Objective To evaluate the accuracy and feasibility of estimation of left ventricular dp/dtmax by continuous-wave Doppler mitral regurgitation velocity curve versus cardiac catheterization in patients with mitral incompetence. Methods One hundred and five patients with mitral incompetence were enrolled in this study. The Doppler spectrum of mitral regurgitation velocity was recorded with a speed of 100mm/s. The velocities and time of two points on the ascending slope of the spectrum were calculated directly in order to estimate left ventricular dp/dtmax. In 40 patients, left ventricular pressure and dp/dtmax were measured with cardiac catheterization. Objective To investigate the effect of antisense oligodeoxynueleotide targeting sur-vivin (survivin ASODN) on hilar cholangioearcinoma cell line FRH-0201 depressing the expression of survivin. Methods Survivin ASODN was transfected into hilar eholangiocarcinoma cell line FRH-0201by liposome. Morphologieal changes were observed by inverted phase contrast microscope. RT-PCR and Western blot methods were performed to detect the expressions of survivin mRNA and protein re-spectively. The changes in cell apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry. Results The expression of survivin mRNA and protein was significantly decreased in survivin ASODN group than that in the con-trol group(mRNA: 0.51-t-0. 03 vs 0. 82-t-0.02,P%0. 05～protein: 1.82-t-0.16 vs 3. 08--t-_0. 27, P-Q 0.05). The morphologieal apoptotic changes were observed and the apoptosis rate was increased (11.50+1.49% vs 0.39-+-0.08～, P%0.05). Objective To compare the results of the three grades pictures affiliated With the Synotophore and to choose the opti- mal pictures for the clinician.Design Retrospective case series.Participants 41 normal persons and 44 cases of intermittent exotropia. Methods All participants were separately examined the three grades function with different kinds and degrees pictures affiliated with the Synotophore.The average radian measured with four sorts of pictures of the first grade function and the average measured with the three sorts of pictures of the second grade function were analysed,the stereoacuity of third grade function was measured with qualitative picture and random dot quantitative picture.Comparison was made between two groups of the people who possessed with stereoacuity. Objective To investigate the method of directed differentiation dendritic cells from embryonic stem cells(ESC) and to amplify high purity DCS in vitro for immunity therapy.Methods E14 ESC line were generated ESC-derived dendritic cells(ES-DC) in complete medium further supplemented with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor(GM-CSF) and interleukin-3(IL-3).ES-DCs was used flow cytometry to determine CD11c,CD80,CD86,MHC-Ⅱ cell surface phenotype. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) were added to induce the ES-DCs matured. The matured ES-DCs was harvested 24 hours later to be identified with morphology, transmission electron microscopy, analyzed by flow cytometry and compared with the immatured ES-DCs phenotype. The antigen presenting was evaluated by mixed lymphocyte responses.Results The ES-DC had obviously dendritic processes under scanning electron microscope . The immature DCs express low level of CD11c(4.33±0.23)%,CD80 (7.62±0.19) %, CD86 (4.77±1.22) % and MHC-Ⅱ (9.68±0.15) %, but the mature DCs express higher lerve of CD11c(47.36±2.68)%,CD80 (74.4±1.47) %, CD86 (29.77±2.00) % and MHC-Ⅱ (87.56±2.75) %. MLR showed that ES-DCs could effectively stimulate lymphocyte to proliferate.Conclusion These results provide evidence that DCs can be generated from E14 ESC with GM-CSF and IL-3, express high level of CD11c,CD80, CD86, MHC-Ⅱ and can effectively stimulate lymphocyte to proliferate. ES cells may become new origin for DCs which provided the immunotherapy.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of Busheng Huoxue Capsule (BHC) on the quality of life (QOL) in senile male osteoporosis (OP) patients, and to explore its mechanisms.

METHODSTotally 200 senile primary OP patients were randomly assigned to two groups according to random digit table method, 100 in each group. Patients in the treatment group took BHC plus caltrate-D (600 mg CaCO3), while those in the control group took alendronate (70 mg per week) plus caltrate-D. The therapeutic course was 12 months for all. Chinese medical symptom score and quality of life (QUALEFFO-41) score, bone mineral density (BMD) of lumbar vertebra (L2 -L4) and left femoral neck were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Serum free testosterone (FT) and estradiol (E2) were also measured.

RESULTSChinese medical symptom scores and QUALEFFO-41 scores, serum FT and E2 levels increased in the two groups after treatment (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The therapeutic effect was superior in the treatment group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). After treatment the BMD of lumbar vertebra (L2 -L4) and the left femoral neck were somewhat improved (P < 0.05), but with no statistical difference between the two groups (P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONBHC could effectively improve the QOL of senile male OP patients, which might be correlated with elevating the BMD levels and regulating the levels of sex hormones.
