PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing exercise behaviors of the male manual workers and office workers based on health promotion model by examining the relationships among them, and then to provide basic information for developing exercise program. METHODS: The 97 laborers and 99 officiers were collected from two worksites. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression. RESULTS: Male laborers' exercise behavior was significantly influenced by exercise self-efficacy, exercise social support and exercise experience over 3 months, and these factors explained 50.2% of the total variance. Male officiers' exercise behavior was significantly influenced by exercise self-efficacy, subjective health status, perceived exercise barriers and exercise social support, and they explained 47.3% of the total variance. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the findings that exercise self-efficacy and exercise social support commonly influence exercise behavior of male laborers and officiers, there is a need to develop an exercise program to improve exercise self-efficacy and exercise social support.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to explore how characteristics of ADHD children affect social support for mothers, parenting stress, parenting sense of competence, coping, and quality of life. The conceptual model was based on the Lazarus and Folkman's stress-evaluation-coping theory. METHODS: Data were collected 208 mothers of children with ADHD. Data were analysed using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs. RESULTS: The proposed model was good fit for the data based on the model fit indices. Parenting stress, parenting sense of competence and coping directly affected quality of life but characteristics of the children and social support had only an indirect effect. The explanatory power of these variables was 52.1%. CONCLUSION: The results of this study indicate that nursing strategies to increase social support for mothers with ADHD children, lowers parenting stress, improves parenting sense of competence, and guides the parents to choose appropriate coping. In particular, as social support has the strongest influence on the quality of life, it is necessary to develop nursing intervention programs that utilize social support for parents with ADHD children.

Objective To evaluate the decreased level of serum inhibin B(INHB)treated by gunadotropin releasing hormone agonist(GNRH-a)in predicting ovarian response and pregnancy in in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET).Methods The prospective study enrolled 124 women given by GnRH-a+recombine follicle stimulating hormone(rFSH)+human chorionic gonadotrophin(hCG)long term stimulation protocol undergone their first cycle of IVF-ET treatment.The following predictive factors were collected and analyzed,such as age,basal level of follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),the ratio of FSH/luteinizing hormone(LH),the concentration of INHB after down-regulation,total number of antral follicle count(AFC)and mean ovarian volume. Ovarian response was evaluated by the number of oecytes obtained.A multiple regression analysis and logistic regression model were used for all possible prognostic variables to evaluate the value of difierent hormones in predicting ovariall response and pregnancy after IVF-ET.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) analysis was used to evaluate the level of INHB in predicting the number of oocytes obtained.The sensitivity and specificity were calculated at the discriminating cut-off point Results The concentration of INHB after down-regulation showed a highly significant positive correlations with the number of oocytes obtained(r=0.435,P<0.01).The multiple regression analyses showed INHB was the most significant predictor of the number of retrieved oocytes,but INHB was not associated with IVF-ET outcome significantly(P>0.05).ROC analyses showed INHB after down-regulation had the largest area under curve(AUC)0.933(95%CI:0.878-0.988).When a threshold of 15 ng/L of INHB was established,95.5%sensitivity and 50.0% specificity in ovarian response were observed.Conclusions The level of INHB Was the best factor in predicting ovarian response in IVF-ET.Decreased level of INHB Was the early sign of ovarian reserve function failure,however,useless in predicting IVF-ET outcome.

Objective To study the diagnostic values of a distintegrin and metalloproteases-8 (ADAMS) in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods The serum protein level of ADAM8 was assayed by ELISA in 62 NSCLC patients,27 lung benign lesions and 32 healthy people.Results The serum levels of ADAM8 of NSCLC [(456.88±143.87)ng/L] were higher than those with lung benign lesions[ (271.63±74.20) ng/L] and normal controls(253.09±72.15 ng/L) (P<0.01), but there was no significant difference between lung benign lesions and normal controls (P0.05).No significant difference was found between adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma in serum ADAM8 level,the serum levels of ADAM8 in NSCLC with stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ [ (498.80 ± 151.80) ng/L] were higher than those with stages Ⅰ -Ⅱ[(385.80±95.85) ng/L] (P <0.01 ).The diagnostic sensitivity of detection of ADAM8 for NSCLC was 77.4% and the specificity was 90.6%.Conclusion The overexpression of ADAM8 in serum of NSCLC patients indicates that ADAM8 is related with occurrence and metastasis of NSCLC;De-tection of ADAM8 could assist the diagnosis for NSCLC.

