Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of butyl flufenamate ointment for the treatment of solar dermatitis.Methods Sixty-four patients with solar dermatitis were randomly divided into the observation group (n =32) and control group (n =32) to topically apply butyl flufenamate ointment and diclofenac sodium cream,respectively,for 3 weeks.The efficacy was evaluated by lesion scores and a visual analog scale for pruritus.Results At the end of the treatment,4 patients in the observation group were clinically cured,19 markedly improved,17 improved,and 2 showed no improvement; meanwhile,2 patients in the control group were clinically cured,11 markedly improved,14 improved,and 5 showed no improvement.The total response rate was significantly higher (93.8％ vs.84.4％,P ＜ 0.05),while the pruritus score was significantly lower (P ＜ 0.05) in the observation group than in the control group.Conclusion Butyl flufenamate ointment is superior to dicofenac sodium cream in terms of both efficacy and anti-pruritic effect.

Objective To study the effects of nutgrass galingale rhizome decotion on contractile activity of uterine smooth muscle strips of non-pregnant rats.Methods We selected 60 Wistar non-pregnant rats of weight 250-300 g to record the effects of nutgrass galingale rhizome decotion(1.0 g/L,2.0 g/L,4.0 g/L,8.0 g/L) on contractile activity of uterine smooth muscle strips of non-pregnant rats with Biolap 410 Biological System.Four antagonists,diphenhydramine(2?10-6mol/L),phentolamine(2?10-6mol/L), verapamil(2?10-7mol/L),and indomethacin(2?10-5mol/L) were used to study their mechanisms respectively.Results Water extract of nutgrass galingale rhizome(4?10-3kg/L) could significantly weaken uterine contractile activity of non-pregnant rats,lessen the frequencies,shorten the duration and lower the amplitude of contractile activity.Conclusion The effect of nutgrass galingale rhizome on contractile activity of uterine smooth muscle strips in rats may be mainly associated with prostaglandin synthese or release nothing with L-voltage-dependant calcium channels,H1 receptor or ? receptor.

Objective To observe the change of the balance between regulatory T (Treg) cells and T helper 17(Th17) cells in peripheral blood of the patients with serofast syphilis .Methods From January 2010 to September 2012 ,28 patients with serofast syphilis in our department were selected into the observation group and 30 normal persons were selected into control group .Flow cytometry was used to measure the expression of Treg cells ,Th17 cells ,specific transcription factors Foxp3 and ROR-γ in the pe-ripheral blood .The comparative analysis was carried out .Results The proportion of Treg cells in the peripheral blood of the obser-vation group was (34 .02% ± 12 .31% ) ,which was higher than (21 .86% ± 8 .24% ) in the control group(P<0 .05) ,and the pro-portion of Th17 cells in the peripheral blood of the observation group was (3 .08% ± 2 .17% ) ,which was lower than (9 .13% ± 1 .96% ) in the control group(P<0 .01);the expression level of Foxp3 of CD4+ T cells was (2946 .35 ± 995 .63) in the observation group ,which was higher than (2468 .74 ± 869 .63) in the control group(P< 0 .05),and the expression level of ROR-γwas (1438 .29 ± 659 .31) ,which was lower than(1831 .25 ± 426 .37) in the control group(P<0 .05) .All above differences had signifi-cantly statistical significance .Conclusion The Treg/Th17 cell balance is abnormal in peripheral blood of the patients with serofast syphilis .This cellular immunity suppression of human body may be the reason leading to serofast syphilis .

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of preoperative prophylactic TACE for resectable primary hepatocellular carcinoma patients by mata analysis.Methods The research was conducted by retrieving China biomedical literature database,Chinese CNKI,VIP,Wanfang and PubMed,OVID,Embase,Cochrane library.Randomized controlled trials were evaluated by using the modified Jadad score and the case-control study were evaluated by using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale respectively.All trials involved were analyzed by Stata12.0.Results 2 316 patients came from 3 randomized controlled trials (RCT) and 8 case-control articles including 752 patients in preoperative prophylactic TACE groups and 1 564 patients from liver resection only group.There was no significant difference in the operation time and blood loss between the two groups (operation time:SMD =0.058,95 ％ CI:-0.166-0.050,P =0.290;the amount of bleeding:SMD =-0.098,95 ％ CI:-0.204--0.08,P =0.070).The hospital stay was slightly prolonged in the preoperative prophylactic TACE groups (SMD =-0.86,95％ CI:-1.57--0.14,P =0.02).There was no significant difference between two groups in the 3-year overall survival and 5-year overall survival (the 3-year overall survival:RR =1.039,95％ CI:0.964-1.121,P =0.314;the 5-year overall survival:RR =0.96,95％ CI:0.86-1.08,P =0.505).Conclusion The Preoperative TACE fails to reduce the operation time and intraoperative blood loss,only prolonging the length of hospital stay.While the long-term survival rate remained unimproved.

