Purpose　To judge the value of CT in the diagnosis of acute pancreatitis. Methods　74 cases of acute pancreatitis confirmed by operation were reviewed. All patients underwent CT plain and contrast -enhanced scanning. Oral contrast agents were used. Results　According to clinical diagnosis, they were devided into edematous type(n=53),and necrotic type(n=21). 7 cases were complicated with abscesses, and 5 cases died. According to CT finding, Grade A,n=10; Grade B,n=16; Grade C,n=19; Grade D,n=16; Grade E, n=13. Conclusion　 CT is valuable in the diagnosis of acute pancreatitis, and CT grade is referable.

Objective To investigate the influencing factors and reference value of sympathetic skin response (SSR) in healthy adults. Methods SSR was studied in 40 normal subjects,with the waveform and onset latency analyzed. Five of them were treated with different intensities of electrical stimulus to observe the subsequent onset latency. Results ① SSR was present in all the hands and it was also true in all the feet except for one case. The waveforms were biphasic or triphasic in the hands and biphasic or triphasic or monophasic in the feet. ② No significant difference was seen between the left and right sides in amplitude and onset latency. ③ Age,height,weight and gender had no significant influences on onset latency of SSR. ④ The normal value on onset latency in the hands was within 1 664 ms and 2 234 ms in the feet,respectively. ⑤ The electrical stimulus intensity had no obvious effect on onset latency. Conclusion Onset latency is an important parameter in evaluating abnormality while amplitude is only a reference index.

Objective To evaluate the functional alternations of canine renal ischemia and reperfusion injury by using MR perfusion-weighted imaging, and to correlate the imaging with the pathologic findings. Methods Using 1. 5 T MR system, four groups of three anesthetized dogs each were studied by left renal artery ligation for 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120-min, respectively, after the removal of ligation, reperfusion injury was suffered for one hour. True-FISP, TSE, and EPI sequences were performed in five different time phases ( pre-ischemia, onset-ischemia, post-ischemia, onset-reperfusion, and post-reperfusion). Finally, IR-turbo-FLASH sequence (TR 5. 8 ms, TE 3. 2 ms, TI 400 ms, FA 12?) with a temporal resolution of 1. 16 s was performed. Signal intensity (SI) in cortex, outer medulla, and inner medulla was measured. SI was plotted as a function of time. Peak height (P) , time to peak (Tp) , and the area (A) under the time-course curves after the intravenous injection of Gd-DTPA were estimated. Blood and urine examples were collected for measuring serum creatinine level and urinary protein before and after the insult. Histologic examination was performed with light and electron microscopy in all dogs. Results After arterial ligation,there was marked and significant reduction in the SI of each layer of left kidney on true-FISP, TSE, and EPI, except for the SI of inner medulla on TSE. After the removal of ligation,there were no significant differences in the SI of cortex of both kidneys, however, significant differences in the SI of outer and inner medulla of both kidneys remained on EPI in all groups. The turbo-FLASH study clearly depicted the three-phase pattern of SI changes in each layer on right kidney. The uniphasic enhancement pattern in all groups was showed in outer and inner medulla on left kidney, with the area under the curve decreased. Conclusion This preliminary study shows that MR perfusion-weighted imaging may be useful and very promising for the evaluation of renal dysfunction following normothermic ischemia and reperfusion injury.

Objective:To study the inhibitory effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) on the proliferation of allogeneic T lymphocytes in patients with acute leukemia and its mechanism. Methods: 30 patients with acute myeloid leukemia ( AML) ,30 patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia ( ALL) ,and 30 healthy subjects ( healthy group) were selected. MSC cells were isolated and cultured in three groups. The expression level of MSC cells in three groups were determined by MSC assay. The inhibitory effect of MSC on the proliferation of T cells was detected by Transwell assay. Results: AML group supernatant TGF-β1,HGF levels were significantly lower than the ALL group and the healthy group (P<0. 05),significantly higher than the levels of IL-11 ALL group of AML group,healthy group ( P<0. 05 ); three groups MSC supernatant IL-6 levels difference was not statistically significant ( P>0. 05). AML,ALL,MSC cells secrete cytokines healthy group of T lymphocyte proliferation still had a significant inhibitory effect, inhibition of differences in the case of contact and not in direct contact co-culture of T lymphocyte proliferation was not statistically sig-nificant (P> 0. 05); after joining the MSC,T cell proliferation in the three groups was significantly inhibited upon addition of anti-TGF-β1 antibody,anti-HGF antibody after T cell proliferation effective than a simple reversal join MSC (P<0. 05). Conclusion:MSC for acute leukemia patients inhibit allogeneic T lymphocyte proliferation,functioning principle may be related to the secretion of cyto-kines.

