Objective:To comparatively observe the effects of 20(R)-ginsenoside Rg3 and PEG-PLGA-Rg3 nanoparticles on the Lewis lung cancer mice and to explore the mechanisms of Rg3 and PEG-PLGA-Rg3 nanoparticle anti-cancer in vivo. Methods:Lewis lung cancer mouse model was established and 60 mice were randomly divided into 5 groups with twelve in each group:PEG-PLGA-Rg3 nanoparticles group (Rg3-N),PEG-PLGA group (PEG),Rg3 group (Rg3 ),normal control group (C),saline control group(NS),and received intragastric administration for 1 4 days. The weights of the mice were measured every 2 days and the weight curves were obtained. At the same time, the color pattern, activity and men-tal status were observed. The mice were sacrificed when the administration was over, and the effects of 20 (R)-ginsenoside Rg3 and PEG-PLGA-Rg3 nanoparticles on tumor weight, and the tumor:weight ratios were analysed. In addition, the tumor microvessel density (MVD)was measured by immunohistochemi-cal staining with anti-CD31 antibody to compare the effects of Rg3 and PEG-PLGA-Rg3 nanoparticles on the tumor angiogenesis in vivo.Furthermore, the levels of such angiogenesis and proliferation factors as MMP-9,HIF-1 α,VEGF,Ki-67 were examined by RT-PCR,Western blot and immunohistochemistry to explore the internal molecular mechanisms of anti-tumor effects in vivo. Results:The trends of variation of the mice weights in NS group and PEG group were rising early but declining later. In contrast, the trends of the other three groups were rising early and became stable later. In comparison with NS group, the mice of Rg3 group and Rg3-N group had better general status:brighter color, more active and better spirit.Compared with NS group, the tumor weight in PEG group,Rg3 group and Rg3-N group showed no significant difference but the tumor:weight ratio and MVD in Rg3 group and Rg3-N group declined signi-ficantly (P <0.01 ).Besides, there was no significant difference between Rg3 group and Rg3-N group. At the same time, the level of VEGF mRNA,the protein expression of MMP-9,HIF-1 α,VEGF in Rg3 group and Rg3-N group decreased compared with NS group.Furthermore, the level of each index above-mentioned in Rg3-N group was lower than that in Rg3 group. The expression of Ki-67 in PEG group,Rg3 group and Rg3-N group showed no significant difference compared with NS group.Conclusion:Rg3 and PEG-PLGA-Rg3 nanoparticle may suppress the expression of VEGF,MMP-9 and HIF-1 αin Lewis lung cancer mice, thereby indirectly contributing to their antitumor effects and alleviating the mice’s general status. In addition,PEG-PLGA nanoparticles embedding can promote Rg3 antitumor effect in vivo.

We describe two cases in which a forceps imprintdeveloped in the AcrySof ReSTOR IOL optic whileinserting these IOLs into the cartridge with straightclamping forceps. In case 1 ,the AcrySof ReSTOR IOL wasexplanted and observed under scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM). The SEM showed that the stepdesign of ReSTOR Multifocal IOL was well maintained. Incase 2, visual acuity, contrast sensitivity and wavefrontmeasurements were performed and no specific changeswere found. Strong evidence does not exist that suggeststhe on-axis forceps imprint can significantly compromisevisual acuity.

avian influenza virus (AIV) can not only infect avian and cause pandemics, but also result infection and initiate pandemics in humans and other mammal animals, crossing the species barrier. There have been some advance in research into the nonspecific species barrier of human respiratory tract against AIV infection and the mechanism of the infection of AIV in humans in recent years.

Objective To analyze youth talents' scientific research projects in research oriented hospital for recent five years, provide scientific basis for hospitals to strengthen the youth talents' capacity building of research innovation. Methods Identify those youth talents who have been funded in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, and statistically analyze the demographic information, granted scientific research projects and hospital funding situations. Results There are 140 young talents who have got scientific research projects from 2011 to 2015 in the hospital. The national project number and the trend of approval rate has no obvious change;the provincial level project number and approval rate showed a trend of a significant increase in the last two years;Setting up the hospital fund promoted the youth talents' scientific research ability, but there are still spaces for further improvement in the funding field and founded group. Conclusions There has been a group of youth talents to stand out from the crowd during the construction and the development of the researchoriented hospital, but youth talents remains scarce for the national key projects and talent projects, and that will put forward new requirements for the hospital in the future to strengthen the youth talents' capacity building of research innovation, which needs to gradually establish a suitable cultivation mode and mechanism for youth talents' growth.

Objective Promote the development of disciplines and enforce the construction and training of talent echelon through selection and assessment of discipline and academy leaders. Methods Conduct classified management on different disciplines and academy leaders concerning theirworking positions. The specific measurements include setting up selection and evaluation systems separately with different focuses, implementing dynamic management, establishing performance oriented mechanisms of promotion and demotion during the tenure period. Results The construction of talent echelon plays a significant role in capacity building of young talents, team building and development of all disciplines. Conclusions Systematic measurements could promote the development of disciplines and cultivation of reserved talents, including attaching importance on talent echelon establishment, defining suitable function of hospital, strengthening talent team building;establish a well-functioning talent management mechanism and effective incentive mechanisms.

Objective To observe the curative effect of pricking bloodletting combined with acupuncture on patients with piriformis injury syndrome. Methods A prospective randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted, 84 patients with piriformis injury syndrome admitted to the Department of Acupuncture and Massage in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from May 2011 to May 2014 were enrolled, and they were divided into observation group and control group by random number table, each group being 42 cases. The patients in the observation group were treated with bloodletting once a week (after bloodletting no other treatment was given), and then once a day of acupuncture was performed for 4 days in a week, completing one therapeutic course; while in the control group, the patient was treated with routine acupuncture once a day for 5 days in a week, finishing one therapeutic course. The interval between two therapeutic courses was 2 days, two courses were carried out, and afterwards the clinical therapeutic effects were evaluated in the two groups. The changes of visual analogue scale (VAS) of two groups before and after treatment and the therapeutic effects were observed. Results The VAS score of the two groups after treatment was lower than that before treatment, and the degree of decrease of VAS score in the observation group was significantly lower than that of thecontrol group (1.50±1.35 vs. 2.69±1.68,P < 0.01); the total effective rate in the observation group was obviously higher than that in the control group [100.00% (42/42) vs. 69.05% (29/42),P < 0.01].Conclusion Pricking bloodletting combined with acupuncture therapy for treatment of piriformis injury syndrome can shorten the course of treatment.
