Purpose To explore the methods of selectively visualizing hepatic portal vein by using three-dimensional fast imaging employing steady state acquisition combined with in-flow inversion recovery labeling pulse at 3.0 Tesla. Materials and Methods Ten healthy volunteers were examined under different TI (1200, 1400, 1600, 1800 ms), and the vessel-to-liver contrast ratio of the main portal vein, right portal vein, and left portal vein were measured. Results Non-contrast-enhanced MRA images of portal vein were obtained successfully in all ten volunteers. The signal intensity of peripheral portal branches gradually increased when TI increased from 1200 ms to 1600 ms, and the highest vessel-to-liver contrast ratio occurred when TI was 1400 ms. Conclusion Non-contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography of the hepatic portal vein can be successfully achieved at 3.0T high field MRI. A fixed TI of 1400 ms is preferable.

Objective To explore the value of high-resolution MRI(HR-MRI) on clinical application in the differential diagnosis between Moyamoya disease(MMD) and atherosclerosis-related Moyamoya syndrome (A-MMS). Methods Seventeen cases of patients with MMD and 18 cases of patients with A-MMS in our hospital from January 2014 to September 2015 were prospectively enrolled in the study. Record the clinical data and the proximal middle cerebral artery (M1 portion) performance on HR-MRI, the max-vessel area, the min-vessel area, the max-lumen area, the min-lumen area, the wall max-thickness, the styles of M1 portion thickening (eccentric or concentric), whether the wall was enhanced or not, and analysis the recorded data statistically, t test and χ2 test were used for the statistical analysis. Results The wall max-thickness of MMD group was (0.94 ± 0.17) mm, which was smaller than that in A-MMS group (1.23 ± 0.42) mm, there was statistic significance (t=-2.977, P=0.006). The cases of M1 portion non-enhancement was 15, slight enhancement 2, strong enhancement 0 in MMD group, and non-enhancement 5, slight enhancement 5, strong enhancement 8 in the A-MMS group, the difference was significant statistically (χ2=9.794, P=0.001). The cases of M1 portion concentric thickening was 16, 9 cases in the A-MMS group, there was statistic difference between them (χ2=6.317, P=0.012). Wall concentric thickening diagnose the MMD with a sensitivity of 94.1% (16/17), specificity of 50.0% (9/18), accuracy of 71.4%(25/35). Wall strong enhancement appear in the A-MMS with a sensitivity of 44.4%(8/18), specificity of 100%(17/17), accuracy of 71.4%(25/35).With a cut-off the maximum wall thickness of 1.2 mm could be used to noninvasively differential diagnose the MMD and A-MMS with a sensitivity of 55.6%(10/18), specificity of 88.2%(15/17), accuracy of 71.4%(25/35). Conclusion HR-MRI is a good tool for the differential diagnosis between MMD and A-MMS.

Objective:To evaluate the precision of quantitative CT (QCT) in measuring fat content of goose liver and to explore the influence of tube voltage on liver fat measurement. Methods:From January to March 2017, 22 Landes geese were selected to establish fatty liver models with overfeeding. The QCT was performed under 2 different tube voltages, 80 and 120 kV. In addition to the voltage, the other scanning parameters were the same. Three ROI were placed in the centre part of the left lobe, upper and lower half of the right lobe on the 3D reconstructed images. The volume percentage of goose liver fat (Fat% QCT) was calculated according to the formula provided by Mindways. Immediately after the QCT examinations, each goose was dissected, and the whole liver was removed. Then samples were taken in the corresponding areas of the ROI by QCT. The fat (triglyceride) content of the samples was measured by the biochemical extraction method. The Spearman correlation tests were used to determine the correlation between the QCT measurements of 80 kV and 120 kV groups and the results of biochemical extraction method. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was performed to compare Fat% QCT between 80 kV and 120 kV groups. Bland-Altman plots were used to assess agreement between the two groups′ measurements. Results:The Fat% QCT of both 80 kV and 120 kV group positively correlated highly with biochemical extraction ( r s=0.936, P<0.001, r s=0.927, P<0.001) respectively. No statistically significant difference of Fat% QCT was detected between 80 kV and 120 kV group ( Z=-0.141, P=0.888). Bland-Altman analysis showed a small difference of Fat% QCT between the 80 kV and 120 kV group, in which mean values were 0.20%. Conclusions:Using biochemical extracted triglyceride as the reference, under the conditions of low-dose 80 kV and standard 120 kV tube voltages, QCT measurement of fat content is accurate and reliable in goose liver.
