Objective To investigate the changes of transcranial Doppler (TCD) patterns and parameters in various intracranial hypertension.Methods Sixty rabbits were randomized into 3 groups:control group,the group of mild-to-moderate intracranial hypertension,the group of serious intracranial hypertension.Acute intracranial hypertension was induced by inflating the balloon inserted into the epidural space.Blood flow velocity was measured with TCD and intracranial pressure (ICP) as well as cerebral perfusion pressure(CPP) was measured.Mannitol was injected to the animals of intracranial hypertension,blood flow velocity and ICP was measured.ResultsTwo characteristic flow patterns vere observed in the group of mild-to-moderate intracranial hypertension:high resistance pattern,systolic flow.At the last stage of extreme intracranial hypertension in the group of serious intracranial hypertension Doppler sonograms showed three characteristic flow patterns in the following sequence:retrograde diastolic flow,very small systolic flow and zero flow.Multiform retrograde diastolic flows were related to the phases of brain death.Very small systolic flow showed three shapes:systolic-spike,small systolic triangular and small double peak.AftermedicinaltreatmentICPdecreasedinthethegroupofmild-to-moderateintracranial hypertension,blood flow velocity also increased.After the same treatment IC,P and blood flow velocity did not change in the group of serious intracranial hypertension.ConclusionsAnalysing patterns and parameters of TCD may be helpful for evaluating ICP indirectly as well as clinical experience.

Extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma,nasal type is a common subtype of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas in China.Many difficulties remain in its diagnosis and treatment.Correct diagnosis can be established according to the typical histology findings and immunology phenotypes with CD33（E）,EBER and/or CD56 positive.Prognostic factors should be assessed in the initiation of diagnosis.Ann Arbor staging classification has still being widely used and PET-CT scan is strongly recommended.Chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy should been considered for early-stage patients and combined chemotherapy is the best choice for advanced stage patients.The regimens containing L-asparaginase should be considered firstly due to the evidences from many clinical trials.Stem cell transplantation is recommended to almost all patients except for IE stage patients without any unfavorable prognostic factor.New regimens should be investigated and assessed in the perspective randomized clinical trials.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of ai-weizhi on anterior ischmic optic neuropathy (AION). Methods In 58 patients (60 eyes) who were diagnosed as with AION, 29 patients (30 eyes) underwent intravenous drip with ai-weizhi (1 200 mg/d) (treatment group), and the other 29 patients (30 eyes) underwent intravenous drip with 1-2 kinds of thrombolytic coagulant or vasodilator (once per day) (control group) with the period of treatment of 15 days. In the control group, ocular local injection, including gluco-corticosteroid and 654-2 behind or beside the eyeball injected once per day or every 2 days for 3-5 times, was perfomed on 20 eyes simultaneously. The changes of visual acuity and ocular fundus of the patients after injection were recorded, and the visual field was counterchecked in the patients who had underwent the examination before the treatment. Results The visual acuity was better in treatment group than which in control group with a significant difference (t=2.74, ?0.05). OBJECTIVE:To study the preventive effect and mechanism of butylphthalide on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. METHODS:SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group,model group,butylphthalide low-dose,me-dium-dose,high-dose groups (50,75,100 mg/lg),10 in each group. All rats were intragastrically administrated related drugs once a day,sham operation group and model group were intragastrically administrated equal amount of normal saline,for 3 d. Af-ter last administration,except for sham operation group,120 min of repertusion was conducted. Ratio of myocardial infarction ar-ea, apoptosis rate of myocardial cells, expressions of apoptosis-related protein [proapoptotic proteins (Caspase-3, Fas, Cas-pase-9),apoptotic protein (Bcl-2)],left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),and content of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)in serum of rats in other groups were detected. RESULTS:Compared with sham operation group,myocardial infarction ar-ea and apoptosis rate of myocardial cells in model group were obviously increased;expressions of Caspase-3,Fas,Caspase-9 pro-tein in myocardial cells were obviously enhanced,Bcl-2 protein expression was obviously weakened;LVEF and serum VEGF con-tent were obviously reduced (P<0.01). Compared with model group,except that LVEF in butylphthalide low-dose group didn't changed obviously (P>0.05),above indexes in other administration groups improved obviously (P<0.05). Compared with bu-tylphthalide low-dose group,myocardial infarction area and apoptosis rate of myocardial cells in butylphthalide high-dose group were obviously decreased(P<0.05);expressions of Caspase-3,Fas,Caspase-9 protein in myocardial cells in butylphthalide medi-um-dose,high-dose groups were obviously weakened,and Bcl-2 protein expression was obviously enhanced(P<0.05). CONCLU-SIONS:Butylphthalide can effectively reduce myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats,protect cardiac functions,and its mechanism may be related with up-regulating VEGF.

