Objective To investigate expression and clinical significance of HIF-1?、MVD and PCNA after TAE or TACE for rabbit liver carcinoma,and to identify the mechanism of hepatic carcinoma cell proliferation after the operation.Methods Thirty rabbits were implanted with liver VX2 tumors for 1 week.Then they were randomly divided into 3 groups.Control group had hepatic arterial infusion of 0.5 to 0.8 mL saline.TAE group was embolized with 0.5 to 0.8 ml UFLP.TACE group was embolized with 0.5 to 0.8 ml UFLP mixed with 2 mg THP.Two weeks after treatment,HIF-1?、MVD and PCNA expression was detected.Results Growth of the liver tumor was found in the 3 groups,and there were 15,11 and 3 new tumors found in the control group,TAE group and TACE group respectively.The expressions of HIF-1?and PCNA in control group were higher than those in TACE group,but significantly lower than those in TAE group(P

Objective: To investigate the distraction osteogenesis technique in correction of severe retro-maxillary deformity following the repair of cleft palate. Methods:10 patients were included in the study. Orthodontic treatment was used as a regular procedure before operation. Distraction osteogenesis technique was used to correct the deformity and malocclusion. 4 of patients applied with the external distractor and others with internal distractor. Latency period was 7 days. Distraction rhythm is 0.8~1 mm/d,2~4 times/d. Consolidation period was 8~12 weeks. Orthognathic surgery was done after distraction finished when necessary. Results:The treatment process was smooth and no severe complication occurred. The maximum of distraction distance is 22 mm, and the minimum of distraction distance was 15 mm. No malunion or ununion occurred in all 10 patients. All the patients were satisfied with the results. Conclusion:Distraction osteogenesis is more suitable for correction of severe retro-maxillary deformity following the repair of cleft palate. Bone transplantation is unnecessary during the operation process with easier handling and lower risk.

Objective:To design a new elastic implant-distraction apparatus. Methods:The implant-distraction apparatus consists of tow units, a TiNi shape memory alloy spring and an implant, made of pure titanium TA2.Spring was put into the hollow implant.After horizontal osteotomy, the implant-distraction device was placed into the partial edentulous area of mandible of 6 dogs to distract the alveolar bone.Results: The apparatus was manufactured.It could implement continual autodistraction and kept stable in the in vivo experiment. 10 weeks after application of the apparatus the transport bone segment was vertically augmented by 4.7 mm on average.Conclusion: The implant-distraction device is functional in distraction osteogenesis.

Objective To investigate the correlation of long term aspirin treatment and cerebral microbleeds(CMBs)incidence in non-hypertensive patients.Methods 56 non-hypertensive patients (the average age of 64.88±6.99)with long term aspirin adminis-tration (100 mg/d)were enrolled in the study from 2005 to 2010 in our hospital,with follow up to compare CMBs 5-10 years later. All patients underwent T2 WI,T1 WI,diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI)and susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI).The CMBs lesions were defined by senior radiologists.Patients’age,gender,total cholesterol level,aspirin,CMBs and CMBs location were taken into account in data analysis.Results CMBs incidence was 14.3% in all participants,lesions were located mostly in lobes.Aged,male and low total cholesterol level were the risk factors of CMBs (P<0.05).Patients with CMBs were more likely to suffer from acute cere-bral infarction (P<0.05).Two of 56 patients with new CMBs lesions located in lobar and mixed location respectively only.Conclusion Long term aspirin administration does not increase the risk of CMBs in non-hypertensive patients(P>0.05),the potential adverse effect of aspirin needs further investigation.

Objective To observe apoptosis and proliferation of intestinal epithelial cells and to explore the mechanism of protective effects of rhubarb monomers on intestinal epithelial cells in septic rats.Methods Eighty male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats (230-250 g) under anesthesia and sedation were subjected to cecal ligation and perforation (CLP).After surgical preparation,rats were randomly (ramdom number) divided into 8 groups (n =10 each):a sham group (A) [normal saline (NS) gavage];a sepsis group (B) (NS gavage);group C (ip dexamethasone 0.5 mg/kg immediately after CLP) (C);and rhubarb monomer 100 mg/kg in NS treated groups including:rhein group (D),emodin group (E),3,8-dihydroxy-1-methyl-anthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid group (F),1-O-caffeoyl-2-(4-hydroxy-O-cinnamoyl)-D-glucose group (G),and 3,8-dihydroxy-1-methyl-anthraquione group (H).Animals were sacrificed 24 hrs after treatment.Intestinal histopathology,apoptosis (TUNEL) and proliferation of intestinal epithelial cells (proliferating cell nuclear antigen,PCNA) were measured.Multiple comparisons were carried out with one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA).Results Histopathology revealed injury to the intestinal mucosal villi induced by sepsis in group B compared with group A.The injury was significantly ameliorated in groups C,D,E,F,G,and H compared with group B.The apoptosis index in group B was significantly higher than that in group A (P ＜ 0.05) and the apoptosis index in groups C,D,E,F,G,and H was significantly lower than that in group B (P ＜ 0.05).The PCNA positive index in group B was significantly lower than that in group A (P ＜ 0.05),but was significantly higher in groups C,D,E,F,G,and H than that in group B (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Rhubarb monomers can promote the proliferation of mucosal cells and prevent apoptosis of intestinal mucosal cells.In addition,rhubarb monomers may play a role in protecting the intestinal barrier function.

