ObjectiveTo explore the value of color Doppler echocardiography in diagnosing apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy( apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, AHCM). MethodsRetrospective analysis of 28 cases with apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy by echocardiography images was carried out. Results28 cases AHCM patients,apical myocardial thickness 17 ～29mm,5 cases of simple apical myocardial thickening;10 cases of ventricular apex、left ventricular myocardial wall thickening in the apical segment;6 cases of ventricular apex、left ventricular myocardial thickening of apical segments of inferior;6 cases of Ventricular apex,left ventricular free wall thickening of apical myocardial; 1 case of ventricular apex、right ventricular free wall thickening of apical myocardial. All patients were diagnosed. ConclusionColor Doppler echocardiograph was an effective method for diagnosis of apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Objective:To study the clinical value and telomerase activity of malignant ascites treated by lifein combination with cisplatin.Methods:48 patients with malignant ascites were divided randomly into two groups.Treatment group of 28 cases were treated with lifein and cisplatin,control group of 20 cases were treated with cisplatin alone.Telomerase activity was detected by semi-TRAP assay before treatment,at the first week,the second week and the third week after treatment,respectively.Results:the effective rates of treatment group(89.3%) was much higher than that of control group (60%),P

In this paper, the chloroplast psbK-psbI intergenic spacers of 18 species of Dendrobium and their adulterants were amplified and sequenced, and then the sequence characteristics were analyzed. The sequence lengths of chloroplast psbK-psbI regions of Dendrobium ranged from 474 to 513 bp and the GC contents were 25.4%-27.6%. The variable sites were 71 while the informative sites were 46. The inter-specific genetic distances calculated by Kimura 2-parameter (K2P) of Dendrobium were 0.006 1-0.058 1, with an average of 0.028 4. The K2P genetic distances between Dendrobium species and Bulbophyllum odoratissimum were 0.093 2-0.120 4. The NJ tree showed that the Dendrobium species can be easily differentiated from each other and 6 samples of the inspected Dendrobium species were identified successfully through sequencing the psbK-psbI intergenic spacer. Therefore, the chloroplast psbK-psbI intergenic spacer can be used as a candidate marker to identify Dendrobium species and its adulterants.

DNA barcoding is a rapidly developing frontier technology in the world and will be useful in promoting the quality control and standardization of traditional Chinese medicine. Until now, many studies concerning DNA barcoding have focused on leaf samples but rarely on Chinese herbal medicine. There are three issues involved in DNA barcoding for traditional Chinese medicinal materials: (1) the extraction methods for total DNA of the rhizomes of the medicinal materials; (2) intra-specific variation among samples from different places of origin; (3) accuracy and stability of this method. In this study, Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix was used to verify the stability and accuracy of DNA barcoding technology. Five regions (ITS2, psbA-trnH, matK, rbcL, and ITS) were tested for their ability to identify 86 samples of Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix and their adulterants. After improving the DNA extraction method, genomic DNA from all samples was successfully obtained. To evaluate each barcode's utility for species authentication, PCR amplification efficiency, genetic divergence, and species authentication were assessed. Among all tested regions only ITS2 locus showed 100% of PCR amplification and identification efficiencies. Based on the established method, we successfully identified two samples of Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix bought in pharmacy to the original species.

Objective To explore humam cytomegalovirus(HCMV) encoded microRNAs during latent infection in order to help study HCMV virology and latent infection mechanisms.Methods A model of HCMV latent infection via THP-1 cells infected with HCMV was constructed.Deep-sequencing was performed using high-resolution Solexa sequencing platform.The secondary structure of the newly sequenced miRNA was predicted by RNAFold bioinformatics software. Results HCMV encoded various miRNAs during latent infection, including miR-US25-2-3p, miR-US25-2-5p, miR-UL112, miR-US25-1, miR-UL22A and PC-5p-148467 with a predicted length of 25 bp, named hcmv-miR-US33as-5p.Conclusion HCMV can express many types of miRNAs during latent infection.

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of enhanced external counterpulsation(EECP)in elderly patients with acute ischemic stroke(AIS)complicated by coronary heart dis-ease(CHD).Methods A total of 65 AIS patients with CHD admitted in our hospital from Janu-ary to June 2023 were recruited and randomly divided into a control group(drug secondary pre-vention,n=32)and a treatment group(drug combined with EECP therapy,n=33).Their NIHSS score,mRS score and Canadian Cardiovascular Society(CCS)angina grade were evaluated before and after treatment and compared between the two groups.The incidences of recurrent ischemic stroke,new hemorrhagic stroke and major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE)were also recor-ded during treatment.Results The NIHSS score and mRS score were significantly decreased in both groups after treatment(P＜0.01).After treatment,the NIHSS score(2.67±1.63 vs 3.56± 1.83),mRS score[1.0(0.0,1.0)vs 2.0(1.0,2.0)]and CCS grade[1.0(1.0,2.0)vs 2.0(1.0,2.0)]were obviously lower in the treatment group than the control group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).There were no statistical differences in the incidence rates of recurrent ischemic stroke,new-onset hem-orrhagic stroke,and MACE between the control group and the treatment group(9.4％vs 6.1％,6.3％vs 3.0％,12.5％vs 6.1％,P＞0.0 5).Conclusion EECP is a safe and effective treatment option for elderly AIS patients with CHD.