OBJECTIVEThe clinical results of restoring defective teeth with two types of glass fiber prothetic systems is investigated to acquire clinical experience for further application of glass fiber posts with independent intellectual property rights.

METHODSA total of 120 out-patients with restored defective teeth were selected from the Department of Stomatology, Beijing Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology and randomly divided into two groups. OUYA FIBER posts and Tenax Fiber White posts were used to restore defective teeth in the experimental group and the control group, respectively. Clinical evaluation was conducted one week and three months post-restoration.

RESULTSBoth clinical satisfactory rates of OUYA FIBER posts and Tenax Fiber White posts were higher than 98% one week post-restoration and higher than 96% three months post-restoration. No significant differences were observed between the clinical results of restoring defective teeth with the two types of fiber posts. Throughout the healing process, no root canal fracture or marginal staining were observed.

CONCLUSIONOUYA FIBER post and Tenax Fiber White post showed similar clinical outcomes during the period of observation in this study. However, the long-term effects should be observed in future studies.

Objective To investigate the effect of resveratrol on high glucose-induced oxidative stress and cardiomyo-cyte hypertrophy and possible mechanism .Methods H9C2 cardiomyocytes were divided into normal glucose group , high glucose group , resveratrol group and resveratrol +DAPT group respectively .The cell surface was measured by rhodamine-labeled phalloidin .Reactive oxygen species generation was measured using DCFH-DA.The contents of SOD and MDA were evaluated by colorimetry .The mRNA and protein levels of Notch 1, Hes1, ANP and BNP were evaluated by RT-qPCR and western blot .Results High glucose exposure significantly increased cell surface area ( P<0.01) and enhanced ROS and MDA generation ( P <0.01 ) with concomitant decrease of SOD activity ( P <0.01).It also decreased the mRNA and protein expressions of Notch 1 and Hes1(P<0.05), and increased the ex-pression levels of ANP and BNP ( P<0.05 ) .Resveratrol treatment inhibited cell surface expanding ( P<0.01 ) and decreased ROS and MDA generation (P<0.01) with concomitant enhance SOD activity (P<0.01), as well as in-creased the expression level of Notch 1 and Hes1 ( P<0.05 ) , and decreased the expression of ANP and BNP ( P<0.05).Conclusions Resveratrol may inhibit high glucose induced H9C2 cardiomyocytes hypertrophy by improving oxidative stress and activating Notch 1/Hes1 signaling pathway .

This study is to investigate the sedative and hypnotic effects of a novel compound H1208. The sedative activity of H1208 was investigated by recording the spontaneous locomotor activity of mice. The hypnotic property was evaluated by the latency and duration of sleep (loss of righting reflex) in mice and the effect of hypnotics on sleep pattern of electroencephalogram were studied in conscious, freely moving mice with chronically implanted electrodes. The brain monoamine neurotransmitters levels in mice were measured by high performance liquid chromatography-electrochemical detection. The spontaneous locomotor activity was decreased by 56.7% and 80.2% in H1208 (5 and 25 mg x kg(-1), ip) treated mice, respectively. The loss of righting reflex was directly induced in mice after H1208 (60 mg x kg(-1), ip) administration. The non-rapid eye movement sleep increased significantly by 131% and 259%, respectively, within 3 hours after H1208 (30 and 60 mg x kg(-1), ip) administration. However, the rapid eye movement sleep decreased significantly. The contents of DA in the striatum and cortex and 5-HT in the cortex decreased significantly. These results demonstrated that H1208 has potent sedative and hypnotic effects, which may be closely related to the decreased contents of DA and 5-HT in mouse brain.

