise capacity decreased more significantly in abnormal heart rate recovery group(38 ± 15 vs.52 ± 16, P<0.05 and 57 ± 12 vs.71 ±14, P <0.01).Heart rate recovery was significantly correlated with FEV1% pred and peak V O2% pred(r=0.42, P < 0.01 and r =0.52, P < 0.01).Multivariate regression analysis showed that heart rate recovery and FEV1 % pred could be used as independent predictors of exercise capacity in COPD patients.Conclusion In COPD patients, heart rate recovery is correlated with the degree of disease severity and it may be an independent predictor of exercise capacity.