Objective To investigate the infection of 23 kinds of human papillomavirus ( HPV) subtypes in female cervical epithelium samples and to analyze their relationships with age and results of cyto-logic test in Haikou area. Methods A total of 4 037 local healthy women were enrolled in this study from July 2013 to August 2016, 1 967 of whom received cervical cytology test. Cervical cell samples collected from those women were detected for HPV typing by using PCR-reverse dot blot hybridization. Results (1) The total positive rate of HPV in 4 037 samples was 22. 15% (894 cases), and the detection rates of carci-nogenic, possibly carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic HPV were 16. 13%, 3. 99% and 5. 55% (651, 161 and 224 cases), respectively. The positive rates of 6 genotypes were high, which were HPV52, 53, 81, 51, 16 and 58 in turn. (2) The detection rates of carcinogenic, possibly carcinogenic HPV and some of the gen-otypes (HPV18, 52, 53, 66) increased with age (all P<0. 05). (3) Multiple infection in HPV-positive women accounted for 24. 38% (218/894), in which the infection rates of carcinogenic types declined with age and the numbers of HPV genotypes in carcinogenic infections were negatively correlated with age ( both P<0. 05). (4) Only 2. 49% (49/1 967) of the samples were positive for cervical cytologic test, classified into the ≥ASC-US ( atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance ) group. The detection rates of eight kinds of carcinogenic and two kinds of possibly carcinogenic HPV in≥ASC-US group were significantly higher than those in the negative (no intraepithelial lesion or malignant lesion, NILM) group (all P<0. 05). Conclusion This study indicates that Haikou women have higher rates of HPV infection, especially the eld-erly group. HPV subtype infections present some regional characteristics and are mainly single type infec-tion. Cervical cancer screening should be combined with tests for HPV and cytology analysis to improve its effectiveness.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of the ultra-early stent-assisted coil embolization of the ruptured intracranial aneurysms. Methods The clinical data of 13 patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysm treated by ultra-early stent-assisted coil embolization were analyzed retrospectively. The preoperative Hunt-Hess gradeⅠ-Ⅱ was in 7 cases,gradeⅢ was in 4 cases,and grade Ⅳ was in 2 cases. The patients were treated with stent-assisted coil embolization under the general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation within 24 h of aneurysm rupture. The postoperative embolization was assessed according to the Raymond grading standard. The postoperative complications and the assessment of the follow-up results from 1 to 6 months after procedure according to the modified Rankin scale (mRS ) scores were observed. Results All 11 patients recovered well,1 case had postoperative hemiplegia,1 case had postoperative bleeding,and none of them died. During the follow-up period,no patients had rebleeding, 1 had recurrence,and DSA revealed that the patient was embolized completely at 2 months after reembolization. Conclusion The method of ultra-early stent-assisted coil embolization of ruptured intracranial aneurysms is feasible. It may improve the cure rate of the ruptured aneurysms and improve the prognosis of patients.

Purpose To investigate the expression of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR in colorectal cancer ( CRC) and their significance. Methods Immunohistochemistry, Western blot and real-time PCR were employed to detect the expression of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR in CRC. Results The positive expression rate of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR in 242 cases of CRC was 90. 50%, 87. 19% and 46. 28%, respectively, which were higher than that in adjacent tissues ( P<0. 05 ) . Moreover, the expression of LC3 in moderately and poorly differentiated CRC was higher than that in well differentiated CRC, and the positive rate of LC3 in CRC with lymph node metastasis was higher than that in CRC without lymph node metastasis. The overexpression of mTOR was related to lymph node metasta-sis (P<0. 05), but both differentiation degree and lymph node metastasis were not associated with Beclin1 (P>0. 05). The expres-sion of LC3 was positively correlated with Beclin1 and negatively correlated with mTOR in colorectal cancer (rs =0. 593, P<0. 01, rs= -0. 165, P<0. 01), and the expression of Beclin1 was not associated with mTOR (P>0. 05). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis re-vealed that the five-year survival rate of patients without nodal metastasis, positive expression of Beclin1, LC3 and negative expression of mTOR was higher than those with nodal metastasis, negative expression of Beclin1 and LC3, and positive expression of mTOR. Cox survival analysis results revealed that LC3, mTOR and lymphnode metastasis were independent prognostic factors. The results of IHC, real-time PCR and Western blot in fresh CRC tissues indicated that the expression of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues (P<0. 05). Conclusions The aberrant expression of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR may be associated with the development and progression of colorectal cancer. The simultaneous detection of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR genes in colorectal cancer may be helpful for the evaluation of the progressive degree and the judgment of prognosis.

Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of dual perfusion embolization and chemotherapy via hepatic artery and portal vein(combmation treatment) in the treatment of unresectable PHC.Methods Eighty-one cases of unresectable PHC were randomly divided into two gronps: (1) Combination treatment group.Forty-one cases,These cases received embolization and chemotherapy via hepatic artery and portal vein through a drug delivery system intraoperatively,and then embolization and chemotherapy via the drug pump were given periodically. (2) TACE group.Forty cases.These cases were treated with Seldinger's technique, the dosage of drugs were the same as used in the former group during laparotomy. After 3 times of treatment, AFP, the size of tumor, liver function, body weight, abdominal perimeter, survival time of the two groups were compared.Results The weight, AFP, decrease of tumour size in combination group were much better than those in TACE group( P 0.05). The median survival time in the two groups were 18.0 months and 11.1 months ( P =0.0001). The accumulating survival rate of 6, 9, 12, 24 months were 87.8%, 78.0% , 68.2%,31.7% in combination group, and 70.0%, 52.5%, 30.0%, 5.0% in TACE group, respectively . The factors affecting survival were therapeutic method, liver function, size of tumour.Conclusions Combination treatment is simple, convenient with less complications, and the effect is better than TACE. So it is an effective method for the unresectable hepatic carcinoma.
