1.Progress of prevention and treatment of iron deficiency
International Journal of Pediatrics 2011;38(2):176-178
Many countries have prevented and treated iron deficiency by more and more iron nutritional fortifiers. Although technical challenges limit the amount of bioavailable iron that can be added to many foods, evidence from controlled trials has shown that iron fortification can effectively control iron deficiency. Selective plant breeding and genetic engineering are promising new approaches to improve dietary iron bioavailability. However, a major challenge is to show that they can increase iron content to nutritionally useful levels and that the additional iron is bioavailable.

Chinese Journal of Microsurgery 2010;33(4):301-304,后插五
Objective To establish an aortic transplantation model in the rat. Methods A thoracic aorta to abdominal aorta interposition transplant model in the rat was established. The male Lewis rats were used as donors and the female Brown Norway(BN) rats were used as recipients.Intercepted the thoracic aorta of lewis rats about one and a half centimeter. Transplanted it on the abdominal aorta of BN rats. The activity and weight change of BN rats were observed everyday until 1 week after transplantation. Then observed these index one time a week. The transplanted aortas were harvested at 8 weeks after transplantation. The intimal thickening were observed by pathological. The expression of CD3,CD68 and α-actin on transplanted aorta were observed by immunohistochemistry. Resuts All operations were finished within 2 hours. No recipients died during operation. All recipients could survival more than 8 weeks. The symptoms of bowing back, hair shedding and weight loss was appeared after transplantation. The weight of the rats were upturn at 4 or 5 days after transplantation. About 1 week after transplantation, all situations of the rats were recovery to the lever before transplantation. 8 weeks after transplantation the intimal thickening of the transplanted aortas were observed obviously by pathological. And the expressions of CD3, CD68 and α-actin on aortic allograft were observed. Conclusion The intimal thickening and the expressions of CD3, CD68 and α-actin on aortic allograft were typical expressions of chronic rejection. So this aortic transplantation model is feasible and reliable for studying chronic rejection.

China Pharmacy 2007;0(34):-
OBJECTIVE:To establish an RP-HPLC method for determination of plasma concentration of glimepiride (GM) in Beagle dogs. METHODS: Plasma sample was separated on Agilent Eclipse XDB-C8 column with column temperature kept at 30 ℃,and the mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-methanol-10 mmol?L-1 potassium dihydrogen phosphate (65∶40∶95,pH value adjusted to 7.2) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1. The UV detection wavelength was set at 227 nm. Plasma sample were pretreated by liquid-liquid extaction with gemfibrozil as an internal standard. Plasma concentrations of GM in 6 Beagle dogs at different time points were determined after a single sublingual dosing of 2 mg GM spray. RESULTS: The linear range of GM was 50~2 500 ng?mL-1 with a lowest detection limit of 20 ng?mL-1. The intra-day RSD and inter-day RSD were all less than 15%. The extraction recovery rate was 71.27%~103.5%,and the methodological recovery rate was 87.97%~ 98.95%. CONCLUSION: This method is simple in sample treatment and sensitive, and it is applicable for analysis of GM in biological sample.

Objective To study the effect of combining recombinet interferon α -2b gel and loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) to treat cervical intraepithehal neoplasia (CIN). Methods Prospective, randomly and control study was progressed in 80 patients with CIN Ⅱ-Ⅲ. Before carrying out LEEP, all women were performed high-risk HPV DNA detection by the method of HC2. Among them, forty women were. assigned to be the study group, in which the patients were added to use recombinet interferon α -2b gel for three courses of treatment before and after LEEP, the other forty women who carried out LEEP simply were assigned to be the control group. All patients were examined by hquid-based thinprep cytology test (TCT) and colposcopic site-specific biopsies to doubtful focus of infection in the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th month after treatment, and judged the effect by using HC2 in the 6th and 12th month after treatment. Results Eighty patients were not detected residue and recidivafion of CIN diagnosed by coiposcopic site-specific biopsies to doubtful focus of infection. In the study group, 3 women were abnormal detected by TCT, 37 women were negative detected by HC2, the negative rate was 92.5% when LEEP ended 6 months. The cure rate was 100.0% when LEEP ended 12 months. In the control group, 21 women were abnormal detected by TCT, 19 women were negative detected by HC2, the negative rate was 47.5% when LEEP ended 6 months, 8 women were negative detected by TCT, 25 women were negative detected by HC2, the cure rate was 62.5% when LEEP ended 12 months. In the 6th and 12th month after LEEP, the difference was distinguished in the cure rate between two groups. Conclusions There is double interrupted effects by combining recombinets interferon α -2b gel and LEEP to treat CIN. It can raise the one-time cure rate of the patients with CIN.

Objective To investigate the effects of propofol anesthesia on cognitive function of aged rats. Methods Ninety-six male aged SD rats (16 months) were collected and given propofol anesthesia via tail vein catheter. At 7, 30, and 90 d after anesthesia, fear conditioning experiment was performed to test long-term memory of the aged rats (12 rats at each time point, total 36 rats). At 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 d after anesthesia, spontaneous alternation in Y-maze experiment was performed to test spatial working memory of the aged rats (12 rats at each time point, total 60 rats). Results There were no statistical differences in long-term memory at 7, 30, and 90 d after anesthesia between the propofol group and control group (P>0.05). While spatial working memory of aged rats in propofol group was impaired at 1 and 2 d after anesthesia (P<0.05), working memory of aged rats in propofol group was normal at 3, 4, and 5 d after anesthesia and there were no statistical differences between the experiment and control group (P>0.05). Conclusions These results indicate that clinical dose propofol anesthesia will not induce long-term memory impairment of aged rats, although it impairs spatial working memory of aged rats within 48 h after anesthesia.