Objective Compare the value of multislice CT perfusion imaging (MSCTPI)?color brain atlas (CBA)?visual evoked potential mapping (VEP-M) in the diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction.Methods After routine CT was performed,the 27 cases of acute cerebral infarction underwent MSCTPI?CBA?and VEP-M respectively.Results The examination of MSCTPI showed that abnormal perfusion changes were in accordance with clinical symptoms;the examination of CBA showed that in 32 scale local high power shadow presented on the power of ??? of lesion;the examination of VEP-M showed the prolongation of latency of P100?degrade of amplitude on the lesion of the chart,the power of the lesion degraded obviously on the map of distribution of power,and distribution asymmetry.Conclusion Combined use of MSCTPI?CBA?VEP-M in the diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction can remedy the defects and improve diagnostic rate of acute cerebral infarction further.

Objective To investigate the relationship between genetic polymorphism of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) and the risk of acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). Methods Eighty-three patients with ALL and a cohort of 83 matched healthy objects were included, and DNA was extracted from their peripheral blood. PCR-RFLP was used to determine the genotypes of MTHFR C677T and A1298C. The adjusted odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated using unconditional logistic regression model. Results It was found that the frequency of the MTHFR C677T TT genotype among patients was significantly different from that among control objects (P=0.008). The MTHFR C677T TT genotype had an increased risk of ALL compared with that of 677CC genotype (OR=3.229, 95%CI: 1.328-7.847, P=0.01). No significant association between the MTHFR C677T CT genotype or A1298C polymorphism and the risk of leukemia. Conclusion The present findings suggest that 677C→T polymorphism in MTHFR may be a genetic susceptibility factor for acute lymphocytic leukemia.

Luminal surface of vascular endothelium is decorated with a variety of polysaccharide-protein complexes,which constitute the glycocalyx.It has been demonstrated that vascular endothelial glycocalyx plays an important role in modulation of selective permeability of vessels,mediation of the blood cell-endothelial cell interactions and the release of nitric oxide induced by fluid shear stress under physiological condition.In inflammation condition,sheding of glycocalyx due to inflammation mediator leads to its functional weakening in vessel protection.At the same time,heparan sulfate as a major constituent of vascular endothelial glycocalyx could be involved in regulating the evolution of inflammation.Heparan sulfate interacts with L-selectin to mediating leukocyte rolling,presents chemokines on luminal surfaces of endothelial cells to mediate leukocyte crawling and firm adhesion,participates in transcytosis of chemokines from tissue to luminal side of endothelial cells during inflammation.Various risk factors of atherosclerosis,as an inflammatory disease,are closely associated with vascular endothelial glycocalyx.This paper is aimed to review the role of vascular endothelial glycocalyx in inflammation and atherosclerosis.

