Objective To probe into the optometry students' acceptability of interactive teaching mode by the questionnaire survey. Methods Totally 207 optometry students including 42 five-year undergraduate students,17 seven-year program students,95 three-year postgraduate students and 53 three-year junior college students were investigated for their acceptability of interactive teaching mode by the questionnaire survey. Results The results showed that 63.3% of the students preferred traditional teaching mode; 70% of the students would like to accept interactive teaching mode, the others didn't accept it or hesitated to accept it.Lack of self-confidence was the major reason. Conclusions Most medical college students are willing to accept the interactive teaching mode.Interactive teaching mode should be combined with traditional teaching mode.
2.Icariin reduces mitochondrial oxidative stress injury in diabetic rat hearts.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2011;36(11):1503-1507
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of icariin on cardiac functions and mitochondrial oxidative stress in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats.
METHODMale SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group, icariin control group, diabetic group, and diabetic groups administered with a low dose (30 mL x kg(-1) x d(-1), ig) or a high dose (120 mL x kg(-1) d(-1), ig) of icariin for 8 weeks. The body weight, blood glucose, cardiac functions, left ventricular weight, and myocardial collagen level were assayed. The cardiac mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) level, malondialdehyde (MDA) level, and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were measured.
RESULTTreatment with icariin reduced the losing of body weight in diabetic rats. Icariin markedly reduced the ratio of ventricular weight and body weight, increased the left ventricular develop pressure and +/- dp/dt(max), and decreased the left ventricular end diastolic pressure in diabetic rats. The myocardial collagen and the level of cardiac mitochondrial ROS in diabetic rats were all markedly reduced by icariin. Furthermore, high dose of icariin significantly decreased the mitochondrial MDA level and increased SOD activity in diabetic rat hearts.
CONCLUSIONTreatment with icariin for 8 weeks markedly improved the cardiac function, which may be related to reducing mitochondrial oxidative stress injuries in diabetic rats.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2014;32(5):425-429
Background Angle Kappa is the angle between the pupillary axis and visual axis, and it is a major consideration in corneal refractive surgery and strabismic surgery.Researches showed that age and refractive status affect angle Kappa value, and additionally, the measuring results of angle Kappa are associated with instruments. Objective This study was to investigate and weight the influences of axial length, anterior chamber depth and corneal curvature to angle Kappa. Methods A cross-sectional study was designed.Fifty health volunteers were included from Dec 2009 to Aug 2010,with the age of 18-38 years and average diopter of-1.0 D and best corrected visual acuity of 1.0.The horizontal and vertical angle Kappa was binocular measured with a testing machine designed by laboratory of School of Optometry & Ophthalmology Wenzhou Medical University.IOLMaster was employed to measure the ocular axial length, anterior chamber depth and corneal curvature radius.A multiple linear regression model was established to analyze the influences of axial length, anterior chamber depth and corneal curvature radius to angle Kappa. Results An efficacious regression equation was established as Y =15.554-0.587X1+0.724X2+ 0.232X3 with the independent variables as axial length(X1),anterior chamber depth (X2),corneal curvature (X3) and dependent variable as horizontal angle Kappa (Y) (R =0.788,R2 =0.621,P =0.000).Horizontal angle Kappa showed a negative correlation with axial length (b1 =-0.587,β1 =-1.002,P =0.000) and a positive correlation with anterior chamber depth (b2 =0.724,β32 =0.296,P =0.030).No significant correlation was found between corneal curvature radius and horizontal angle Kappa (b3 =-0.232,β3 =-0.068,P=0.338).A new regression equation was Y =14.235-0.622X1 + 0.824X2 after removed the corneal curvature variable (R =0.786,R2=0.618,P =0.000),with a negative correlation between horizontal angle Kappa and axial length (b1 =-0.622,β1 =-1.062,P<0.05) or positive correlation between horizontal angle Kappa and the anterior chamber depth (b2 =0.824,β2 =0.337,P<0.05).In addition,a multiple linear regression equation among 3 independent variables and dependent variable of vertical angle Kappa was Y =0.492-0.020X1 +0.038X2 +0.089X3 (R =0.436,R2 =0.191,P =0.000).However,no significant correlations were seen between vertical angle Kappa and axial length, anterior chamber depth or corneal curvature radius (all at P > 0.05).Conclusions Ocular axial length and anterior chamber depth have an obvious influence to horizontal but not vertical angle Kappa.Axial length appears to have more influence to horizontal angle Kappa than anterior chamber depth.

