1.Experimental study on the mechanism of inducing apoptosis in human SPC-A1 cells by curcumin

AIM To investigate the mechanism of anti-tumor effects of curcumin on human SPC-A1 cells. METHODS Cell culture、fluorescence microscope、TUNEL method and irradiation immunity techniques were used. RESULTS ①By the action of curcumin, SPC-A1 cells grew against the wall and then peeled off gradually;fluorescence microscope showed the nucleus broke into pieces, and cell split into apoptosis bodies in different sizes; The TUNEL method further certified that apoptotic cells reached 42 67% at the concentration of 20 ?mol?L -1 curcumin at 24 h. ②The level of intracellular cAMP concentration in the SPC-A1 cells,treated with curcumin, was significantly higher than that of the control group. ③Treated with 20 ?mol?L -1 curcumin for 24 h, the expression of Caspase-8 mRNA of human SPC-A1 cells was up-regulated. CONCLUSION Curcumin can induce the apoptosis of SPC-A1 cells, and one of its molecular mechanism may be associated with the rising of the level of intracellular cAMP concentration, and up-regulating expression of Caspase-8.
2.The killing effect of bone cement on spinal metastasis of transplanted VX2 carcinoma in experimental rabbit models

Objective To investigate the killing effect of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) on spinal metastasis of transplanted VX2 carcinoma in experimental rabbit models. Methods Spinal metastasis of transplanted VX2 carcinoma model was successfully established in 18 rabbits. The experimental rabbits were randomly and equally divided into three groups with 6 rabbits in each group. Under CT guidance , PMMA or saline was injected into the center of VX2 tumor; in group A 0.3 ml of PMMA was used, in group B 0.1 ml of PMMA was used and in group C (control group) 0.3 ml saline was used. Twenty-four hours after the injection, the animals were sacrificed. Four tissue samples were obtained from the sites at 1 mm , 5 mm, 10 mm and 15 mm away from the PMMA mass in each rabbit of group A and group B , while four tissue samples were collected from different four sites from the tumor ’s center to border in each rabbit of group C. TdT-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) method was used to determine the tumor cell apoptosis rate. Results After successful establishment of rabbit model, injection of PMMA was performed in sixteen among the eighteen rabbits. Technical success rates were 83.3% in both group A and B, and the success rate was 100% in group C. The difference in technical success rate was not significant. The mean tumor cell apoptosis rates of spinal VX2 carcinoma at 1 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm away from the PMMA mass in group A were (65.75±18.81)%, (50.00±14.24)% and(14.95±8.98)% respectively. The mean apoptosis rate in the control group was (9.79 ±5.24)%; the differences between the group A and the control group were statistically significant (P<0.05). The mean tumor cell apoptosis rate of spinal VX2 carcinoma at 15 mm away from the PMMA mass in group A was (10.30 ±8.13)%, which was not significantly different with that of the control group. The mean tumor cell apoptosis rates of spinal VX2 carcinoma at 1 mm and 5 mm away from the PMMA mass in group B were (49.20±15.57)% and(17.75±9.28)% respectively, which was significantly different with that of the control group(P<0.05); the mean tumor cell apoptosis rates at 10 mm and 15 mm away from the PMMA mass in group B were not significantly different with those of the control group. Statistically significant differences in the mean tumor cell apoptosis rates determined at 1 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm away from the PMMA mass existed between group A and group B(P<0.001). Conclusion PMMA can promote the apoptosis of tumor cells, properly increasing the injected amount of PMMA can enlarge the extent of tumor cell apoptosis.
3.Effects of age factors on sedation induced by dexmedetomidine