Objective To study the impact of vaginal mesh exposure on quality of life in patients undergoing transvaginal reconstructive pelvic surgery (RPS) with polypropylene mesh.Methods From May 2004 to March 2011,114 patients with severe pelvic organ prolapse(POP) undergoing transvaginal RPS with polypropylene mesh were enrolled in this study,which were divided into exposure and non-exposure group according to appearing vaginal mesh exposure at 2 months,6 months and 1 year after operation.At the same time,pelvic floor distress inventory short form 20 ( PFD1-20 ) and pelvic floor impact questionnaire short form 7 ( PFIQ-7 ) were completed in those patients.Results At 2 months after operation,96 patients were followed up,including 19 patients in exposure group and 77 patients in non-exposure group,and the rate of exposure was 19.8c (19/96); At 6 months after operation,85 patients were followed up,including 13 patients in exposure group and 72 patients in non-exposure group,and the rate of exposure was 15.3％( 13/85 ) ; At 1 vear after operation,77 patients were followed up,including 6 patients in exposure group and 71 patients in non-exposure group,and the rate of exposure was 7.8％ (6/77).Mean score of PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7 in exposure group before operation was 39.6 and 57.1,which was statistically improved to 8.3 and 9.5 at 2 months after operation,8.3 and 9.5 at 6 months after operation,2.1 and 0 in I year after operation (P ＜0.01 ). Mean score of PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7 of non-exposure group before operation was 54.2 and 66.7,which was improved to 8.3 and 4.8 at 2 months after operation,0 at 6 months and 1 vear after operation,but there was no significant difference in mean score of PFDI-20 and PFIQ-7 between the two groups (P ＞ 0.05 ).Conclusion Vaginal mesh exposure was common after transvaginal RPS with polypropylene mesh,however,most of them were moderate,and there was no significant impact on patients'qualifies of life.

Objective:(i)to compare plasma ghrelin levels between women with PCOS and women presented only with hyperandrogenaemia;(ii)to investigate the relationship between circulating ghrelin and BMI、insulin level,insulin resistance,and Androgen levels in PCOS.Methods:Blood samples from sixty women with PCOS,15 women with only hyperandrogenaemia and 40 controls were collected,the basal levels of gonadotrophin,androgens,prolactin,sex hormone-binding globulin,glucose,insulin and ghrelin were measured.Results:(1)Comparing with PCOS and Controls,women with only hyperandrogenaemia had the lowest ghrelin levels;women with PCOS had lower ghrelin levels comparing with controls,but they were not significant.(2)Ghrelin levels were negatively correlated with BMI、WHR、Insulin levels and Insulin Resistance,positively correlated with sex hormone-binding globulin levels.Conclusion:In PCOS,circulating ghrelin and BMI、Insulin Resistance、SHBG levels were inversely related,indicating that Ghrelin might be associated with energy balance,obesity,and Insulin Resistance.However,further investigation was needed to clarify whether low ghrelin was a cause or the consequence of obesity and Insulin Resistance awaits.

Background: Studies showed that aberrant activation of JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway promoted the tumorigenesis and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) has either tumor-suppressing or tumor-promoting effect in regulation of tumor progression.Aims: To investigate the effect of specific inhibition of JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway on HCC and whether TGF-β1 signaling pathway is involved in this process or not.Methods: Thirty Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: control group, HCC group, and HCC+AG490 group.In the latter two groups, diethylnitrosamine was administered in drinking water to induce HCC model, and in HCC+AG490 group, AG490, a specific inhibitor of JAK was injected intraperitoneally in the first week of model establishment.At the end of the 16th week, all rats were sacrificed.The maximum diameter of tumor nodules in the liver was recorded and the number of tumors with maximum diameter greater than 1 cm was counted.Expression and distribution of STAT3 and TGF-β1 in liver tissue were determined by real-time PCR, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.Results: Compared with the control group, expressions of STAT3 and TGF-β1 mRNA in liver tissue were significantly increased in HCC group (P<0.05).Phosphorylated STAT3 (p-STAT3) and TGF-β1 proteins were absent in liver tissue in control group, and both were up-regulated and co-expressed in HCC group.While in HCC+AG490 group, expressions of STAT3 and TGF-β1 mRNA were significantly lower than those in HCC group (P<0.05);the liver tissue was weakly positive for p-STAT3 and TGF-β1 proteins, and the number of tumor nodules greater than 1 cm and the maximum diameter were markedly reduced when compared with the HCC group [1.20±1.03 and (1.14±0.18) cm vs.4.30±1.06 and (1.78±0.27) cm, P all<0.05].Conclusions: Specific inhibition of JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway may restrain the tumorigenesis and progression of HCC partially by interfering TGF-β1 signaling pathway.
