1.Biological function of heme oxygenase in its role in liver transplantation
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(12):-
Heme oxygenase(HO) is a rate-limiting enzyme that catalyzes heme degradation. It catabolizes heme into 3 products: carbon monoxide(CO),free iron and bilirubin, which play an important role in keeping the steady state of the organism. In recent years, some studies show that the promotion of HO-1 expression can reduce ischemia-reperfusion injury of an organ transplant and regulate the transplantation immunological rejection. It has an important application prospect in liver transplantation.
2.Study on Relationship Between of Chromium(Ⅵ)-induced Mutagenic Effects and Lipid Peroxidation in Mice
Journal of Environment and Health 1989;0(06):-
Objectiv To explore the effects of chromium (Ⅵ) on the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), the final product of lipid peroxidation in peripheral blood of mice and the micronucleus rate of polychromatic erythrocytes (PCE) in peripheral blood. Method 60 Kunming mice were divided randomly into 6 groups averagely. 4 groups were selected as exposure groups which were exposed to 10.27, 13.83, 20.74, 41.48 mg/kg calcium chromate by oral perfusion, one time per day, for 6 days. The negative and positive control group was exposed to distilled water and cyclophos phamide (40 mg/kg) respectively. After exposure, the levels of MDA and micronucleus rates of PCE were determined. Results Significant increases of the levels of MDA and the micronucleus rates of PCE in peripheral blood of mice were observed, which were associated with the increases of the exposure doses of chromium (Ⅵ). Significant positive correlation was observed between the micronucleus rates of PCEs (x) and MDA(nmol/ml) levels (y) in peripheral blood (y=3.705+930x,r=0.958, P

Objective To use peer education to guide community diabetic patients to adopt diet therapy using food exchange method in order to explore effective method for diet therapy of diabetes mellitus. Meth-ods 91 diabetic patients were selected using simple sampling method and randomly divided into the peer ed-ucation(45 cases) and the common education group(46 cases), the two groups adopted food exchange method for diet therapy for 1 year. The blood glucose, blood lipid, glycosylated hemoglobin and body weight index were compared between the two groups using t test. Results The blood glucose, blood lipid, glycosylated hemoglobin and body weight index all decreased in the two groups after intervention, but the the decreased de-gree in the peer education group was more obvious. The fasting blood glucose, 2 hour postprandial blood glu-cose, glycosylated hemoglobin, triglyceride, low-donordensity lipid protein and body weight index in the peer education were lower thanthose of the common education group, but HDL-C was higher. Conclusions Peer education is more effective in health education of food exchange method.

Objective To study into the influence of Ze Xie and Dan Shan root on the immunity regulation and the expression of radical in mice with chronic pelvic infection. Methods The model of mice with chronic pelvic infection was established by putting phenol into the endometrium of the mice. The density change of serum IL -2, TNF, SOD and MDA of the mice was measure by the method of radiation immunity and the method of biochemistry. Results The expression of serum IL - 2 and SOD in Ze Xie and Dan Shan root group was obviously higher than that in the model group( P

Purpose To investigate clinicopathological features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of tubular carcinoma of the breast. Methods Morphological observation and immunohistochemistry were applied in 29 cases of tubular carcinoma of the breast, and the literatures were also reviewed. Results The tumors were composed of open tubules, infiltrating haphazardly in the cellular desmoplastic stroma. The neoplastic tubules were enclosed by a single layer of epithelial cells with insignificant atypia or rare mitoses. The tumors were often associated with lobular neoplasm, columnar cell lesion, ductal atypical hyperplasia or carcinoma in situ. Immunostaining displayed that myoepithelial cells were absent or incomplete. Conclusions Tubular carcinoma of the breast is a peculiar subtype of breast carcinoma with good prognoses, which is easily confused with microglandular adenosis, radial sclerosing lesions,or low grade invasive ductal carcinoma.Immunohistochemistry is useful for the differential diagnosis.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2017;16(9):870-873
Complexity science is a new type of scientific research method, and the combination of complexity science, life science, and medicine is still in the initial stage of exploration, and domestic medi-cal colleges do not offer correlative course currently. In order to broaden students' vision, transform their traditional thinking model, and prepare the future of multidisciplinary cooperation, medical colleges should open complexity science and medicine correlative course for senior undergraduate and graduate students. Course content should start by the famous fablebutterfly infect, followed by the introduction of chaos and fractal, self-organization and complex system theory concept, theoretical framework, and their application in the medical field The teaching material should refer to some popular science books, such as Mystery of the butterfly effect. The teaching method should draw lessons from metaphor.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of multiple-trough sampling design and nonlinear mixed effect modeling (NONMEM) algorithm on the estimation of population and individual pharmacokinetic parameters. Oxcarbazepine and tacrolimus were used as one-compartment and two-compartment model drugs, respectively. Seven sampling designs were investigated using various number of trough concentrations per individual ranging from 1-4. Monte Carlo simulations were performed to produce state-steady trough concentrations. One-compartment model was used to fit simulated data from oxcarbazepine and tacrolimus. The accuracy and precision of the estimated parameters were evaluated using the median prediction error (PE), the median absolute PE and boxplot. The results indicated that trough concentrations could yield reliable estimates of apparent clearance (CL/F). For oxcarbazepine, as the number of trough concentrations per subject increased, the accuracy and precision of CL/F, between-subject variability (BSV) of CL/F and residual variability (RUV) tended to be improved. For tacrolimus, however, although no improvement were observed in the accuracy of CL/F and BSV of CL/F, the PE distribution ranges were significantly narrowed and the RUV estimates were less bias and imprecise. In terms of algorithm, Monte Carlo importance sampling (IMP) and IMP assisted by mode a posteriori estimation (IMPMAP) were consistently better than other methods. Additionally, the sampling design had no significant effects on the individual parameter estimates, which were only depended on the interaction between BSV and RUV in various algorithms. Decreased in BSV and RUV levels can improve the accuracy and precision of the estimation for both population and individual pharmacokinetic parameter estimates.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(17):3505-3513
Polysaccharides with multiple biological activities are usually considered as one of the major bioactive compounds in Chinese medicines (CMs). At present, the development of drug and functional foods related to polysaccharides have attracted a great deal of attention due to their great potential effects and diverse action mechanisms. However, quality control of polysaccharides is the bottleneck and a challenge due to their complexity and chemical diversity. Actually, the bioactivities of polysaccharides are closely related to their molecular structures. In order to ensure their safety and efficacy, the development of novel approaches based on the molecular structures for the improvement of quality control of polysaccharides is significantly important. Therefore, in this article, the relationship between biological activities and chemical structures, as well as the action mechanisms of polysaccharides from CMs were summarized first. Furthermore, saccharide mapping, a novel strategy for quality control of bioactive polysaccharides from CMs, was introduced and the application and perspectives were also discussed.