Objective:To analyze the characteristics of total cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) burden in octogenarians with CSVD and to investigate its correlation with serum uric acid.Methods:From January 2019 to December 2020, patients with CSVD diagnosed by 3.0 T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in Departments of Neurology and Departments of Geriatrics, Liaoning Jinqiu Hospital were enrolled retrospectively. The patients were scored and grouped according to the total CSVD burden assessment standard. Ordered logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the independent influencing factors of the total CSVD burden score, and the Spearman rank correlation method was used to conduct the correlation analysis between serum uric acid and the total CSVD burden score. Results:A total of 217 octogenarians with CSVD were enrolled in the study. Their age was 87.3±4.5 years, 150 were males (69.1%), and their median serum uric acid was 313.0 μmol/L. The total CSVD burden score: 50 patients (23.1%) in 1-point group, 79 (36.4%) in 2-point group, 68 (31.3%) in 3-point group, and 20 (9.2%) in 4-point group. The imaging subtypes of CSVD were mainly asymptomatic lacunar infarcts (ALIs; 98.2%) and white matter hyperintensities (WMHs; 77.0%). The CSVD subtype combination was different between different total CSVD burden score groups. There were only two subtypes in the 1-point group, mainly ALIs (92.0%), and WMHs accounted for only 8.0%. Four subtypes could be observed in other groups, among which ALIS+ WMHs mixed subtype (100% in the 3-point group and the 4-point group) accounts for the highest proportion. The detection rates of cerebral microbleeds (CMBs) and enlarged perivascular spaces (EPVS) increased significantly with the increase of the total CSVD burden score. The 3-point group was 44.1% and 55.9% respectively. Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in age, male, hypertension, coronary heart disease, serum uric acid level, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and the highest quartile of serum uric acid between total CSVD burden score groups ( P<0.05). Multinomial ordinal logistic regression analysis showed that there was significant independent correlation between age (odds ratio 1.074, 95% confidence interval 1.013-1.140; P=0.017), serum uric acid (odds ratio 1.005, 95% confidence interval 1.000-1.009; P=0.032) and the total CSVD burden score. Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between serum uric acid and the total CSVD burden score ( r=0.153, P=0.024). Conclusions:ALIs and WMHs are most common in octogenarians with CSVD. Four subtypes were observed in each group ≥2, and the proportion of EPVS and CMBs also increases with the increase of the total CSVD burden score. There is an independent correlation between serum uric acid and the total CSVD burden in the octogenarians.

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of cerebral embolism from brachiocephalic artery thrombosis. Methods A case was reviewed with literature. Results Acute multiple cerebral infarctions were found in both right anterior and posterior circulation. Arterial floating thrombi with cyclic motion relating to cardiac cycles was found with transthoracic Doppler ultrasonography.Anticoagulation therapy played the major role in treatment. Conclusion Transthoracic Doppler ultrasonography is recommended in the suspicion of patients with typical clinical presentations in order to investigate the vascular conditions in the brachiocephllic trunk, and anticoagulation therapy should be initiated immediately after the thrombi have been detected.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of high-resolution magnetic resonance im-aging(HRMRI)in elderly patients with non-cardioembolic acute ischemic stroke(NCAIS).Meth-ods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 101 elderly NCAIS patients having HRMRI in our hospital from July 2022 to July 2023.Stroke subtypes were classified according to the Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment(TOAST)system and the Chinese Ischemic Stroke Sub-classification(CISS)system.The constituent ratio distribution of each subtype classification was compared before and after HRMRI in both classification systems.Results TOAST system identi-fied 8 cases of small-artery occlusion(SAO),1 case of other determined etiology(SOE),5 cases of undetermined etiology(SUE)and then reclassified as large artery atherosclerosis(LAA),1 case of SUE which was reclassified as SAO,and 7 cases of LAA and 4 cases of SUE being reclas-sified as SOE after HRMRI.In total,the diagnosis of 26 cases(25.74％)was modified.In the CISS system,10 cases of penetrating artery disease(PAD),1 case of other etiologies(OE),and 4 cases of undetermined etiology(UE)were reclassified as LAA.Furthermore,9 cases of LAA and 3 cases of UE were reclassified as OE after HRMRI.In total,the diagnosis of 27 cases(26.73％)was modified.There were statistical differences in the constituent ratio before and after HRMRI in both TOAST(x2=15.425,P＜0.01)and CISS(x2=17.300,P＜0.01)systems.Conclusion HRMRI is of diagnostic value and significance in accurately diagnosing the etiology of AIS in eld-erly patients without cardioembolic causes.
