AIM:To observe the effect of fenoterol and ipratropium bromide alone or combined in the treatment of childhood acute paroxysm of asthma. METHODS: Ninty-five children with acute paroxysm of asthma were divided into 3 groups:group A of 30 children (age 6 a ±s 4 a) received 0.5% fenoterol 2-6 a 0.1 mL, 6-14 a 0.2 mL; group B of 30 children (age 7 a±3 a) received 0.025% ipratropium bromide 2-6 a 0.5 mL, 6-14 a 1 mL; group C of 35 children (age 6 a±3 a) received the same dosage of fenoterol+ipratropium bromide as the other two groups. The drug in 3 groups diluted with 0.9% sodium chloride to 3 mL, aerosol inhalation spray inhalation, tid, for 2-5 d. RESULTS: The obvious effective rate 63% in group A was similar to that of group B 60% (P>0.05), but was lower than that of group C 86% (P<0.05). The adverse reaction wasn't found in 3 groups. CONCLUSION: In treating the childhood acute paroxysm of asthma, the effect of fenoterol is similor with ipratropium bromide, but the combination drug gives a better therapy than either drug alone.

Objective To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on oocyte quality in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) undergoing in-vitro-fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET).Method Totally 217 patients with PCOS undergoing IVF-ET were randomized into two groups by the random number table, 119 patients in an EA group and 98 in a control group. In addition to the long-term ovarian hyperstimulation given to the two groups, electroacupuncture was involved in the intervention in the EA group. The spindle, quality of eggs, and pregnancy result were observed and compared.Result The high-quality embryo rate was significantly higher in the EA group than the control group (P<0.05), and compared to the control group, the pregnancy rate was 8.36% higher in the EA group; it’s found that the number of eggs with spindle located between 11 and 1 o’clock was in a significant positive correlation with the level of E2 on the HCG administration day and the high-quality embryo rate (P<0.01); the EA group had a markedly higher ratio of eggs with spindle located between 11 and 1 o’clock compared to the control group (P<0.05); electroacupuncture markedly reduced the dosage and duration of using Gn in the PCOS patients (P<0.05). Conclusion It’s proven the relation between spindle and the quality of eggs; electroacupuncture can enhance the quality of eggs and the pregnancy rate in the PCOS patients.

A method was developed for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons ( PAHs ) in water by HPLC coupled with online solid phase extraction ( online SPE ) . After filtered, 1 mL of a water sample was injected directly, and then trapped on the SPE column ( Acclaim PAⅡ, 50 mm × 4. 6 mm, 3 μm) for extraction and purification; finally, the trapped analytes were transferred to the analytical column (Hypersil Green PAH, 150 mm × 3 mm, 3 μm) for the separation using valve-switching technique. The mobile phase used for online SPE was water/acetonitrile at different flow rate ( 0 . 4 and 0 . 6 mL/min ) in gradient elution mode;and that used for the separation was water/acetonitrile at 0. 8 mL/min flow rate. UV wavelength was set at 254 nm for the determination of naphthalene and acenaphthylene with no/very weak fluorescent response;fluorescence detection using programmed wavelength switching in three parallel channels was used for the other PAHs. The whole analysis process including online SPE and separation was completed within 32 min. The relative standard deviation ( RSD) of 20 PAHs were all less than 0. 16% for retention time, and less than 1. 3% for peak area (n=7). The peak area had a good linearity with the sample concentration in three orders of magnitude with correlation coefficients of above 0 . 9910 . The recoveries for 0 . 05 μg/L of each analyte in tap water were in the range of 57%-140%, and for 5 . 0 μg/L of each analyte were in the range of 85%-116%. The limits of detection of the method were less than 0 . 05 μg/L ( S/N=3 ) for most PAHs.

