Recent research found that human umbilical cord is rich in mesenchymal stem cells. These cells have the potencies of expressing many surface markers of mesenchymal stem cell and of differentiating into a variety of cells of three germ layers, synthesizing and secreting a set of trophic factors and other cytokines, and supporting the expansion and function of other cells hematopoietic stem cells and other cells. In addition, immunogenicity of these cells is realatively low.

Objective To prepare and optimize formulation of ATRA liposomes. Methods ATRA liposomes was prepared by reverse evaporating method and to determine the concentration and the entrapment efficiency of ATRA liposomes by HPLC. Results The entrapment efficiency of the three ATRA liposomes formulations reached 33.98%, 42.11%, 70.34% respectively. The liposome was stable. The ATRA content of three formulations almost showed no change during the observing days. Conclusion The technique of preparing the ATRA liposomes is feasible and the method of quality control is simple and accurate.

Objective To analyze the characteristics of bone marrow metastasis in large intestine carcinomas.Method [WT5”BZ]The systematic bone radionuclide images and clinical feature of pathology in 423 postoperative patients with colorectal carcinomas were analyzed retrospectively. Results Bone marrow metastases was confirmed in 191 cases accounting for 5 5% (191/3 454) of the patients admitted during the same period. 7 5% (146/ 1 934 ) of the rectal cancer cases had bone metastasis, which was significantly higher than that of 2 9%(45/1 520) in colon cancer (? 2=34 3, P 0 05). 108 cases had local metastasis, while 83 cases had systematic multiple metastases. Conclusions Bone marrow metastasis of large intestine carcinoma occurred most often secondary to liver and lung metastases. The bone metastasis in rectal carcinoma is more often than colonic carcinoma.

The basic medication is an important part of the medical education and modem medical education has been characterized by innovative education. From innovative thoughte and quality training links as education concept, teaching mode, knowledge structure, training of method and ability, the research explores and practices how to stimulate the students' activity and consciousness, in the process the education of pathogenic biology to cultivate their innovative thinking ability.

Objective To explore advantage of RNA guiding activity in vitro cleavage assay and intracellular antivi-ral effects for hepatitis C, basing on one external guide sequence (EGS)sequence of the conserved region of 5′UTR of HCV genome .Methods We analyzed the sequence and structure of the conserved region of 5′UTR of HCV ge-nome with computer software and designed one EGS which was direct at the potential targeting site ( C67-G68 ) .We tested the gene expression of HCV in Northern blot and Western blot and its antiviral activity by fluorescence quan -titative PCR in the Huh7.5.1 cell which was transfected by EGS-C67 .Results EGS-C67 had obvious advantage of RNA guiding activity in vitro cleavage assay .EGS-C67 obviously inhibited the gene expression of HCV and inhibit the proliferation of HCV and down-regulate the titer of HCV about 150 times( P<0.01 ) .Conclusions EGS-C67 , the new antiviral RNA has notably antiviral activity in cultured cells , thus could provide a new promising approach for development of anti-HCV strategy .

Objective To observe the effect of blood feeding and plasmodium yoelii infection on the transcript abundance of ribosomal protein S7 from Anopheles dirus hemocyte Methods Anopheles dirus of 3~5 days old were divided into normal group (N), blood feeding group(B) and Plasmodium yoelii infection group(I) Hemocytes of 50 Anopheles dirus from each group were collected by centrifuge method on days 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 11 after blood feeding, respectively Then, all hemocyte samples were used for total RNA isolation and analyzed by RT PCR Finally, the same volume(10 ?l) of all the PCR products from each group was used for agarose gel electrophoresis and the data obtained were analyzed statistically Results There was no significant difference in ribosomal protein S7 signal between the three groups Conclusion Similar to Anopheles gambiae and human rpS7, Anopheles dirus rpS7 might be also used as an internal control for the studies of the role of Anopheles dirus related immune factors in attacking Plasmodium infection

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Baizhu Shengjiang Decoction combined with Prucalopride Succinate Tablets for chronic functional constipation. Methods Sixty patients with chronic functional constipation were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Baizhu Shengjiang Decoction combined with Prucalopride Succinate Tablets orally, and the control group was treated with oral administration of Prucalopride Succinate Tablets alone. The therapeutic effects on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms and constipation, and the follow-up therapeutic effect of the two groups were evaluated after treatment. During the three months after the completion of treatment course, the recurrence of constipation was monitored. Results (1) The cure rate of the treatment group was 90.0% and that of the control group was 60.0%, indicating that the therapeutic effect on TCM symptoms in the treatment group was stronger than that of the control group(P < 0.05).(2) In respect of the relief of constipation, the markedly effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and was 50.0% in the control group, and the overall effective rate was 100.0% in the treatment group and was 73.3% in the control group, the difference being significant between the two groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01).(3) During the treatment, the percentage of patients with weekly completely spontaneous defecation frequency ≥3 was 86.7% in the treatment group, and was 53.3% in the control group, the difference being significant (P < 0.05). (4) The results of 3-month follow-up after the completion of treatment course showed that one case from the treatment group had the recurrence of constipation, and the recurred cases from the control group were 6, the difference being significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Oral use of Baizhu Shengjiang Decoction combined with Prucalopride Succinate Tablets exerts certain therapeutic effect for chronic functional constipation, which is effective both on relieving constipation symptoms and on reducing recurrence rate.