Background Different depthes or distances are prompted with many visual cues on the flat screen.Which kind of depth cues plays a major role in the accommodation of human eyes,in addition, whether this effect exists in the different distance are still below understood. Objective This study was to research the effect of the monocular space depth perception on accommodative response at different distances, and to analyze the effect of linear perspective and size-constancy perceptual depth cues on the level and amplitude of accommodative fluctation. Methods Four groups of visual targets were designed by FLASH software and placed at the front of eyes with the distance of 50 cm or 33.3 cm,representing static change from far to near and dynamic change from far to near, from near to far respectively.Twenty-six healthy volunteers aged 22-26 years were included in this study, with the spherical power of (-4.06± 1.99) D and cylindrical power of (-0.38±0.41) D under the informed consent. The accommodative response and accommodative fluctuations during monocularly watching the targets were recorded at 5 times/second by Grand Seiko WAM 5500 automatic infrared refractor. This study was approved by Ethic Committee of Wenzhou Medical University, and written informed consent was obtained from each subject before entering the study group. Results At the distance of 50 cm,the accommodative response caused by the depth perception of near was (1.52±0.46) D,the one of distance was (1.37±0.46) D,with a significant difference of 0.15 D under the combined effect of linear perspective and size-constancy (P =0.016).The accommodative response caused by the depth perception of big car was (1.43 ± 0.35) D,and the one of small car was (1.43 ± 0.36) D,without statistically significant difference under the effect of size-constancy alone (P =0.467).At the distance of 33.3 cm,the accommodative response caused by the depth perception of near was (2.40±0.53)D,and the one of distance was (2.35 ±0.51) D,without significant difference under the combined effect of linear perspective and size-constancy (P=0.379).The accommodative response caused by the depth perception of big car was (2.38±0.48)D,the one of small car was (2.39±0.52)D,without statistically significant difference under the effect of size-constancy alone (P =0.820).In addition, the total curve of accommodative microfluctuation showed apparent fluctuation periodically caused by the distance perception involving linear perspective only. Conclusions Monocular space depth perception has some impacts on the accommodative response at certain distance.Linear perspective, which is one of the depth cues of space perception, plays a major role in the accommodative response.Compared with the size-constancy,linear perspective can provide depth perception at higher level. The size-constancy has a little or contrast impact to the accommodation, because it depends on the assistance from other depth cues like linear perspective.

OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the effect of femoral I.D.E.A.L localization in single bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR).
METHODS:
From January 2019 to October 2022, 122 patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury were treated with ACLR, including 83 males and 39 females. The age ranged from 23 to 43 years old, with an average of (32.19 ±8.55) years old. The course of disease ranged from 1 week to 6 months. According to the different surgical schemes, the patients were divided into two groups, namely the traditional group, which adopted the over-the-top femoral lateral positioning scheme, including 64 patients. The I.D.E.A.L group adopted the I.D.E.A.L femoral lateral positioning scheme, including 58 patients. The patient has pain and dysfunction of knee joint before operation. MRI of knee joint indicates anterior cruciate ligament injury. The visual analogue scale(VAS), International Knee Documentation Committee(IKDC) scoring system and Lysholm scoring system were used to evaluate the knee joint function of the patient. KT-2000 was used to detect the recovery of knee joint after operation and to count the postoperative complications.
RESULTS:
The wounds healed well after operation. One hundred and twenty-tow patients were followed up for 15 to 46 months, with an average of (25.45±9.22) months. The knee joint stability of patients after operation was significantly increased. The VAS at 1 day and 1 week after operation of patients in the I.D.E.A.L group was significantly lower than that in the traditional group(P<0.05). The IKDC score and Lysholm score of patients in the I.D.E.A.L group were significantly higher than those in the traditional group(P<0.05). In the traditional group, there were 6 cases of short-term (<1 month) complications and 19 cases of long-term (≥1 month)complicatios. In the I.D.E.A.L group, there were 3 cases of short-term complications and 7cases of long-term complications(P<0.05).