Objective To evaluate the effects of age factors on sedation induced by dexmedetomidine.Methods One hundred and thirty-nine patients,aged 18-103 yr,with body mass index ≤ 30 kg/m2,scheduled for elective surgeries on lower abdomen or lower extremities,were divided into4 groups according to the age:group Ⅰ (18 yr≤age≤44 yr,n=40);group Ⅱ (45 yr≤age≤59 yr,n=38);group Ⅲ (60 yr≤age≤89 yr,n=39);group Ⅳ (≥90 yr,n=22).A catheter was placed in the subarachnoid space at L3,4 interspace,and ropivacaine 10-20 mg was injected via the catheter.At 20 min after ropivacaine injection,dexmedetomidine 1 μg/kg was infused via a pump over 10 min.The onset time and duration of sedation were recorded,and the occurrence of adverse effects such as hypoxemia,bradycardia and hypotension was observed.Results There was no significant difference in the onset time of sedation and incidence of bradycardia among the 4 groups (P>0.05).Compared with group Ⅰ,the duration of sedation was significantly prolonged in Ⅱ-Ⅳ groups (P<0.05).Compared with Ⅱ and Ⅲ groups,the duration of sedation was significantly prolonged in group Ⅳ (P < 0.05).The incidence of hypoxemia and hypotension was significantly higher in group Ⅳ than in Ⅰ-Ⅲ groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine-induced sedation is influenced by age factors,the duration of sedation induced by dexmedetomidine is prolonged,and the occurrence of adverse effects is increased,especially if the patients ≥ 90 yr of age.
4.The development of midwifery in China contributes to pregnant woman health

The major of midwifery is the basic platform of midwifery talent training, and its construction and development is very important for maternal health care. The midwifery education in China has experienced more than 100 years of development, especially after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the undergraduate education program of midwifery and clinical practice have developed rapidly. At the end of 2019, 64 universities in China have added undergraduate major of midwifery. China maternal and child health association has established 10 standardized training bases for midwives. The quality of maternal health has improved significantly in the past two decades.
5.Analysis of the Communist Party of China and the government always put people′s health first based on the perspective of women′s health

Women′s health is the cornerstone of national health. During the 70 years since the founding of New China, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, a legal system and related policies including more than 100 laws and regulations have been established to fully protect women′s rights and health, and women′s rights and health throughout their life cycle have been effectively protected. The health status of Chinese women has been significantly improved, the form and accessibility of women′s health care services have been continuously improved, and the building of women′s health care teams has been continuously strengthened. All of these achievements demonstrate the original intention of the Communist Party of China to put people′s health first and action of forging ahead.
6.Establishment of HPLC fingerprints for Ardisia crenata,Sophora tonkinensis and their couplet medicines and content determination of 5 chemical components

OBJECTIVE To establish the fingerprints of Ardisia crenata, Sophora tonkinensis and their couplet medicines, and to determine the contents of five components in them. METHODS Using water as solvent, single lyophilized powder of A. crenata and S. tonkinensis and combined lyophilized powder of their couplet medicines were prepared by combining lyophilization technology. The fingerprints of three lyophilized powder samples were established by using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and the contents of 5 kinds of components such as gallic acid were determined simultaneously. RESULTS There were 5, 10 and 14 common peaks in the fingerprints for single lyophilized powder of A. crenata and S. tonkinensis and combined lyophilized powder of their couplet medicines; the similarities of them with the control fingerprints were all greater than 0.90. In single lyophilized powder of A. crenata, the average contents of gallic acid and bergenin were 0.499 3 and 4.962 6 mg/g, respectively. In single lyophilized powder of S.tonkinensis, the average contents of matrine, oxymatrine and trifolirhizin were 3.046 0, 2.336 6 and 0.278 6 mg/g, respectively. In combined lyophilized powder of couplet medicines, the average contents of gallic acid, matrine, oxymatrine, bergenin and trifolirhizin were 0.560 6, 2.548 7, 1.382 2, 5.960 7 and 0.279 1 mg/g, respectively. The transfer rates were 8.87%-513.19%. CONCLUSIONS The established fingerprint and content determination methods are stable and feasible, and can be used for the quality control of A. crenata and S. tonkinensis and their couplet medicines. The average contents of matrine and oxymatrine in combined lyophilized powder of A. crenata-S. tonkinensis couplet medicines are decreased.
