We began to restore tetracycline stained teeth with a visible light cured compound resin in 1986. Thirty-three cases, a total number of 86teeth were cured with follow-up for 6-12 months. The beneficial rate was over 90% This paper presents the therapeutic method and its procedures for three (?) of tetracycline stained teeth. and this paper also discusses the cause of fail ure cases. We suggest the conclusion that this method is a simple, better one, with some advantages: no need for polishing teeth or polishing little, cavities well closing and no obvious stimulation to the dental pulps.

AIM　To establish a new animal model of gastric cancer with high incidence rate and short experimental period. METHODS　Using N-methyl-N′-nitro-N-nitrasoguanidine(MNNG) combining ucler to induce rats to gastric cancer, taking the pathological situation of rats as the standard of canceration. RESULTS　Six rats coming from model group were found as gastric cacinoma, the incidence rate of gastric cancer can reach forty percent. CONCLUSION　This method can induce high incidence rate of gastric cancer during short experimental period. It deserves imroving and developing.

Objective To explore the clinical value of expression of CEA and CK-20 detected by flow cytometry (FCM) in peritoneal washes on predicting peritoneal metastasis and prognosis of gastric carcinama.Methods Clinicopathological characteristics and follow up data of 105 patients with gastric carcinoma who were underwent D2 radical resection (R0) were collected.Peritoneal washes was collected.Peritoneal lavage cytology examination (PLC) was used to find intraperitoneal free cancer cells (IFCC).FCM was used to determine the CEA and CK-20 expressions.Meanwhile,13 patients with benign lesion on the stomach and the gastric carcinama cell line SGC-7901 were served as the negative and positive control,respectively.Results Positive expression of CEA was in 48 (45.7 ％) patients,of CK-20 was found in 67 (63.8 ％) patients,and of CEA and CK-20 was in 85 (81.0 ％) patients by FCM.However,positive expression of IFCCs was found in 31 patients(29.5 ％) by PLC.The expression of CEA and CK-20 were related to serosa invasion,lymphnode metastasis and pTNM stage (P ＜ 0.05).The median survival of patients with negative expression of both CEA and CK-20 (n =20) was significantly longer those with positive expression (n =30)(52 vs 18 months,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Combined Detection of CEA and CK-20 in peritoneal washes by FCM can be used to predict peritoneal micrometastasis and may predict the prognosis of gastric carcinoma.

Objectives To explore cholesteryl ester transfer protein(CETP)level in male patients with different degrees of coronary artery lesion and its clinical significance.Methods ELISA was used to measure CETP of 42 male patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)and 49 healthy male controls.The patients of CHD groups were subdivided into mono-vessel,ambi-vessel,multi-vessel lesion groups;localized,diffuse lesion groups;and mild,severe stenosis groups according to coronary angiography.Results The CETP level of patients with CHD(1.37?1.07 mg/L)was significantly higher than that of healthy control(0.99?0.53 mg/L)(P

The effect of inhibition of proliferation of a novel human megakaryoblastic leukemia cell line (HIMeg) by two physiological factors, 1.25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 [1,25(OH)2 D3] and 13-cis-retinoic acid (RA), was investigated. At the range of 10-9 - 10-6 mol/L, 1,25(OH)2 D3 and RA showed significant inhibition of proliferation of the megakaryoblastic leukemia cells,which was demonstrated by count of survival cells,incorporation of [3H]-TdR and [3H]-UR, and cloning efficiency. From above, it can further explain the m.echanism of differentiation-inducers and the effect of 1,25(OH)2D3 on myelofibrosis. It is possible for 1,25(OH)2D3 and RA to be used for a new -treatment.

Objective To investigate the the efficacy and safety of recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) in the treatment of acute non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients with heart failure.Methods 80 patients with heart failure caused by acute non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction were chosen,they were divided into the observation group and control group based on a random number table,each group included 40 patients.The observation group were treated with intravenous injection of recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide,the control group were treated with intravenous nitroglycerin.vital signs,dyspnea,brain natriuretic peptide (BNP),associated hemodynamic changes and adverse reactions of two groups were compared before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate in observation group was 87.5％ (35/40),which were significantly higher than 50.0％ (20/40) of the control group,there were significant difference (x2 =13.09,P ＜ 0.05).In the observation group,after treatment,the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and average hourly urine output were significantly higher than those of before treatment (t =26.40,3.22,all P ＜ 0.05),and the brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) concentration levels were significantly lower than those of before treatment (t =14.11,all P ＜ 0.05).The control group before and after treatment LVEF,BNP and changes in urine levels were not significantly.Conclusion In the treatment of heart failure caused by acute non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction,the recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) has significant effect,feasible and safe with few side effects,which has a high clinical value.