Objectives: To establish melanoma models of B16 cell line in ICR mice. Methods: Inoculating B16 Melanoma cells in ICR mice's feet, back, abdomen and caudal vein, to establish transplanted and metastatic melanoma models. We observed the morphologic characteristics and examined the pathological parameters of melanoma. We analyzed the relations between the number of B16 cells inoculated and the genesis of tumors, the influence of tumor growth on mice's behavior, and growth curve of the melanoma. Results:Six days later, sesamoid, linear and nodal even kaulifloweroid melanoma were seen gradually in ICR mice's feet, back, abdomen and lung (anatomid) after inoculating. The bearing tumor rates have a positive relation to the number of inoculated B16 cells. The rates of bearing tumor was near 100%, after inoculating with 5?10 6 B16 cells. Conclusions: The B16 melanoma cell line derived from C57/B16 mice(black ) has high rates of bearing tumor in ICR mice (white). The B16 melanoma models in ICR mice are ideal tumor models that have the characteristics of easy established, easy observing and easy obtaining.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of electro-acupuncture (EA) treatment on the oocyte quality in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) patients undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET).
METHODSTotally 217 PCOS patients undergoing IVF-ET were assigned to two groups by random digit table, the EA group (119 cases) and the control group (98 cases). All patients received long program ovarian hyperstimulation with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist. Patients in the EA group received EA treatment in the process of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation till the oocyte retrieval day. The position relation of the spindle to the polocyte, the number of retrieved oocytes, the fertilization rate, the cleavage rate, the high quality embryo rate, the ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) incidence rate, the clinical pregnancy rate, the early abortion rate, the gonadotropins (Gn) dose and time, levels of estradiol (E2), progesterone (P), and luteinizing hormone (LH) on the day of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) were observed between the two groups.
RESULTSThe ratio of oocytes in which the meiotic spindle deviation angle was < 60 degrees to the all oocytes was obviously higher in the EA group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The oocytes in which the meiotic spindle deviation angle was < 60 degrees was positively related to level of E2 on the HCG day and the high quality embryo rate (r = 0.19,P < 0.01). Compared with the control group, the high quality embryo rate increased significantly (P < 0.05), the dose and days of Gn decreased significantly (P < 0.05) in the EA group. The clinical pregnancy rate was improved by 8.36%.
CONCLUSIONSThe spindle was positively correlated with the oocyte quality. EA could improve the quality of oocytes and the clinical pregnancy rate in PCOS patients undergoing IVF-ET.

Objective To explore the significance of serum squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) in the diagnose of recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of cervix, and seek an effective approach to monitor tumor recurrence after treatment as early as possible. Methods All the data were collected from 1 557 patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from Jan. 2004 to Dec. 2010, the data of un-controlled cases(patients whose serum level of SCC-Ag failed to decrease to normal level or patients with incomplete tumor extinction)were eliminated, there were 1 394 cases of complete remission were analyzed, the median age was 46 years( rang, 18-72 years). According to International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stages (FIGO, 1994), 71 cases were in stageⅠa, 360 cases stageⅠb, 254 cases stageⅡa, 207 cases stageⅡb, 95 cases stageⅢa, 289 cases stageⅢb, 106 cases stageⅣa and 12 cases stageⅣb. Radical hysterectomy was performed in 685 cases with stageⅠ-Ⅱa, concurrent radiation and chemotherapy was performed in 709 cases with stageⅡb-Ⅳ. Taking serum cut off value of SCC-Ag was 1.95 μg/L, the level ≤1.95 μg/L as SCC-Ag negative expression and>1.95μg/L as SCC-Ag positive expression. The positive expression status of SCC-Ag before treatment, the relationship between the post-treatment recurrence rate after SCC-Ag becoming negative and the clinicopathological features of the patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma were analyzed, concurrently combined with gynecological check-up, pathological and imaging examination, followed by comparative analysis with the results of monitoring. Results Among 1 394 patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma, there were 1 169 cases with positive SCC-Ag, the positive expression rate of SCC-Ag before treatment was closely related with the clinical stages and tumor size(all P<0.01),which was not related with pathological grade and lymphatic metastasis(all P>0.05). The positive expression of SCC-Ag in 1 169 patients before treatment turned negative after treatment, 279 patients with recurrence whose positive expression of SCC-Ag turned negative after treatment, the recurrence rate was closely related with clinical stages, pathological grade, lymphatic metastasis and tumor size(all P<0.01). Among 279 cases of recurret squamous cell carcinoma of cervix, the median time of the increase in serum level of SCC-Ag was 12.4 months, and the median time of clinical or imaging examination was 19.0 months. And the recurrence time in the increase of patients′ serum level of SCC-Ag occurred obviously earlierthan that in clinical or radiographic manifestation (P<0.01), the median time of recurrence of the increase in serum level of SCC-Ag was obviously earlier than that of abnormality found by clinical or imaging examination(P<0.01). Among 279 cases withrecurrent squamous cell carcinoma of cervix, the serum level of SCC-Ag>5μg/L for patients with central recurrence was 4.2%(4/96), whilein the group of pelvic wall recurrence group was 56.2%(45/80)and in distant metastasis group was 87.4%(90/103). The level of SCC-Ag>5μg/L from the patients with pelvic wall recurrence and distant metastasis were much higher than that of patients with central recurrence (P<0.01), and the same results were shown between distant metastasis group and pelvic wall recurret group (P<0.01). Conclusions SSC-Ag expression in serum of patients with cervical squamous carcinoma is closely related with clinical stages and the tumor size. Dynamic monitoring the level of SSC-Ag could contribute to the early diagnosis for tumor recurrence, but it has some limitations for patients with central recurrence, which should deserve our attention.
