BACKGROUND:The degradable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) biliary-enteric composite stent has been developed. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the solubility and biocompatibility of the degradable PLLA biliary-enteric composite stent. METHODS:Solubility:the PLLA composite stent was implanted into artificial gastric acid to detect the dissolution rate within 12 weeks. Pyrogen test:the PLLA composite stent extracts were injected into the rabbits via ear vein to detect the changes of body temperature. Hemolysis test:the PLLA composite stent extracts, normal saline and distil ed water were added into the rabbit anticoagulant, respectively, to detect the hemolysis ratio. Cytocompatibility test:Caco-2 cel s were respectively cultured in the DMEM medium containing 10%fetal bovine serum, rubber material extracts and the PLLA composite stent extracts, and the cel proliferation was detected at 12, 24, 36 and 48 hours;the lactic dehydrogenase release was detected at 2 days. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The PLLA composite stent showed a long stability in vivo, and approximately 80%was dissolved at about 20 weeks. No reactions of pyrogen and henolysis were observed in the pyrogen and hemolysis tests. The PLLA composite stent made no effects on the Caco-2 cel proliferation and lactic dehydrogenase release. In conclusion, the PLLA composite material holds a good solubility and cytocompatibility.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the mechanism of iridoid from Valeriana jatamansi treating irritable bowel syndrome.
METHODSixty male SD rats were equally divided into 6 groups (2 controls, 1 model and 3 treatment doses) with 10 rats per group. The test groups were administered with iridoid (24.92, 12.46, 6. 23 mg x kg(-1)) while the control groups were administered with fluoxetine (2.5 mg x kg(-1), positive control) or distilled water (negative control). The model was established by chronic stress and independent feeding. The influence of iridoid from V. jatamansi on 5-HT and 5-HIAA in colon, serum and hypothalamic were observed in all groups.
RESULTIn the model group, the content of 5-HT in colon and serum increased significantly, but the content of 5-HT in hypothalamic decreased significantly. The content of 5-HIAA and the value of 5-HT/5-HIAA had no significant change. In three iridoid-treated groups, the content of 5-HT in colon and serum decreased, but the content of 5-HT in hypothalamic increased. The content of 5-HIAA had no significant change. The value of 5-HT/5-HIAA in colon and serum reduced.
CONCLUSIONThe mechanism of iridoid from V. jatamansi treating irritable bowel syndrome may be related to the regulation effect to the levels of 5-HT from Gastrointestinal to central nervous system.

Objective To observe the value of 18F-fluoro-dihydroxy-phenylalanine(18F-FDOPA)PET/CT for evaluating the efficacy of radiochemotherapy for advanced glioma. Methods Data of 84 patients with advanced glioma who received precision radiotherapy combined with synchronous chemotherapy were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into effective group(complete remission+partial remission+stable disease,n=60)and ineffective group(progressive disease,n=24)according to the efficacy of radiochemotherapy.18F-FDOPA PET/CT metabolic parameters of tumors, including tumor metabolic tumor volume(MTV),maximum standard uptake value(SUVmax)and mean standard uptake value(SUVmean)were compared between groups, also before and after radiochemotherapy within groups.Spearman correlation analysis was used to observe the correlations of metabolic parameters and the efficacy of radiochemotherapy. Results After radiochemotherapy,MTV,SUVmax and SUVmean of tumors in effective group were lower than those of tumors in ineffective group(all P<0.05).Significant differences of metabolic parameters were found before and after radiochemotherapy in effective group(all P<0.05).MTV,SUVmax and SUVmean of advanced glioma were negatively correlated with the efficacy of radiochemotherapy(r=-0.63,-0.52,-0.50,P<0.001,P=0.007,P=0.010).Conclusion 18F-FDOPA PET/CT was helpful for evaluating the efficacy of radiochemotherapy for advanced glioma.

Hip fracture is considered as the most severe osteoporotic fracture characterized by high disability and mortality in the elderly. Improved surgical techniques and multidisciplinary team play an active role in alleviating prognosis, which places higher demands on perioperative nursing. Dysfunction, complications, and secondary impact of anaesthesia and surgery add more difficulties to clinical nursing. Besides, there still lack clinical practices in perioperative nursing for elderly patients with hip fracture in China. In this context, led by the Orthopedic Nursing Committee of Chinese Nursing Association, the Expert consensus on clinical practice in perioperative nursing for elderly patients with hip fracture ( version 2023) is developed based on the evidence-based medicine. This consensus provides 11 recommendations on elderly patients with hip fracture from aspects of perioperative health education, condition monitoring and inspection, complication risk assessment and prevention, and rehabilitation, in order to provide guiding advices for clinical practice, improve the quality of nursing and ameliorate the prognosis of elderly patients with hip fracture.