Objective To express and characterize the virus-like particles( VLPs) of H5 subtype containing of hemagglutinin ( HA ) and matrix 1 ( M1 ) protein by using Baculovirus-insect cells .Methods Full length genes encoding HA protein from the A/Indonesia/05/2005(H5N1) strain and the M1 protein from the A/Anhui/01/2005 ( H5N1 ) strain were cloned into a baculovirus expression vector to construct pFBD-M1-HA.The expression of HA and M1 proteins were detected by Western blot and indirect immunoflu-orescence after the transfection of Spodoptra frugiperda (Sf9) insect cells with recombinant baculovirus.Pu-rified VLPs were analyzed by SDS-PAGE and visualized with transmission electron microscope.The biologi-cal activity of purified VLPs was detected by hemagglutination test.Results The HA and M1 proteins of H5 subtype expressed by baculovirus-insect cells could be self-assembled into the functional mature VLPs.The hemagglutination titer of VLPs was as high as 1024 HAU/50μl.Conclusion The H5 subtype VLPs as pre-pared in this study would pave a way for the development of a candidate recombinant A ( H5) vaccine.

Objective:To investigate the functional status of dendritic cells(DCs)in oral leukoplakia(OLK)tissues.Methods:The expression of DC-specific markers CD1 a,CD209,CD1 23 and CD83 in 20 cases of OLK with abnormal dysplasia,1 0 with simple dys-plasia and 1 0 of normal oral mucosa tissues was examined by immunohistochemistry.Results:CD1 a and CD209 positive DCs were found in all cases.More CD1 a positive Langehans cells(LCs)in lamina propria were found in OLK with abnormal dysplasia than in normal o-ral mucosa and OLK with simple dysplasia(P <0.01 ).A great mount of CD209 positive stromal DCs were recruited in OLK.There was no CD83 positive and CD1 23 positive cell in normal oral mucosa,however,CD83 positive mature DCs and CD1 23 positive plasmacytoid DCs(PDCs)were observed in OLK(P <0.01 ).Conclusion:OLK is characterized by the recruitment of different subsets of DCs,the different DC subsets may play an important role in the development of OLK.

Objective Assessment of right ventricular function in patients with atrial septal defect (ASD) is difficult. The Doppler myocardial performance index (MPI) may provide a method of assessing function in these patients. The purposes of this study were to evaluate the right ventricular function and its changes in patients with ASD after transcatheter closure of ASD. Methods MPI, defined as the sum of isovolumic relaxation time and isovolumic contraction time derived by ejection time, was measured from tricuspid inflow and right ventricular outflow; Doppler velocity profiles recorded during routine echocardiography. Twenty nine patients ( 13 men, 16 women;mean age 25.28 ± 12.69, range 6 to 57 years) were diagnosed to secundum ASD [the stretched diameters of ASD were from 9 To 36 (24.91 ±7.98) mm], and had a successfully placed Amplatzer septal occluder (ASO) (the sizes of ASO were from 11 to 40 mm ); there were 81 sex-matched, age-matched healthy people (control group 41men, 40 women; mean age 29.02 ± 14.22, range 4 to 45 years).MPI was measured again on 3 days and 1 month after closure of ASD. Change in the study group was assessed and compared to the control subjects with structurally normal hearts. A complete 2- dimensional and Doppler echocardiographic examination was performed in all study groups. Results 1) The isovolumic relaxation and isovolumic contraction times [respectively(77.59 ± 14.39)ms vs (60.93 ± 12.94)ms, P＜0.0001; (28.28 ± 10.88)ms vs (23.64 ± 9.01)ms, P=0.027] were prolonged, and ejection time [(260.65 ± 21.86 )ms vs (271.85 ± 21.92)ms, P=0.033] was shortened in patients with ASD compared with that in control subjects, resulting in a marked increase in the MPI(0.40 ± 0.07 vs 0.31 ± 0.05, P＜0.0001) from normal values; 2) by Pearson's correlations, the MPI had no correlation with heart rate and blood pressure in control subjects and patients with ASD, but it correlated positively with age in patients with ASD; 3) by Pearson's correlations, the MPI correlated positively with the diameter of ASD and pulmonary artery pressure; 4) after transcatheter closure of ASD, the MPI decreased markedly. Conclusions 1) MPI is a conceptually new, simple, and reproducible Doppler index in patients with ASD; 2) MPI is free from the effect of age, heart rate and blood pressure; (3) MPI appears to be relatively dependent on changes in the diameter of ASD and pulmonary artery pressure; 4) the right ventricular function was improved after transcatheter closure of ASD.

Objective To investigate the expression of heat shock protein-70(HSP70)in acute lung injury induced by paraquat poisoning.Methods A total of 72 Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups(n=24 each group)and intraperitoneally injected with normal saline in group A,20 mg/kg paraquat in group B,and 40 mg/kg paraquat in group C.The lungs of rats were excised 1,3,6,12,and 24 hours after the injection,respectively.The expression of HSP70 in the lung tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot.Results Paraquat induced acute lung injury in groups B and C.In group B,the expression of HSP70 increased at 2 hours,reached the peak at 6 hours,decreased at 12 hours,and returned to the baseline level at 24 hours.In group C,the expression of HSP70 increased at 1 hour,reached the peak at 3 hours,and returned to the baseline level at 24 hours.Conclusion Paraquat-induced acute lung injury may contribute to the enhanced expression of HSP70 in the bronchus,bronchiole,and alveolar epithelial cells,which indicates that HSP70 has a protective effect on lung injury.
