Objective To study the imaging diagnostic methods of fibrous dysplasia. Methods 31 patients with fibrous dysplasia proved pathologically were studied. In addition to CT scan in 11 cases and MRI in 6 cases, plain films were performed in all 31 cases. The compartive analysis was made between the features of plain film and CT.Results Of 31cases, 18 patients had monostotic fibrous dysplasia and 13 polyostotic lesions. Roentgenologically, they were divisible into 4 type: cystic type(18 lesions),diffuse type(30 lesions),sponge groud-flesh type(2 lesions) and moth-eaten type(2 lesions). CT features of lesions were classified into 2 type: cystic expanded type(38 lesions) and osteosclerotic type(7 lesions). Conclusion X-ray film should be used as the first choice in diagnosis of fibrous dysplasia. CT is hightly sensitive in displaying the craniofacial lesions. The lesions can be correctly diagnosed in most instances,if plain film combined with CT.

The determination of vitamine D in fortified milk powder was carried out by means of HPLC. Its pre-treatments include extraction of fat, sap onification, isolation of the unsaponifiable matters, and digitonin-celite and bentonite column chromatography. The HPLC was performed with 15cm ? 4mm column of silica 5m 0.7% ethyl alcohol in iso-octane as mobile phase, at 254nm. Only 12 grams of sample which contained 400-500 IU vitamin D/100 g were used. Within the sample there were relatively large amounts of interfering materials such as fats, sterols,?-carotene, vitamin A, vitamin E and their decomposed products, but they could be separated by the above method. The recovery rate of vitamin D was 81% with standard deviation of 0.39?g/100g. This method could also be applied to other samples such as fortified cakes, confectionaries, infant foods and "Mairujing" (milk maltose mixture powder) etc.

Influenza is a major threat to millions of people worldwide. Vaccines and antiviral agents are two main options available to reduce the impact of the influenza virus, while anti-influenza agents are the most effective means to prevent the transmission of the highly contagious virus and to treat the epidemics of disease. At present, four anti-influenza agents have been approved by the FDA for the treatment of influenza, including two M2 protein ion channel inhibitors-amantadine and rimantadine and two neuraminidase inhibitors-zanamivir and oseltamivir. Arbidol hydrochloride, launched in Russia, is a potent inhibitor of influenza virus, too. Neuraminidase inhibitors could be classified generally by structure into six different kinds: sialic acid derivatives, benzoic acid derivatives, cyclohexene derivatives, cyclopentane derivatives, pyrrolidine derivatives and natural products. In this paper, recent progress in the research of the action mechanisms and structure-activity relationships of these anti-influenza virus agents were reviewed.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for implementing pharmaceutical care for secondary prevention of patients with myocardial infarction and improving medication compliance by clinical pharmacist. METHODS:A questionnaire survey was con-ducted for 200 secondary prevention patients with myocardial infarction in our hospital, and divided into good medication compli-ance group and poor medication compliance group by Morisky-Green(MG)standard scoring evaluation, and the reasons affecting the medication compliance were statistically analyzed. RESULTS:Totally 200 questionnaires were sent out,200 were effectively re-ceived with effective recovery of 100%. 137 patients showed good medication compliance and 62 patients showed poor medication compliance, there were statistically significant differences in the age, monthly income, whether there was a medical insurance or not, whether they live alone or not and whether they had more than 4 oral drugs between 2 groups(P<0.05). The reasons of poor medication compliance were forgetting to take the medicine, too many kinds of medicine, too expensive to afford the medicine, lacking the knowledge of the disease and poor medication guide. CONCLUSIONS:The poor medication compliance of patients with secondary prevention of myocardial infarction is closely related with elder age,low income,no medical insurance, living alone, and taking more than 4 kinds of medicine. Clinical pharmacists should play their professional expertise, repeatedly supervise patients'medication compliance and finally improve the efficacy and patients'quality of life.

Objective To study the effect of protopine (Pro) on the intracellular free calcium ions of the smooth muscular cells of the thoracic aorta in rats. Methods The procedure of calcium absence-calcium addition was designed to observe the changes of the level of calcium ions in the strips of the smooth muscle of the thoracic aorta indirectly. The concentration of calcium ions in the smooth muscle of the thoracic aorta was determined with Fura-2/AM loaded SMCs. The elevation of calcium ions was induced with norepinephrine (NE). The concentration of potassium ions was observed in the presence of Pro. Results Pro significantly inhibited the NE-induced transient contract of the smooth muscle of the thoracic aorta in calcium-free medium and long-lasting contraction after the addition of calcium ions in a concentration-dependent manner. In Fura-2/AM loaded SMCs, Pro (50 ?mol/L or 100 ?mol/L) exerted no effect on the resting calcium ions but obvious effect on the NE-induced and high potassium level-induced elevation of calcium ions. In the presence of extracellular calcium ions, Pro (50 ?mol/L) decreased the NE-induced elevation of calcium ions but showed no effect on potassium-induced elevation of calcium. Pro (100 ?mol/L) significantly decreased NE-induced and high potassium level-induced elevation of calcium ions. Conclusion Pro reduces NE-induced or high potassium level-induced elevation of calcium ions in the smooth muscle of the thoracic aorta through its effect on calcium release and/or calcium influx.

OBJECTIVE To observe the protective effect and underlying mechanism of total ginsenosides (TG) on bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis. METHODS Intratracheal instillation of bleomycin 5 mg · kg-1 was conducted to establish a pulmonary fibrosis mouse model. Kunming mice(1/2 males and 1/2 females)were randomly divided into sham-operation(Sham),model,total ginsen?osides 40,80 and 160 mg·kg-1 and prednisone acetate(5 mg·kg-1) groups. After 28 d administration, the histopathological changes in the lung were analyzed by hematoxylin eosin(HE)and Masson staining. The exprssion of alpha smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)in the lung was detected by real-time PCR. The content of hydroxyproline(HYP)and glutathione(GSH),level of total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)and hydroxy radical(·OH),activity of myeloperoxidase(MPO)and nitric oxide synthase(NOS)in the lung were detected by corresponding kits. RESULTS Compared with the sham group, the pulmonary indexes in model group were significantly increased(P<0.01),alveolitis and pulmonary fibrosis were obvious. The mRNA expression ofα-SMA,content of HYP and · OH,activity of MPO and NOS were increased(P<0.05),but the content of GSH and T-AOC in model group was decreased(P<0.05). Compared with model group, the pulmonary indexes in TG 80 and 160 mg · kg-1 and prednisone acetate 5 mg · kg-1 groups were reduced(P<0.05),and the degree of alveolitis and pulmonary fibrosis was mitigated. The mRNA expression ofα-SMA,content of HYP and · OH, the activity of MPO and NO were decreased (P<0.05),while the content of GSH and T-AOC was increased(P<0.05). CONCLUSION TG can improve the degree of mice pulmonary fibrosis induced by bleomycin. The mechanism may be related to the increased antioxidant capacity of organisms.
