China Pharmacy 2007;0(27):-
OBJECTIVE:To improve hydroscopicity and fluidity of traditional Chinese drug extractum by spray drying and to improve affixes to the wall of the drier during drying for providing reasonable relative humidity of production.METHODS:The compounding of adjuvant and the technology were optimized by orthogonal experiment, and the hydroscopicity and fluidity of powdered extract were investigated.RESULTS:The hydroscopicity of traditional Chinese drug extractum can be greatly decreased by adding 3% gum arabic and 7% ?-CD.The optimum technological conditions were as follows:extractum density of 1.10g? mL-1,temperature of intake airflow of 170℃,atomization pressure of 0.5Mpa,and feed material speed of 400mL? h-1 by orthogonal experiment. The critical relative humidity of the optimum formula was 64%.CONCLUTION:The problems of time consuming and moisture absorption of traditional Chinese drug extractum existed in the traditional old technology can be improved in this new technology.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(7):861-863
A total of 120 medical students were surveyed to investigate the current status of communication between medical students and old patients and the awareness of medical laws. The questionnaire shows many students don't have enough knowledge of communication skills and medical laws. Furthermore, the most important reason of the medical disputes is the lack of communication between doctors and patients so the cultivation of communication skills and legal knowledge should be strengthened.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(07):-
Objective The paclitaxel loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (PTX-SLNs) were prepared by an ultrasonic-dispersion emulsification technique. The stability of PTX-SLNs was investigated in this study. Methods The technology was preferenced by stability, Zeta potential, particle diameter, and entrapment efficiency as indexes. The doses of lipid materials and coemulsifier, the ultrasonic time, and the ultrasonic power were investigated in detail. Results The optimum prescriptions were definited by one-factor and orthogonal test. The adjuvant: glyceryl monostearate (100/150 mg), Fabaceous Lecithin (100 mg), coemulsifier Pluronic F68∶Tween 80 (2∶1). The samples were sonicated with an energy output of 300 W in 20 min after emulsified at (75?5) ℃. Conclusion The PTX-SLNs are successfully prepared and PTX-SLNs with high stability are fairly dispersed in colloidal solution. This technology has a nice prospect with safety and reliability.

OBJECTIVETo study whether co-stimulatory molecule CD40 of alveolar macrophage (AM) participated in the occurrence and development of silicosis, and to explore the intervention of Yiqi Huoxue Decoction (YHD) in the fibrosis of silicosis patients.
METHODSTotally 46 silicosis inpatients and outpatients were recruited and randomly assigned to the Western treatment group (A) and the Chinese medicine (CM) treatment group (B), 23 in each group. Patients in Group A received routine symptomatic treatment such as anti-inflammation, phlegm resolving, anti-spasm, and asthma relief, and so on. Patients in Group B additionally took YHD, one dose daily for 14 successive days. Besides, another 18 patients with chronic cough and sense of laryngeal foreign bodies were recruited as the normal control group, who had no obvious lesion confirmed by bronchofi6roscope and clinical diagnosis of the lung. They were treated by symptomatic supporting treatment. The alveolar lavage fluid was collected from all patients and isolated, and AM cells were cultured. The level of CD40 mRNA was detected by RT-PCR. The expression of CD40 protein was detected by Western blot.
RESULTSCompared with the normal control group, expression levels of CD40 mRNA and CD40 protein significantly increased in Group A (P < 0.01). Compared with Group A, expression levels of CD40 mRNA and CD40 protein significantly decreased in Group B (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONSHighly expressed co-stimulatory molecule CD40 of AM might participate in pulmonary fibrosis. YHD could hinder its roles, inhibit the progression of fibrosis, thereby playing an interventional role of treatment.

Objective To make a nationwide external quality assessment of serologic tests for syphilis in China,in hope to increase the quality of syphilis serology in laboratories at different levels. Methods From 2006 to 2008,a nationwide external quality assessment scheme was conducted for serologic tests for syphilis in laboratories of some medical and healthcare facilities each year by the Reference Laboratory,National Center for Sexually Transmitted Disease Control,China Center for Disease Control and Prevention.Five quality control samples and corresponding questionnaires were sent to the participating laboratories.Tests were conducted and test results were reported within stipulated time.Subsequently, the test results were statistically analyzed by the Reference Laboratory, and the final results were fed back to all of these participants. Results From 2006 to 2008,the number of participating provinces increased from 17 to 31,and the number of participating laboratories from 23 to 145.Laboratories achieving a full score amounted to 79.9%,36.8% and 57.6%,and those gaining a score of 80 or greater amounted to 95.7%,88.2% and 89.7%,respectively,in 2006,2007 and 2008.Conclusion The external quality assessment scheme has enhanced the capacity of participating laboratories for syphilis serology to a certain extent from 2006 to 2008.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between 25-(OH) vitamin D [25-(OH) D] level and peripheral neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods Eighty patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were enrolled in this cross-sectional study, including 37 subjects with and 43 without diabetic neuropathy.Anthropometric data was collected and serum levels of 25-(OH) D,HbA1c,blood lipid, and hepatic and renal functions were determined in all patients. Results Serum 25-(OH) D level was significantly lower in patients with diabetic neuropathy compared to those without neuropathy [(12.73 ± 4.68 vs 17.56 ± 5.28) ng/ml,P<0.01].Logistic regressions demonstrated that vitamin D level was associated with diabetic neuropathy (OR=1.222,95% CI 1.095-1.364).Conclusions Vitamin D insufficiency is associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.25-(OH) D level seems to be an independent risk factor of diabetic neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

A novel series of fingolimod analogues containing diphenyl ether moiety were designed and synthesized based on the modification of immunosuppressive agent fingolimod used in the treatment of multiple sclerosis. Compounds were evaluated in vivo for lymphopenic activity and heart rate affection. Most compounds showed moderate lymphopenic activity. It is worth noting that compounds 6c, 6d and 14c-14e showed considerable immunosuppressive activities comparable to fingolimod. And compound 14e had no effect on heart rate.
