Objective To explore the effect of transforming growth factor ?_1 (TGF-?_1) on expression of paxillin(Pax) in human kidney proximal tubular epithelial cell line (HKC cells) in different phases. Methods HKC cells cultured in vitro were divided into four groups at random. Control group(C group): HKC cells were cultured with serum free medium (FSM), and TGF-?_1-treated groups (T1, T2, T3 group): HKC cells were cultured with FSM containing 10ng/ml TGF-?_1. In the latter groups, duration of treatment varied as follows: T1 group for 24h, T2 group for 48h, T3 group for 72h. The proliferation of HKC cells induced by TGF-?_1 was assessed by MTT and the expression of Pax was determined. The gene expression of Pax was determined by reverse transcripton polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and the protein expression of Pax was assessed by immunohistochemical staining and Western blot. Results TGF-?_1 could induce the proliferation of HKC cells in a time-dependent manner. In C group there was expression of Pax mRNA and protein in HKC cells. Objective To explore the factors associated with infections in children with leukemia after chem-otherapy. Methods Clinical data of fifty-six children with leukemia, who infected after chemotherapy were reviewed with infection characteristics and some related factors. Results The infection rates were 27% in upper airway,37% in lower upper airway,12% in oral cavity,5% in gastrointestinal tract,3% in perianal abscess,7% in urinary sys-tem,5% in scpficaemia and 2% in ofitis media. Most infection happened from five to ten days after chemotherapy,and the infection rates varied with chemotherapy scheme. The persistence time of infection were (8.5±2.2) days in the children with the numbers of neutrophil below 0.5×109/L and (3.5±1.4) days in those above 0.5×109/L with significant difference(P <0.01). Conclusions After chemotherapy,the children had more chances to be infected. To be more exact, the /nfection was more common observed in respiratory tract, next in gastrointestinal tract. And the stronger the medicine used the number of heterophil granulocyte dropped much more ,the infection happened more easily.

Objective To explore the cognition processes of language in stroke patients by characterizing the differences between the event-related potentials (ERPs) N400 evoked bypicture-word andsentence-wordparadigms.Methods Twenty patients with a single brain lesion resulting from a first episode of stroke were tested along with 20 normal controls.Their N400 ERPs were tested using pictures and sentences as activating stimuli and phrases composed of nouns and verbs as the target stimuli.The N400 potentials were recorded from electrodes located at Fz,Pz,T3 and T4 positions of the International 10-20 system.The N400 latencies and amplitudes and the behavioral responses of the experimental and control groups were compared.Results The latencies were longer and the amplitudes were lower in response to sentence activation than to picture activation.The differences in terms of amplitude were the greatest with N400 recorded from Pz.The responses to the target stimuli were not significantly different with regard to the types of stimuli and recording location.The average response time was longer and the error rate was higher in response to sentence activation than to picture activation.Conclusion Multiple accesses,activating stimuli and integrating processes are involved in language cognition.The brain is more sensitive and accurate in response to picture stimuli in language cognition.The response to sentence stimuli is slower,and the error rate is higher.This suggests that it is better to usc varied prime stimuli in teaching children languages.

Objective To study the efficacy as well as side effects of the Nimotop in the treatment of benign memory disorders with oral tab. Method 38 patients with benign memory disorders as treatment group, taking Nimotop oral tab 30mg, Tid for 6 weeks and anathr 34patients with benign memory disorders taking Pyrrolidone Acetamide oral tab 0. 8, Tid as control group. Result The total efficiency were 73.6% in treatment group, while 47% in control group. Although some improvement in the memory scale and memory quotient were found in both groups, but the treatment group is obviously superior to control group ( P ＜ 0. 05) . Conclusion Nimotop has positive effect on the treatment of benign memory disorders.

Objective To investigate the effect of Guizhi Fuling pills on levels of serum MAPK, ERK and VEGF in patients with endometriosis. Methods 60 patients with endometriosis were selected and according to the random control table were divided into the experiment group and the control group, 30 cases each.The control group were treated with conventional acetate goserelin sustained-release implantation agent subcutaneous injection, the experiment group were treated by Guizhi Fuling pill treatment.After treatment, the clinical efficacy, serum MAPK, ERK-5, VEGF, ERK, T-cad and VE-cad levels of the patients were compared.Results Compared with the control group, the clinical total effective rate was higher in the experiment group (P<0.05);MAPK and ERK-5 levels in serum were lower (P<0.05), ERK level in serum was lower(P<0.05);T-cad and VE-cad levels in serum were lower(P<0.05);VEGF level in serum was lower(P<0.05).Conclusion Guizhi Fuling pill can block the cell signal transduction pathway through inhibition of MEK and ERK activity, thereby inhibit abnormal endometrial proliferation and cell division cycle, can effectively inhibit the proliferation and differentiation of the tumor.

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Pijiling Liniment for seborrheic dermatosis on 327 cases. Methods:327 patients with seborrheic dermatosis were treated with Pijiling Liniment. The clinical effects were compared with that of the control group(Co.Resorcinol Ointment, 76 cases). Results:The total effective rate and curative rate of the treatment group for seborrheic dermatitis were 93.5% and 33.3%, respectively. The effective rate for acne was 80.6% and for dermatomycosis microsporina was 7.5%. The total effective rate and curative rate of the control group were 92.1% and 2.6 %, respectively. Conclusions:There is a significant difference in the curative rate between two groups( P 0.05) through x 2 test.

Objective To study the mRNA expression of MCT1 and MCT2 genes in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and paracarcinoma liver tissue (PCLT). Methods The semi-quantitative analysis of MCT1 and MCT2 genes mRNA expression in human HCC and PCLT was conducted by RT-PCR method and electrophoresis band opacity density (OD) comparison analysis method in 25 patients with HCC. Results The mRNA expression of MCT1 was significantly higher than MCT2 in HCC and PCLT, in HCC the mRNA expression of MCT1 and MCT2 genes were significant higher than that in PCLT. Conclusions The high expression of mRNA of MCT1 and MCT2 genes in HCC indicates that these genes may take a significant role on lactate and other monocarboxylate transmembrane transportation and on pH regulation in tumor cells.

With an increasing prevalence all over the world,diabetes mellitus is considered as a potential cause of liver cancer in patients with non-viral hepatitis.Whether diabetes mellitus is the cause of liver cancer and related pathogenesis remain unknown.The article reviews recent large-sample cohort studies and confirms that diabetes mellitus increases the incidence rate of liver cancer and affects its prognosis.This article also investigates the association of hepatitis C,obesity,and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease with diabetes mellitus and liver cancer and finds that insulin resistance and activation of chronic inflammatory factors may be involved in the generation and proliferation of cancer cells.This article elaborates on the influence of anti-insulin resistance drugs on the development and progression of liver cancer and points out that diabetes mellitus may be the cause of liver cancer.Effective control of insulin resistance can help to reduce the development and progression of diabetes-associated liver cancer.

A fluorescent molecular probe R6G-Flu was prepared by modifying fluorescein onto Rhodamine 6G.The probe could be used to recognize Al3+ specifically, and the detection limit could reach as low as 10-8 mol/L.After addition of Al3+ (10 μmol/L) to the probe, the solution showed a color change from colorless to pink, and green fluorescence was observed under the UV irradiation, which could be perceived by the naked eye.By measuring the fluorescence emission intensity of R6G-Flu at different pH, the probe could also be used to determine pH in acidic pH range (3.00-6.00) and basic pH range (8.00-10.50).The detection results of Al3+ and pH indicated that the R6G-Flu was a dual-functional fluorescent molecular probe.
