Sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy is a reversible myocardial dysfunction due to sepsis, which may be severe enough to complicate cardiogenic shock, and without effective drug and with high mortality during the acute phase. A case of sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy complicated with cardiogenic shock was treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Shunde Hospital Southern Medical University. A 37 years old female patient was admitted because she had suffered repeated fever for 5 days, chest tightness and abdominal pain for 3 days. At the same time, there were severe cardiac depression and abdominal infection, which could be explained by the monismtheory of sepsis cardiomyopathy. The cardiogenic shock patient was not improved after antibiotic therapy and hemodynamic support, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support was prescribed. The circulation failure was smoothly got through with ECMO and was transfer from ICU to ordinary ward. Computed tomographic angiography (CTA) of abdominal aorta and colonoscopy indicated lesions of small intestine. The diagnosis of infection and bleeding in ileum diverticulum was confirmed during the operation and the lesions was removed. She recovered and was discharged 1 week after operation. Through the case review, we aim to improve the awareness of sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy and the value of ECMO support in cardiogenic shock.

Objective:
To understand the level of nutritional literacy and its influencing factors among schoolage children in grades 4-9 in Guizhou Province, and to explore the relationship between nutritional literacy and physical health, so as to provide reference for improving nutritional literacy and physical health of schoolage children.
Methods:
Using multistage stratified cluster sampling method, 1 155 schoolage children in grades 4-6 in elementary school and grades 7-9 in secondary schools in three prefectural and municipal cities of Guizhou Province (Zunyi, Tongren, and Bijie) were sampled from February to July 2023, and were surveyed for nutritional literacy by using the "Food and Nutritional Literacy Questionnaire for Chinese Schoolage Children", and their physical health data (data on body measurement indicators, such as height, weight, lung capacity, and vertical jump) were obtained from the physical health surveillance platform. Pearson correlation analysis and binary Logistic regression modeling were used to explore the association between nutritional literacy and physical health.
Results:
The nutritional literacy score of the study population was (63.50±8.63), and the scores of each level of nutritional literacy in descending order were interactivity (66.09±13.99), functionality (63.84±8.80), and criticism (61.15±14.65); and the scores of cognitive domain of nutritional literacy, and skill domain were (64.71±10.77) (62.97±9.21); food selection, food preparation, and food intake dimension scores were (64.68±13.52) (56.39±12.17) (63.63±10.04), respectively. Differences in the total nutritional literacy scores of schoolaged children who were only children or not, by gender, ethnicity, grade level, primary caregiver, primary caregivers education, and family economic situation were statistically significant (t/F=2.88, -3.28, 5.02, 18.32, 4.67, 32.47, 32.53, P<0.05); the physical health pass rate was 85.8%, and the mean scores of the total physical health score, physical form, physical function, and physical fitness dimensions were (71.86±10.52) (93.29±12.06) (72.12±14.42) (67.26±13.13), respectively; after controlling for confounders, the nutritional literacy scores were positively correlated with physical health (OR=1.03, 95%CI=1.01-1.05, P<0.05).
Conclusion
Nutritional literacy scores of schoolage children in grades 4-9 in Guizhou Province are low, and there is a positive correlation between nutritional literacy and physical health in this school age children.

This study summarized and analyzed the current acne-relieving Chinese medicinal health products and Chinese patent medicines, aiming at providing references for the formulation and development of acne-relieving health products. The information on acne-relieving health products published by the Department of Special Food Safety Supervision and Management, the State Administration for Market Regulation( SAMR) was retrieved, and the Chinese patent medicines on DRUGDATAEXPY were searched. Microsoft Excel and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System V2. 5( TCMISS) were employed to statistically analyze the characteristics of formulations. Forty-three acne-relieving health products were obtained, including 40 ones containing Chinese herbal medicines. Six Chinese herbal medicines showed a usage frequency ≥8,with 61 times in use totally, including Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma( 13),Lonicerae Japonicae Flos( 12),Taraxaci Herba( 11),ALOE( 9),Carthami Flos( 8),and Rhei Radix et Rhizoma( 8). A total of 29 Chinese patent medicines with similar efficacy were collected in DRUGDATAEXPY. Nine Chinese herbal medicines showed a usage frequency ≥6,with 63 times in use, including Rhei Radix et Rhizoma( 10),Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma( 8),Scutellariae Radix( 8),Lonicerae Japonicae Flos( 7),Angelicae Sinensis Radix( 6),Paeoniae Radix Rubra( 6),Astragali Radix( 6),Paeoniae Radix Alba( 6),and Gardeniae Fructus( 6). Through unsupervised hierarchical entropy-based clustering of the above-mentioned Chinese medicinal health products and Chinese patent medicines, five and three new formulas were obtained, respectively. The selection of Chinese herbal medicines was consistent with the principles of traditional Chinese medicine( TCM) theories in relieving acne,i. e.,dispelling exterior wind, ventilating lungs, clearing heat, dissipating mass, promoting diuresis, relaxing bowels, removing toxin, activating blood, resolving stasis, eliminating phlegm, and regulating Qi. According to the " lung governing skin and body hair" and " interior-exterior relationship between lung and large intestine" in TCM theories, the idea that acne could be treated by relieving constipation was proposed, which provided new methods and references for the research and development of Chinese medicinal health products.

