To observe the expression of cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2 in brain after spared nerve injury (SNI) and compare the analgesic effects of COX inhibitors with different selectivity. Radioimmunoassay, RT-PCR and Western blotting techniques were used to evaluate the change of brain COX expression at different time points( before SNI, 1 h, 12 h, 1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 14 d, 30 d and 60 d after SNI); By exploring hot plate test, we observed the reacting time of animals after injection of saline, NS-398, SC-560 and indomethacin at different time points. The results showed that: ( 1 ) The expression of brain COX-1 didn't increase significantly until 14 d after SNI, while that of COX-2 increased significantly and rapidly after SNI and reached peak at the time point of 1 d ( all P <0.05 ); (2) NS-398 showed significant analgesic effect on neuropathic pain after SNI at the early phase ( P < 0.05 ), but didn't persist for over 30 d; ( 3 ) Indomethacin and SC-560 didn't show significant analgesic effects until 14 d. These results suggest that brain COX-1 is involved in the late phase of neuropathic pain and may play a role in the persistence of pain, while brain COX-2 is involved in the early phase of neuropathic pain and may play a role in the pain origination.

This study was aimed to observe the clinical effect of Pingai Mixture intervention on HIV/AIDS patients in order to clarify the characteristics of Pingai Mixture for AIDS treatment. A total of 41 HIV/AIDS patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected. Pingai Mixture was applied in the treatment. Three months was one treatment course. The treatment was given for two courses. Clinical symptoms, physical signs and changes in CD4+ lymphocytes of HIV/AIDS patients before and after treatment were observed. The SPSS software was used for statistical analysis. The results showed that the posttreatment total score (primary, secondary symptoms and the main physical sign cred-its) was significantly reduced compared with pretreatment (P < 0.01). The posttreatment spontaneous perspiration, night sweats, hair loss and other symptoms of a separate score was significantly reduced compared with pretreatment (P< 0.05). There were no significant changes on other symptoms or physical sign indicators. There was no significant difference in the Karnovsky score after 6-month treatment compared with pretreatment. It was concluded that Pingai Mixture is effective in AIDS treatment. It can improve the clinical symptoms and the administration is safe.

This study was aimed to summarize the medicine operation mode of fighting against AIDS in Xinjiang region in order to play its advantages and find its insufficiencies. The summarization had been made on aspects of resource integration , mode creation , highlighting research priorities and mechanism improvement . Advantages of various aspects had been pointed out and existing problems had been proposed. It was concluded that AIDS study by the National Clinical Research Base of Traditional Chinese Medicine in X inj iang still needs to share its re-source, innovate its network system construction model, operate its standard diagnosis and treatment, mechanism and system, and further strengthen its personnel training.

This study was aimed to observe the clinical effect of Ping-Ai GranulesⅠin the treatment of HIV/AIDS . A total of 107 AIDS cases were divided into Ping-Ai GranulesⅠgroup and Ping-Ai GranulesⅠunited with HAART group. The results showed that there was significant difference between Ping-Ai GranulesⅠgroup and Ping-Ai GranulesⅠunited with HAART group in aspects of symptoms, physical signs, Karnovsky Score and changes of CD4+ T lymphocyte . It was concluded that Ping-Ai GranulesⅠhad the function of improving patient's symptom and increasing patient's immunity and living quality .

Objective:To study the relationship between neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (N/L) and traditional cardio‐vascular risk factors among community 35~64‐year‐old residents .Methods :A total of 1884 residents (548 males and 1336 females) from urban Shenyang city received baseline condition questionnaire on cardiovascular diseases and re‐lated diseases from Apr 2011 to Feb 2012. According to presence of cardiovascular risk factors or not ,subjects were divided into healthy control group (n=675) and risk factor group (n=1209);according to number of risk factors , risk factor group was further divided into one risk factor group (n=491) ,two risk factors group (n=263) and ≥3 risk factors group (n=455) .Morning blood sample and urine sample were retained to measure blood and urine rou‐tine ,blood glucose and blood lipid profile etc in all subjects .N/L was compared and analyzed among all groups .Re‐sults:Among patients with only one of following risk factors [hypertension ,diabetes mellitus (DM) ,dyslipidemia and obesity] ,N/L levels of patients with hypertension or DM were significantly higher than that of healthy control group [1.55(1.15 ,1.95) ,1.60(1.21 ,2.07) vs .1.45(1.09 ,1.91)] , P<0.05 both ,and there were no significant difference between any other one risk factor group and healthy control group , P>0.05 all .Among risk factor sub‐groups ,N/L level of ≥3 risk factors group was significantly higher than that of two risk factors group [1.57(1.16 , 2.04) vs .1.41(1.07 ,1.89) ,P<0.05] ,and there was no significant difference between any other two groups (P>0.05) .Conclusion:N/L significantly related to hypertension or DM ,and N/L level of ≥3 risk factors group was sig‐nificantly higher than that of two risk factors group ,N/L is helpful to assess risk of cardiovascular diseases .

Objective To investigate demographic and clinical features of hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) in Chinese patients. Methods Data of 45 HNPCC pedigrees diagnosed in accordance with Armsterdam I and Armsterdam Ⅱ Criteria were collected and analyzed. Results In 264 patients, 305 malignant neoplasms were found. The median age of confirmed diagnosis of HNPCC was 50 years.Out of the 305 primary cancer foci, 180 were colonic cancers (59%), 125 were extracolonic cancer (41%) with carcinoma of the lung, endometrium and stomach accounting for 24.0% (30/125), 14.4% (18/125), and 12.0% (15/125) respectively. Conclusion HNPCC is characterized by early vertical transmission, with extracolonic cancer, and synchronous multiple and/or metachronous multiple primary cancers as common clinical features. Carcinoma of the lung, endometrium and stomach are among the most common extracolonic malignancies.
