1.EFFECTS OF DITHIZONE ON Zn METABOLISM IN MATERNAL RATS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF BRAIN OF THEIR PUPS
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(02):-
The changes of zine content in serum and feces observed after intragastric administration of a certain dose of dithizone to the pregnant rats in their third trimester for one week, and the developing status of brain of their pups were studied. The result showed that the total fecal exerction of zine during 24 hours increased and serum zine content decreased significantly aftcr continual administration of dithizone for one week in maternal rats. It suggested that dithizone may be used for making animal model of zine deficiency. The body and brain weights, brain protein content and RNA/DNA ratio of the newborn delivered by the zine-deficiency maternal rats decrcased significantly. This indicates that the maternal zine dificiency in third trimester gives side effects on the development of their fctal brain.

A new UPLC method was developed for the simultaneous determination of eleven characteristic flavonoid glycosides in Ginkgo biloba leaves. The natural occurrence of flavonoid glycosides in Ginkgo biloba leaves within one vegetative season was investigated for the first time. The analysis was performed on an Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse Plus C18 column (50 mm x 4.6 mm, 1.8 microm), the mobile phase A was acetonitrile, the mobile phase B was 0.4% phosphate aqueous solution in a gradient elution at a flow rate of 0.6 mL x min(-1), the detection was carried out at 360 nm. The result showed that eleven flavonoid glycosides had good linearity with good average recovery, separately. The method was proved to be accurate, rapid and good reproducible for the quality evaluation of Ginkgo biloba leaves, and provide an easy and rapid means for the quantitative analysis of flavonoid glycosides and their content fluctuation with seasons.

Implant surface modified coating can improve its osteoinductivity, about which simple calcium phosphate coating has been extensively studied. But it has slow osteointegration speed and poor antibacterial property, while other metal ions added, such as nano zinc ion, can compensate for these deficiencies. This paper describes the incorporation form, the effect on physical and chemical properties of the material and the antibacterial property of nano zinc, and summarizes the material's biological property given by calcium ion, zinc ion and inorganic phosphate (Pi), mainly focusing on the influence of these three inorganic ions on osteoblast proliferation, differentiation, protein synthesis and matrix mineralization in order to present the positive function of zinc doped calcium phosphate in the field of bone formation.

Objective To investigate the effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on the proliferation of neural stem cells in the subventricular zone (SVZ) and the expression of miR-9 in the ipsilesional hemisphere of rats with focal cerebral ischemia. Methods A rat model of acute focal cerebral ischemia was established using transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO).Rats were then randomly assigned to a sham group,a control group or an rTMS group.Daily rTMS treatments (10 trains with 30 pulses per train and 50-second breaks between trains at 120% of the resting motor threshold) were targeted at the ipsilesional MI cortex beginning one day after the tMCAO.After the treatment the proliferation of neural stem cells in the ipsilesional SVZ was identified by double immunofluorescence staining (BrdU/nestin).The expression of miR-9 was evaluated using quantitative PCR.Results Compared with the other two groups,BrdU + Nestin + cells in the ipsilesional SVZs of the rTMS group increased and the expression of miR-9 decreased significantly. Conclusion rTMS can promote the proliferation of neural stem cells and inhibit the expression of miR-9 in the ipsilesional hemisphere after focal cerebral ischemia.