BACKGROUNDBu-Shen-Yi-Qi-Tang (BSYQT), which is prescribed on the basis of clinical experience, is commonly used in clinics of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for asthma treatment. The components of BSYQT include Radix Astragali (RA), Herba Epimedii (HE) and Radix Rehmanniae (RR). The aim of this study was to compare the effect of granules and herbs of BSYQT on airway inflammation in asthmatic mice.
METHODSSixty female BALB/c mice were randomly divided into the normal control (NC) group, asthmatic group (A), decoction of granules of BSYQT treatment group (GD), decoction of herbs of BSYQT treatment group (HD), and dexamethasone treatment group (DEX). The mouse asthmatic model was induced by ovalbumin (OVA) sensitization and challenge. GD and HD of BSYQT as well as DEX were prepared and administered by intragastric infusion. Airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) to methacholine (Mch), lung histopathology analysis, inflammatory mediators in serum (IL-4, IL-5, IL-17A, IFN-γ, and eotaxin) and in lung (IL-4, IL-5, IFN-γ, and eotaxin) were selected for investigation and comparison.
RESULTSBoth GD and HD treatment could decrease airway resistance (RL) and increase dynamic compliance (Cdyn) to Mch compared with the A group (P < 0.05). HD treatment was more effective in RL reduction than Mch at doses of 3.125 and 6.25 mg/ml (P < 0.05) and in Cdyn increase at Mch doses of 6.25 and 12.5 mg/ml (P < 0.05). There were no marked differences in RL reduction and Cdyn improvement between mice in HD and DEX groups (P > 0.05). Both GD and HD treatment markedly attenuated lung inflammation (P < 0.05), and HD treatment demonstrated more significant therapeutic function in alleviating lung inflammation than that of GD and DEX treatment (P < 0.05). Both GD and HD treatment resulted in a significant reduction in IL-4 and IL-17A levels and an increase in the IFN-γ level in serum compared with the A group (P < 0.05). The effect of HD in lowering the IL-4 and IL-17A level was significantly greater than that of GD (P < 0.05), and was not significantly different from DEX (P > 0.05). HD treatment significantly reduced the serum level of IL-5 and eotaxin compared with the A group (P < 0.05), however, mice in the GD treatment group did not demonstrate this effect. GD and HD treatment significantly reduced IL-4 and eotaxin mRNA expression compared with the A group (P < 0.05). HD treatment significantly reduced IL-5 mRNA expression compared with the A group (P < 0.05). There was a significant difference between the GD and HD treatment groups in reducing IL-5 and eotaxin mRNA expression (P < 0.05). HD treatment was more effective in down-regulation of IL-5 in serum and eotaxin level both in serum and lung than DEX (P < 0.05). Compared with the A group, an obvious increase in mRNA expression of IFN-γ was observed in both the GD and HD treatment groups (P < 0.05). However, the effect of HD treatment on increase of IFN-γ mRNA expression was more apparent than GD and DEX treatment (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSBoth GD and HD treatment could decrease AHR, attenuate lung inflammation, reduce IL-4, IL-5, IL-17A, and eotaxin levels and increase IFN-γ levels in asthmatic mice. HD treatment manifests more remarkable inhibitory effects on asthmatic inflammation than GD treatment, which could provide a guide for further research on the screening of the material basis of the best anti-inflammatory effect of BSYQT.