BACKGROUND: Mortality related to cardiopulmonary bypass can be lowered by intra-operative monitoring system.Monitoring liquid level and pressure is extremely indispensable for examination of cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).OBJECTIVE: To design a CPB safety system including an arterial line pressure monitor and low-level sensor,and to evaluate its safety and effects in clinical settings.METHODS: The safety system was composed of pressure transducer,photoelectric transmitter,photoelectric detector,core controller,and liquid crystal display.The principles of reflection and refraction were applied to the design of level sensor.The pressure measurements were converted into electronic signals and processed.According to two principles above-mentioned,fluid level detector and pressure monitor were designed.Thirty patients with the age of 1-75 years receiving cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass were enrolled.The arterial line pressure at different pump flows was measured and the alarm function of the level sensor was also validated.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Cardiopulmonary bypass arterial line pressure increased with the pump flow.Arterial line pressure detected by HZ-01-A safety system also increased with the pump flow increasing,which was highly related to the pump pressure.HZ-01-A safety system could alarm when the arterial line pressure and reservoir level exceeded the pre-determined thresholds.HZ-01-A safety system could be safely and effectively applied to clinical cardiopulmonary bypass and improve bypass safety by accurately detecting the pressure and reservoir level.

Objective To optimize the extraction of polysaccharides from Ophiopogon japonicus by the use of response surface methodology.Method According to the design principle of Box-Behnken, effects of extraction temperature, extraction time , extraction times and solid-liquid ratio on the extraction yield of Ophiopogon japonicus polysaccharides were studied by response surface methodology,meanwhile regression analysis of these experimental data was used by Design-Expert 8.05b software.Results The optimum extraction conditions from Ophiopogon japonicus were concluded as follows: the extraction temperature was 93℃, extraction time was 2 h, extraction times was 3 times, and solid-liquid ratio was 1:15 g/ml.Conclusion Under these conditions, the extraction yield of Ophiopogon japonicus polysaccharides is up to 5.440%, and the relative error is 7.328%.

Objective To evaluate the clinical features,therapies and prognosis in patients with mucosa-assoeiated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma in ocular adnexal marginal zone (OAML).Methods A retrospective analysis was made upon clinical data from 21 patients with OAML admitted into Beijing Tongren Hospital from June,2008 to December,2011.Results There were 12 (57.1 ％) men and 9(42.9％) women,with a median age of 57 (23-79) years old.Majority of patients had localized pathological changes.Among them,16 patients (76.2％) were in stage Ⅰ E,and 5 (23.8％) in stage Ⅳ E.Surgical resection as the sole treatment was performed in 13 patients (61.9％),and positron emission tomography CT(PET-CT) imaging demonstrated normal fluorine 18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake after surgical resection,who were managed with no further therapy.All the 13 patients were followed up for median 14 (5-38) months,and all in complete remission.Combination chemotherapy was given to 8(38.1％) patients.Three patients in stage Ⅰ E treated with COP (cyclophosphamide,vineristine and prednisone) or CHOP (cyclophosphamide,adriamycin,vincristine and prednisone) were all in partial remission.Five patients in stage ⅣE were treated with COP/CHOP in combination with rituximab,and all in complete remission.The 3-year overall survival rate and disease-free survival rate in the total patients were 100.0％ and 74.9％ respectively.Conclusions The patients with OAML generally have localized disease,show indolent clinical course,and present low lymphoma-related mortality.Surgical resection is a very important treatment in the patients with local disease.Systemic chemotherapy should be considered in patients at advanced stages.Rituximab in combination with chemotherapy can improve the remission rate.