CONCLUSION
The single bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and femoral I.D.E.A.L positioning can achieve better early postoperative effect and reduce early postoperative pain.

To study the effect of Tripterygium wilfordii glycosides and gestrinone on endometriosis and serum cytokine expression, 135 cases of endometriosis patients were divided into treatment group(n=69) and control group(n=68). The observation group was orally given with T. wilfordii glycosides, 20 mg, tid, for 4 weeks. Then, the dose decreased to 10 mg/time, tid. T. wilfordii glycosides combined with gestrinone capsule(2.5 mg) were given in the 1st and 4th day of a menstrual cycle. Later, the administration was fixed at two times every week. The course of treatment lasted for 3 months. The control group was treated with gestrinone capsule(according to the same intake method). The serum-related cytokine levels before and after treatment were determined, and the clinical efficacy was observed. The results showed the total effective rate of the observation group was 89.71%, which was obviously higher than that of the control group(74.63%), with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). After treatment, TDS showed varying degrees of decreases, with a better effect in the observation group (P<0.01). Before treatment, serum TGF-β, IL-10 and IL-4 level had no significant difference. After treatment, all of these cytokines decreased, particularly for the observation decreased(P<0.01). Before and after treatment, serum IL-17 had no obvious difference between the two groups. This study suggested that the integrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine has an obvious clinical efficiency in endometriosis. Its mechanism may be related to the effective regulation of cytokines.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical efficacy of combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine in the treatment of patient bitten by agkistrodon halys pallas, and the changes in peripheral blood inflammatory factors (hs-PCR, IL-6, TNF-alpha).
METHODNinty-eight patients were divided into three groups according to their hospitalization dates: the western medicine group, in which 32 patients were treated with antivenom serum (6 000 U) for five days, once every day; the traditional Chinese medicine group, in which 32 patients were treated with anti pit viper No. 2 concentrated decoction (300 mL), twice to three times every day, for five days; and the combined traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine group, in which 35 patients were treated with the combination of Chinese and Western medicine treatment described above. Then blood samples of all of patients were obtained, and serum factors (hs-PCR, IL-6, TNF-alpha) in peripheral blood were measured by Elisa assay. Another 30 health volunteers were chosen as the normal control group.
RESULTThe serum inflammatory factors were significantly higher in all patients of the three groups than that in healthy control before treatment (P < 0.01), and decreased significantly after treatment. In particular, the more remarkable reduction was found in the combined traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine group compared with the western medicine group and the traditional medicine group (P < 0.01). Symptom elimination in the three groups was superior to the western medicine group and the traditional medicine group at the first day and the third day of treatment (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Total clinical effective rate was 100% in the combined traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine group, 84. 37% in the traditional medicine group and 65.62% in the western medicine group, the clinical effective rate of the combined traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine group was notably superior to that of the western medicine group and the traditional medicine group (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe serum inflammatory factors increased significantly in patients bitten by agkistrodon halys pallas. Treatment with the combined traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine can significantly decrease the serum inflammatory factors, and increase clinical effect, with more obvious clinical efficacy compared with the western medicine group and the traditional medicine group.

Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2023;39(31):2431-2438
Objective:This study was conducted using scientometric methods and visualization technology to review the research status and demonstrate the hotspots, evolutionary paths, and frontiers of community nursing in stroke patients at home and abroad. Methods:This study employed the CiteSpace software to analyze the literature on community care for stroke patients published from January 1, 2012 to June 1, 2022 in the core databases of CNKI and Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. Results:A total of 1 535 articles were included in this study. The trend of CNKI publications numbers had been first increasing and then decreasing. The number of WOSCC publications had experienced an annual increase over the past 10 years, albeit with certain inverted S-shaped fluctuations. The hot topics at home and abroad could be summarized in three points: rehabilitation nursing for community stroke patients, social support for community stroke patients, and community aged care for stroke patients. Domestic research in this field had been continuously refined, and there had been a significant shift in the development of this field abroad from focusing on the disease itself and public health issues to evidence-based nursing practices. The new research frontiers mainly included experiments and guidelines. Conclusions:There are differences in the level of emphasis placed on community care for stroke in the academic community both domestically and internationally. Conducting clinical trials and developing relevant guidelines will be an international research frontier. Moreover, relevant papers might provide Chinese research theory and methodology.
