1.Relations of matrix metalloproteinases and tumor microenvironment
Journal of International Oncology 2008;35(11):810-812
Matrix metalloproteases(MMPs)and tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteases(TIMPs) have a co-regulation of changes of the extraeellular matrix(ECM).MMPs can control the proteases which are related to the process of tumor development. Moreover,MMPs,produced by host cells including inflammatory ceUs,endothelial cells, pericytes and fibroblasts have a positive or negative correlation with tumor formation.
3.The general situation of climacteric syndrome treated with traditional Chinese medicine
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;37(12):1141-1144
Climacteric syndrome is a common clinical disease with high incidence. The understanding of the disease is progressing in recent years. This article collects thirty-seven documents in this field in recent eight years. The pathogenesis of climacteric syndrome is divided into two aspects as the deficiency of the kidney and the imbalance of the liver, the spleen and the heart. It also sums up the therapy of climacteric syndrome from this two aspects. At last, the authors propose that we should pay attention to the importance of the liver, the spleen and the heart in both the pathogenesis and the therapy.
4.Advances in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease
International Journal of Pediatrics 2016;43(5):377-381
Inflammatory bowel disease is a chronic non-specific intestinal tract inflammation, currently, its etiology and pathogenesis are not clear. The current conventional treatments include salicylic acid drugs, steroids, immunosuppressive agents, biological agents and surgery, but the prognosis is still not very optimistic. In recent years, a variety of other treatment options have emerged, such as anti-cytokine antibody, anti-chemokine antibodies.Clinicians pay more attention to treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.
5.Study on the inhibitory effect of miR-199b on colorectal cancer metastasis
Journal of Chinese Physician 2015;17(2):208-211
Objective To investigate the expression of miR-199b in colorectal cancer and the effect of miR-199b on metastasis of colorectal cancer. Methods The expression of miR-199b in colorectal cancer was assessed by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).The miR-199boverexpressed human colon tumor-116 (HCT-116) stable cell lines was constructed by lentivirus assay. The effects of miR-199b on the migration and invasion of colorectal cancer were confirmed by Transwell assay.Bioinformatics, luciferase reporter assay, and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were performed to verify the potential target genes of miR-199b.Results miR-199b was at lower level in cancerous tissues comparing to the corresponding noncancerous tissues.Up-regulation of miR-199b significantly blocked the migration and invasion of colorectal cancer cells.Co-transfection of miR-199b and VEGFA wild type (WT)3'untranslated region (3'UTR) could inhibit the luciferase activity, while there was no significant difference when co-transfection with mutant (MT) 3'UTR.The protein level of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) after overexpression of miR-199b was repressed, which was validated by ELISA.Conclusions miR-199b was a new colorectal cancer suppressor miRNA,which inhibited tumor migration and invasion by negatively regulating VEGF.
6.The clinical research of bevacizumab combined with FOLFIRI as second-line treatment in advanced colorectal cancer
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2012;(35):29-31
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety ofbevacizumab combined with FOLFIRI regimen as second-line treatment in advanced colorectal cancer. Methods Sixty-five advanced colorectal cancer patients previously treated with oxaliplatin were divided into test group(33 patients) and control group (32 patients) by random digits table method. The patients in test group received bevacizumab combined with FOLFIRI regimen chemotherapy. The patients in control group received FOLFIRI regimen chemotherapy only. The therapeutic effect was evaluated every 4 cycles. Results In test group,1 patient received complete remission,9 patients had partial remission, the rate of efficacy was 30.3% (10/33).In control group, non patient had complete remission,3 patients received partial remission, the rate of efficacy was 9.4% (3/32).The rate of efficacy between two groups had significant difference (x2 =4.45,P =0.035).The median duration of survival was 13.0 months in test group, and 10.3 months in control group(HR =0.58,P=0.038).The median progression-free survival duration was 7.5 months in test group, and 4.4 months in control group (HR =0.45,P =0.003).The median treatment cycle was 12 cycles in test group and 8 cycles in control group. The rate of Ⅲ/Ⅳ grade adverse events in test group was higher than that in control group[72.7%(24/33) vs.46.9% (15/32)] (P < 0.05).None of these events led to death during the study. Conclusions Bevacizumab combined with FOLFIRI as second-line treatment in advanced colorectal cancer can improve the total remission rate, and prolong the progression-free survival duration and total survival duration with an acceptable adverse reaction.
7.Evaluation on Acupuncture Treatment of Primary Insomnia
Acupuncture Research 2010;0(02):-
Acupuncture treatment of insomnia has been reported for many years, but its validity remains controversial up to now.In the present review, the authors took "Acupuncture","Insomnia" as the key words to do a literature search from databases in both Chinese and English via computer retrieval system and also conducted a hand-made retrieval from journals of Chinese medicine as Chinese Acu-moxibustion,and collections of theses of the related academic conferences. Then, they made a systemic evaluation on the original articles from methodology, diagnosis, criteria for the enlisted and excluded patients, intervention methods of acupuncture and control groups, standards for assessing the curative efficacy,follow-up visit, etc.Of the retrieved 80 clinical articles,20 are RCT(randomized controlled trails) composed of 1907 cases, including 4 high-quality trails and 16 lower-quality trails.Regarding the assessment of the therapeutic effect, measuring scales are often adopted in overseas studies, while in domestic researches,self-drawn standards are frequently used.In conclusion, there have had no high-quality clinical trails about acupuncture treatment of primary insomnia in China at the present, and the related evaluating methods could not definitely confirm the efficacy of acupuncture in relieving insomnia. Therefore,a strict and scientific clinical trail scheme being in line with evidence-based medicine is urgently needed in the coming studies on acupuncture treatment of primary insomnia.
