Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2008;14(10):977-979
Objective To investigate the diabetes mellitus(DM) related knowledge of DM patients and analyze the factors influencing health education effect. Methods Besides drug treatment,156 old patients with type 2 DM received intensive diabetes education(special lectures on diabetes control) every month for the first half a year, then once every 3 months to 1 year. The frequency receiving intensi000ve education of patients was recorded and changes of fast blood glucose(FBG),postprandial 2 hours blood glucose(P2hBG) and HbA1c were monitored. Results The number of patients receiving intensive education decreased from 156 at start to 33 at the 12th month, the compliance rate was only 21.2%.The full data of 32 cases showed that the levels of FBG and P2hBG decreased significantly(all P<0.01),but the level of HbA1c was no changed. Conclusion Health education can improve the therapeutic effect, but the compliance rate of patients is very low,it influences the health education effect of DM patients.

Objective To observe the eftccts of the extract of termitarium on the climbing ability and life span of Parkinson disease (PD)drosophila(Ddc GAL4/+ ;UAS-wild type α-synuclein/I ),and to explore its mechanism of anti- PD. Methods The termitarium was extracted by ethanol.PD drosophilas overexpressed α-synuclein were fed with 1,10 and 100 mg of termitarium per 100 g culture medium. The climbing ability and life span of drosophilas and pathological changes of its brain tissue (Congo red staining) were observed and compared among different concentrations. Results Termitarium enhanced the climbing ability of PD drosophilas and the most significant improvement appeared from 18 d to 36 d after eclosion, increasing with more termitarium concentrations and growing age of PD drosophilas.Termitarium also prolonged the life span among which male and female drosophila were longer 31.82 % ~ 3.34 %,1.47 % ~ 3.34 % as compared with PD drosophila control (all P<0.05).The brain cells number in the PD drosophilas were increased and empty bubble was decreased by rermitarium, accompanying with improvement of behavior and life span. Conclusions Termitarium can improve behavior and prolong life span of PD drosophilas.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of prenatal ultrasonography in diagnosing fetal aortic atresia. Methods Ultrasound images of 9 cases with fetal aortic atresia confirmed by autopsy were retrospectively analysed and summarized. Results Fetal echocardiography showed ascending aorta and aortic arch were thin in seven cases and unclear in two cases.Color Doppler flow imaging showed fetal aorta no blood connection with left ventricle and reverse blood flow in aortic arch among all 9 cases. There were 6 cases associated with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, two cases associated with ventricular septal defect and well-developed left ventricle, one case complicated with complete atrioventricular septal defect.Nine cases were detected at average gestational age (26.0 ± 2.6) weeks, minimum gestational age was only 16 weeks pregnant. Conclusions Prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of fetal aortic atresia has important clinical value.Ascending aorta and aortic arch are thin or unclear,no blood flow connection between fetal aorta and left ventricle and reverse blood flow in aortic arch are major diagnostic evidences.Color Doppler flow imaging is helpful for early diagnosis.

Objective:To investigate the regulation and mechanism of chronic Trichinella spiralis ( Ts) infection on liver immunopathology in mice co-infected with Plasmodium berghei ANKA( PbA). Methods:According to body weight, 64 specific pathogen free female Kunming mice (6 - 8 weeks old, weighting 22 - 25 g) were divided into 4 groups by using random number table method. Control group: uninfected; Ts group: mice were mono-infected with 30 Ts larvae by oral gavage on day 0; PbA group: mice were mono-infected with 1 × 10 6PbA-infected red blood cells in 0.1 ml of phosphate buffer (PBS) administered by intraperitoneal injection on day 121; co-infected ( Ts+PbA) group: mice were infected with 30 Ts larvae by oral gavage and intraperitoneal injected with 1 × 10 6PbA-infected red blood cells in 0.1 ml PBS on day 121 after Ts infection. There were 16 mice in each group, in which 10 mice in each group were monitored for the survival rate. The peripheral red blood cell parasitemia of PbA group and Ts + PbA group were monitored every other day by light microscope examination of Giemsa-stained thin tail-blood smears from day 3 after PbA infection. Mice were sacrificed at day 135 after Ts infection and/or at day 15 after PbA infection, the mouse body weight and liver weight were measured, and the liver index were calculated. Ts-infected mice were monitored by a light microscope examination of diaphragm compression slide. Under a light microscope, the liver pathology and liver fibrosis of mice were observed and compared with hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and Sirius red staining, respectively. The F4/80 + Kupffer cells in liver of mice were examined by immunohistochemical staining. Results:After infection with Ts or PbA, Ts larvae cysts were observed in diaphragm tissues and PbA were observed in red blood cells under the light microscope. After PbA infection, there was no significant difference in survival rate between PbA group and Ts+ PbA group ( P > 0.05). Compared with PbA group, the peripheral red blood cell parasitemia was significantly decreased in Ts+ PbA group on days 11 and 15 after PbA infection (%: 27.104 ± 7.623 vs 45.032 ± 9.849, 60.218 ± 2.776 vs 76.778 ± 6.351, P < 0.05), and the liver index and the liver pathology score were significantly decreased in Ts+ PbA group ( P < 0.05). Sirius red staining showed that the positive area of liver fibrosis in Ts+ PbA group was significantly higher than that in PbA group ( P < 0.05). Immunohistochemical staining showed that the average optical density value of F4/80 + Kupffer cells in Ts+ PbA group was significantly higher than that in PbA group ( P < 0.01). Conclusion:Chronic Ts infection may reduce the peripheral red blood cell parasitemia, increase F4/80 + Kupffer cells expression in liver, and attenuate liver pathology in mice co-infected with PbA.

Objective To explore the value of OSCE system combined with intelligent network in-formation platform in clinical skills assessment of obstetrics and gynecology. Methods 112 clinical medi-cal students who participated in the practice of gynecology and obstetrics in Second Military Medical Uni-versity in 2017 were randomly divided into the experimental group (network information OSCE) and the control group (traditional OSCE). The teaching results were evaluated by the questionnaire survey of teachers and students and the examination results as well. The statistical analysis was made with the Chi-square test and the t test respectively. Results According to the questionnaire survey of two skills assessment methods, the satisfaction index of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group in both teachers and students, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total time of examination in the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The final total score and the results of case analysis and clinical operation examination of experi-mental group were all higher than those of the control group, but there was no statistical difference (P>0.05). Conclusion OSCE combined with the network information system has an unparalleled advantage in the assessment of the obstetrics and gynecology department. The system will promote clinical education of ob-stetrics and gynecology and the evaluation of the clinical ability of the medical students to a new height, which deserves popularization.
