Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2011;20(1):25-27
Objective To investigate the neural mechanism of inhibitory control in sensation seeking by using the event-related potential(ERP) technique. Methods High and low sensation seekers( 16 people in each group ), who were selected according to their sensation seeking scores, performed a Go/Nogo task in which the stimuli possessed two levels of difficulty. Electro- encephalogram(EEG) signals were recorded continuously by a set of 32 Ag/AgCI electrodes. Results For two types of stimuli ( Congruent, Incongruent) :( 1 )The amplitude(FCZ) of Nogo N2 and Nogo P3 were( (1.61 ±4.25)μV,(-2.32±4.55)μV)and((16.44±5.74)μV,(17.00±5.71)μV). (2)There was no significant main effects of group for the Nogo N2 amplitude( F (1.30) =0.31, P=0. 59,η2=0. 01;F(1.30) =0.07,P=0.80,η2=0.002) ,the N2d amplitude( F(1.30) =1.18,P=0.29,η2=0.04;F(1.30) =0.004, P=0.95, η2 < 0.001 ) ,the Nogo P3 amplitude( F (1.30) =0.13, P=0.72, η2 =0.004;F(1.30)=0.28, P=0.60, η2 =0.009) and the P3d amplitude( F(1.30) =0.08, P=0.50, η2 =0.02; F (1.30) =0.56,P=0.46, η2 =0.02). (3)Neither of main effects for the N2 and P3 latency was significant (P>0.05). Conclusion The inhibitory control is similar across high and low sensation seeking groups, indicating that there is no relationship between the sensation seeking behaviors and the individual inhibitory control.

Objective To analyze the outcomes of renal transplantation from donation after citizen death (DCD) in our single center.Method We retrospectively investigated the recipient outcomes of renal allografts from DCD.Between November 2010 and 31st December 2014,our institution performed 242 renal transplants from DCD.Outcome variables (survival of recipients/allografts and adverse events) and characteristics of marginal donor transplants were analyzed.Result There were 139 males and 44 females in the enrolled 183 donors, and the range of age was from 2 days to 68 years.183 donors included 102 cases of donation after brain death (category Ⅰ),22 cases of donation after circulatory death (category Ⅱ) and 59 cases of donation after brain death followed by circulatory death (category Ⅲ).Utilizing these renal allografts,we performed 242 kidney transplantations including 237 single kidney transplants and 5 pediatric en bloc kidney transplants. The age of recipients ranged from 12 to 64 years. The data indicated that the 1-year recipient/allograft survival rate was 93.8% and 90.5%,respectively.The rate of delayed graft function (DGF) was 33.1 %,higher than that from executed prisoners allografts (23.6%,P<0.05).However,the rate of 1-year acute rejection, interstitial pneumonia and the other adverse events (urinary fistula, ureteral obstruction and cardiac and cerebral vascular accident, etc.) was similar to that from executed prisoners allografts. In addition, good results from pediatric and elder donor renal transplantation were shown in our data, even though the discard rate of elder donor kidney was high. Conclusion By comprehensive evaluation, strictly screening donors and enhancing the rnanagenent of donors, the long-term survival of recipients may be prolonged and the incidence of DGF and primary graft non-function (PNF) may be decreased. The marginal donors from pediatric and elder DCD donors could be utilized in clinical transplantation safely and effectively as long as reasonable evaluation was carried out.

Objective To observe endoplagmic reticulum stress in bone tissue of fluomsis rats and further explore the pathogenesis of skeletal fluorosis. Methods 48 Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups according to their body mass. The control and low.calcium group were fed with normal diet(0.79%calcium)and low-calcium diet(0.79%calcium)respectively,and both drank tap water(sodium fluoride concentrations<1 mg/L).High fluoride and low.calcium plus high-fluoride groups were fed with normal diet(0.79%calcium)and low-calcium diet (0.79%calcium)respectively,and both drank tap water containing sodium fluoride(sodium fluoride concentrations 221 mg/L).During experimental period, rats were measured body mass once a week with a stand diet and water available ad libiturn. The experimental period was 3 months. The biochemical techniques were used to test the indicators of oxidative stress and ALP in seFum of fluorosis rats. The total RNA was extracted from the one side of the femur, and the transcription level of Bip,Xbp1,CHOP and PDI were investigated by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results The level of MDA in serum of low-calcium plus high-fluoride group wag higher than that of the control[(14.74±3.11)μmol/L vs(10.15±1.96)μmol/L,P<0.05];the activity of GPx was ma~edly higher in hish-fluoride group compared with the control[(3.87±0.41)×103 U/L vs(2.85± 0.55)×103 U/L,P<0.05];the level of uric acid in sel'um was significantly lower both in high-fluoride group and low-calcium plus high-fluoride group compared with the respective control and the low-calcium group[(73.95± 9.52)μmol/L vs(110.43±25.48)μmol/L,(54.32±22.09)μmol/L vs(101.71±17.01)μmol/L,P<0.05]. The activity of ALP wag obviously higher in low-calcium plus high-fluoride group compared with the control [(24.77±4.57)×103U/L vs (12.91±3.97)×103U/L,P<0.01)].The mRNA expression of Bip/GAPDH in bone tissue was markedly higher in bone of high-fluoride group and low-calcium plus high-fluoride group compared with the control(1.38±0.24,1.35±0.12 vs 1.14±0.06,P < 0.05). The expression of Xbp1/GAPDH in bone tissue significantly increased in low-calcium plus high-fluoride groups compared with the control and the low-calcium group (1.48±0.20 vs 1.02±0.25,1.07±0.25,P < 0.05 or < 0.01);and CHOP/GAPDH in bone tissue significantly increased in low-calcium plus high-fluoride groups compared with the control(0.84±0.18 vs 0.52±0.07,P < 0.05 ). Conclusions Accelerated osteogenetic action is seen in fluorosis rats, accompanied by oxidative stress and bone endoplasmic reticulum stress, which is likely involved in the pathogenesis of skeletal fluorosis.