Objective To evaluate the effect of serum LH level on the day of superovulation start on the prolonged gonadotropin-releasing hormone ngonist therapy on the outcomes of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) in patents with ovarian endometriomas. Methods 75 patients with ovarian en-dometriomas were treated by laparoscopic cystectomy or laparotomy cystectomy or ultrasound-mediated cysts puncture, and gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-α) was given for 3 to 4 times every 28 days after the operation. Superovulation started after 14 ～ 84 days of the last injection. All the patients were di-vided into two groups according to the level of serum LH. Group A included 30 patients whose level of LH was less than 0. 5IU/L, and group B included 45 patients whose level of LH was over 0.5IU/L and less than 1.5IU/L. The outcomes of IVF-ET were evaluated. Results The total ampoules of Gn administration and the ampoules of hMG needed in group A[(32.28±7.7) ampoules, ( 12.0±8. 9) ampoules,]were sig-nificantly more than that in group B[( 25.84±7. 1 ) ampoules, ( 6. 19±7.4) ampoules, P < 0.05] . The successful embryo implantation rate in group A( 18. 1% ) was lower than group B(26. 7% ), and the differ-ence has statistical significance ( P <0. 05). Conclusion The low level of serum LH on the superovula-lion day on the prolonged gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist protocol will increase the ampoules of Gn administration and decrease the successful embryo implantation rate of IVF-ET, thus LH should be a more important reference parameter of superovulation start.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of different intensity of aerobic exercise for four weeks on cardiovascular risk factors, reactive oxygen, and antioxidant enzymes in old mice. Methods: Eighteen male C57BL/6 mice age 18 months were randomly classified into the control group (n=6), the moderate intensity exercise group (n=6), and the low intensity exercise group (n=6). The training groups performed the aerobic exercise twice daily for 20 minutes, five days weekly for four weeks. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, analysis of variance (ANOVA), the Chi-square test, and the Tukey’s test with the SPSSWIN 21.0 program. Results: In this study, among the risk factors of cardiovascular disease, blood sugar (BS) (p=.023) and total cholesterol (TC) (p=.001) were significantly different between the moderate intensity exercise group and the control group. Additionally, there were significant differences in the reactive oxygen malondialdehyde (MDA) (p=.001), the antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD) (p<.001) and glutathione reductase (GR) (p=.015) between the moderate intensity exercise group and the control group. Conclusion This finding suggests that moderate intensity aerobic exercise promotes the activity of antioxidant enzymes and lowers cardiovascular risk factors in older mice.

PURPOSE: This study was done to identify the level of knowledge, attitude and performance ability in CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and provided data for the development of an education program to improve CPR performance ability of nursery teachers. METHODS: The participants were 220 nursery teachers working in daycare centers in A city located in G province. Data were collected during July, 2013. RESULTS: The mean scores were 45.88 of 100 for knowledge, 3.69 of 5 for attitude, 2.65 of 5 for performance ability. There were significant differences in knowledge and performance ability according to education experience. There were positive correlations between knowledge and performance ability, and between attitude and performance ability. Factors affecting CPR performance ability were knowledge (beta=.133), attitude (beta=.327), and education in CPR (beta=.343). These factors explained 29.4% of the variance in CPR performance ability. CONCLUSION: Results indicate that nursery teachers' knowledge, attitude and CPR performance ability were not sufficient enough to perform accurate CPR in an emergency. Therefore, to improve performance ability of nursery teachers to carry out CPR in a cardiac arrest emergency of a child, educational strategies that focus on increasing knowledge and attitude need to be developed.

PURPOSE: This study was conducted to examine how patients' coping style and social support affect post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in breast cancer patients who are treated with chemotherapy. METHODS: The sample consisted of 134 outpatients who received breast cancer treatments at the cancer clinic of a university hospital. The collected data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA, chi2-test, Pearson correlation coefficients using SPSS for Windows, version 18.0. RESULTS: Among total, 26.9% of patients were classified into a high-risk PTSD group. In the high-risk group, a positive correlation was found between active and passive coping styles and between social support and active coping styles. CONCLUSION: In this study, the stronger the social support was, the more active the coping style was for high-risk PTSD patients with breast cancer. Considering the fact that cancer requires life-long self-management, strong social support could improve patients' healthcare capability. Furthermore, solid social support could effectively reduce the stress level and improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients in the high-risk PTSD group.

PURPOSE: In this study self-efficacy, emotional labor, pediatric nurse-parent partnership and job stress of pediatric nurses were examined. Factors affecting job stress of pediatric nurses were also investigated. METHODS: The study was done between June and September 2014, with a convenience sample of 145 nurses from 3 advanced general hospitals, 5 general hospitals and 2 children's hospitals. Research data were collected via questionnaires and analysed using SPSS version 18.0. RESULTS: Average levels of self-efficacy, emotional labor and job stress were similar to other general nurses and the average level of pediatric nurse-parent partnership was also similar to other pediatric nurses. Job stress of pediatric nurses showed a positive correlation with emotional labor and negative correlations with self-efficacy and pediatric nurse-parent partnership. The most significant factor affecting job stress in pediatric nurses was emotional labor (beta=0.372, p<.001). The combination of emotional labor, pediatric nurse-parent partnership and self-efficacy accounted for 25.4% of job stress in pediatric nurses. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that nursing management strategies to decrease emotional labor and improve pediatric nurse-parent partnerships and self-efficacy are critical to decrease job stress for pediatric nurses. Continued development of nursing management interventions to decrease job stress in pediatric nurses is suggested.

PURPOSE: This study was performed to develop an infection prevention education program for child care teachers and to verify its effects. METHODS: The study was conducted using a nonequivalent control group with a pretest-posttest design. Four private daycare centers (2 centers per city) that were alike in terms of the number of children by age, number of child care teachers, and child care environment were chosen. Participants were assigned to the experimental group (n=20) or control group (n=20). As a part of the program, visiting education (90 min) was provided in the 1st week, and smartphone application education (10 min) was provided thrice a week, in the 2nd and 3rd weeks. RESULTS: Child care teachers' self-efficacy for infection prevention revealed a significant interaction effect between the group and time of measurement (F=21.62, p < .001). In terms of infection prevention behavior, a significant difference was observed between the experimental and control groups (z=−5.36, p < .001). CONCLUSION: The program implemented in this study was effective in improving the infection prevention self-efficacy and infection prevention behavior of child care teachers. Thus, this program may be effective in enhancing their infection control.