Objective To evaluate the effect of isoflurane or sevoflurane inhalation before and after gestation on the offspring brain development. Methods Thirty female adult Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned into 5 groups(n=6 each):control group(group C),group that ex?posed to isoflurane with the concentration of 1.6%for 6 hours before gestation(group BI),group that exposed to isoflurane with the concentration of 1.6%at the 6th,10th,14th and 18th day for 6 hours(group PI),group that exposed to sevoflurane with the concentration of 2.4%for 6 hours before gestation(group BS),and group exposed to sevoflurane with the concentration of 2.4%at the 6th,10th,14th and 18th day for 6 hours after gestation (group PS). Twelve offspring rats from pregnant rats in each group were chosen on the day of birth(T1),and 7th,14th and 28th days after birth(T2, T3 and T4)and sacrificed,and the hippocampi were then isolated. Hematoxylin and eosin stain were adopted to observe the tissue pathological change. Electron microscope was used to observe the neuron ultrastructure change of hippocampus. Immolunohistochemistry was used to detect cas?pase?3,the expression of growth associated protein?43(GAP?43)and neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS). Results Compared with group C, no significant change was found in caspase?3,GAP?43 and nNOS expression in offspring rat hippocampus in groups BI and BS(P>0.05),and no damage change in hippocampal was seen by HE staining and electron microscopy. In group PI and PB,the expression of caspase?3 was significantly up?regulated,the expression of GAP?43 and nNOS was down?regulated at T1 to T3(P<0.01),and structural changes in cell were seen by electron microscopy. In group PI,significant pathological changes in hippocampal were seen by HE staining at T1 to T3. Compared with group PI,the expres?sion of GAP?43 and nNOS was significantly up?regulated(P<0.01),and the expression of caspase?3 was down?regulated at T1 to T3(P<0.01). Conclusion Isoflurane or sevoflurane inhalation before gestation does not affect the offspring brain development,while isoflurane or sevoflurane in?halation after gestation can induce transient abnormal change of offspring brain development,and isoflurane′s toxicity was greater than sevoflurane.

Objective To evaluate the effect of isoflurane or sevoflurane inhalation before and after gestation on the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor expression in offspring rat hippocampus.Methods Thirty female adult Sprague-Dawley rats,aged 3 months,weighing 250-300 g,were randomly assigned into 5 groups (n =6 each):control group (group C),exposure to isoflurane before gestation group (group BI),exposure to isoflurane during gestation period group (group PI),exposure to sevoflurane before gestation group (group BS),exposure to sevoflurane during gestation period group (group PS).The rats inhaled 1.6％ isoflurane for 6 h at 1 day before gestation in group BI.The rats inhaled 1.6％ isoflurane for 6 h at 6,10,14 and 18 day gestation in group PI.The rats were exposed to 2.4％ sevoflurane for 6 h before gestation in group BS.The rats were exposed to 2.4％ sevoflurane for 6 h at 6,10,14 and 18 day gestation in group PS.Twelve offspring rats from pregnant rats in each group were chosen on the day of birth (T1),and 7th,14th and 28th days after birth (T2-4) and sacrificed,and the hippocampi were then isolated for determination of the expression NMDA receptor (NR1,NR2A and NR2B).Results Compared with group C,no significant change was found in NMDA receptor expression in off spring rat hippocampus in groups BI and BS (P ＞ 0.05),and the expression of NR1 and NR2A protein and mRNA was significantly up-regulated,and the expression of NR2B protein and mRNA was down-regulated at T1-3 (P ＜0.05),and no significant change was found in NMDA receptor expression at T4 in groups PI and PS (P ＞ 0.05).Compared with group PI,the expression of NRI and NR2A protein and mRNA was significantly up-regulated,and the expression of NR2B protein and mRNA was down-regulated at T1 3 (P ＜ 0.05 or 0.01),and no significant change was found in N MDA receptor expression at T4 in group PS (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Isoflurane or sevoflurane inhalation before gestation does not affect the NMDA receptor expression in offspring rat hippocampus,while isoflurane or sevoflurane inhalation after gestation can induce abnormal expression of the NMDA receptor in offspring rat hippocampus,which may result in apoptosis in hippocampal cells and abnormality in the development of nervous system and cognitive function.

BACKGROUND:With unique structure and physicochemical property, carbon nanotubes have promising application prospects in the fields of drug delivery, biosensor and biomaterials. However, carbon nanotubes are highly hydrophobic and trend to aggregate, and thus carbon nanotubes are hard to be dispersed in solution. Furthermore, carbon nanotubes induce blood coagulation and have cytotoxicity, which greatly limit the application of carbon nanotubes. OBJECTIVE:To prepare heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes and to study the effects of heparin-immobilization on the water solubility, stability as wel as biocompatibility of carbon nanotubes. METHODS:By the method of covalent grafting, heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes was fabricated and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and carbazole assay. Transmission electron microscopy was used to investigate the dispersing performance and suspension stability of heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes in aqueous solution. Anti-Xa activity and activated partial thromboplastin time assays were used to measure the anticoagulation activity of heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes. MTT assay was used to evaluate the cytocompatibility of heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Heparin was covalently linked to the surface of single-wal ed carbon nanotubes successful y. The amount of heparin on single-wal ed carbon nanotubes was measured to be 257.53 mg/g. Heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes were wel dispersed and stable in an aqueous solution without aggregation. The anti-Xa activity of heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes was measured to be 36.53 U/mg, suggesting a significant anticoagulant activity. Further study of activated partial thromboplastin time assay found that the anticoagulant effect of heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes could be prolonged. MTT assay revealed that heparinized single-wal ed carbon nanotubes had no cytotoxicity and showed good cytocompatibility. Taken together, the immobilization of heparin on single-wal ed carbon nanotubes wil not only improve its solubility and stability in water, but also endow it with excellent biocompatibility.
