Objective To explore the effect of the self-made pelvic bag on patients with unstable pelvic fracture. Methods Toally 24 patients with unstable pelvic fracture from January 2013 to June 2014 were set as control group and used conventional nursing.Toally 30 patients from July 2014 to December 2015 were set as observation group. The self-made pelvic bag was used in the observation group for pelvic fixation and suspension traction. The degree of pain was compared between the pre-and post-use of the bag.Result The pains after using pelvic bag in the observation group were significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.001).Conclusions The self-made pelvic bag can be effective for the pelvic fixation and suspension for the patients with pelvic traction. At the same time it can relieve the pain.

Objective To investigate the effect of serum-deprivation on the changes of [ Ca2+ ] i and the protein release of S100A13 and fibroblast growth factor 1 ( FGF-1 ) in thyroid cancer TT cell, and to reveal the role of Ca2+in the protein release of S100Al3 and FGF-1.Methods The protein expressions of FGF-1 and S100A13 in TT cells under serum-deprivation were detected by Western blot. The released FGF-1 protein from TT cells in the supernatant fluid was detected by ELISA.Realtime dynamic examinations on the change of 1 h [ Ca2+ ] i in TT cells under serum-deprivation were detected by confocal laser scanning microscopy. Then, the effect of EGTA( 2.5 mmol/ L),BAPTA-AM (2.5 μmol/L)on distributions of the fluorescence of S100AI 3 and FGF-1 in TT cells under serumdeprivation for6 h were detected by indirect immunofluorescence. Results The expressions of FGF-1 and S100A13 in TT cells after serum-deprivation for4 h and 6 h were reduced( P<0.05 or P<0.01 ),but the released FGF-1 protein from TT cells in the supernatant fluid was elevated ( P<0.05 or P<0.01).Confocal laser scanning of Ca2+ imaging indicated that [ Ca2+ ] i of serum-deprivation TT cells maintained the relative stabilization within 23 win,but the rapid rise of [ Ca2+ ] i achieved peak value 1.6 μmol/L after 30 min,and remained stable for about 17 win,and thereafter 40 win slowly dropped to a low level From 40 win to 60 win the [ Ca2+ ] i was about 0.3-0.6 μ mol/L.The average [ Ca2+ ] i was higher than that in normal group,EGTA group, and BAPTA-AM group within 1 h.The protein expressions of S100A13 and FGF-1 did not drop obviously in EGTA group and BAPTA-AM group.Conlusion The release of S100A13 and FGF-1 from TT cell under serum-deprivation is possibly related with the change of [ Ca2+ ]i.Both Ca2+-chelating agents EGTA and BA PTA-AM are able to inhibit the rise of [ Ca2+ ] i and release of S100A 13 and FGF-1 from TT cells under serum-deprivation.

Objective:This study was conducted to evaluate whether or not immediate breast reconstruction influences quality of life and patient body image satisfaction outcomes among Chinese women with breast cancer compared with modified radical mastecto-my. Methods:Sixty patients with breast cancer and were operated from July 2011 to July 2012 in Cancer Institute&Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College were included. These patients were divided into two groups:Ⅰ(30 patients) underwent modified radical mastectomy andⅡ(30 patients) underwent mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction. Pa-tient satisfaction with breast reconstruction was evaluated by functionally assessing cancer therapy-breast cancer scale (FACT-B) and the scales that we designed. Results:No significant differences were observed between the two groups in terms of baseline characteris-tics, histopathological characteristics, and incision conditions (P>0.05). The patients in groupⅡ(immediate breast reconstruction) ex-hibited improved body image satisfaction outcomes (41.1 ± 10.8 vs. 33.2 ± 8.8, P=0.003);this difference was still observed after adjust-ment for confounding factors was performed by multiple linear regression. No significant difference was found between the two groups in terms of total FACT-B score and psychological evaluation score (P>0.05). Conclusion:Chinese women who prefer immediate breast reconstruction exhibited an improved body image satisfaction.

Objective:Occult breast cancer (OBC) accounts for 0.3%-1.0%of all breast cancers. Because of the rarity of this dis-ease, its treatment and prognosis remain unclear. Our study evaluated the treatment outcomes and prognostic factors associated with OBC. Methods:A total of 82 patients diagnosed with OBC based on available criteria were treated at the Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, China, between January 1968 and June 2014. Except for 16 patients who were treated by needle biopsy or excisional biopsy only and were subsequently excluded, all of the cases reported were included in the study. Of the remaining 66 patients, one was male. Patient data, tumor characteristics, and treatment and outcome variables were evaluated. Overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) were analyzed. A unicentric retrospective review of 66 patients with OBC was performed. Re-sults:The median follow-up was 75.5 months (7.0-328.0). No significant differences in OS and DFS were observed between patients who underwent mastectomy plus axillary lymph node dissection (Mast+ALND) and those who underwent breast conservation surgery (P>0.05). Univariate analysis revealed that nodal status is a significant prognosis factor of DFS (P=0.031). Conclusion:No significant difference in treatment outcomes between mastectomy+ALND and breast conservation surgery was observed. Nodal status may be an independent predictor of poor outcomes in OBC patients.

AIM:To investigate the changes of CD27 and CD28 expression on cytokine-induced killer(CIK) cells and natural killer(NK) cells during cultivation.METHODS:The mononuclear cells were treated with interleukin-12(IL-2),IL-7,IL-15,stem cell factor and FLT3 ligand for four weeks. The CD27 and CD28 expression on CD3+CD56+ CIK cells and CD3-CD56+ NK cells were examined by flow cytometric analysis every week during four-week cultivation.RESULTS:The expression of CD27 on CIK and NK cells two weeks after cultivation reached the peak value at(44.57?4.07)% and(51.02?5.20)%,respectively. Then, their expression declined gradually to about 30% in the fourth week. The expression of CD28 on CIK and NK cells reached the peak at the third and the second week, the values were (4.40?0.66)% and (45.14?3.58)%,respectively,decreased rapidly and then were almost completely lost at the fourth week. CONCLUSION:According to the changes of expressions of CD27 and CD28 on CIK/NK cells, optimal harvest time of cultured CIK/NK cells should be at the third week of cultivation.

Phenylketonuria (PKU) is a severe autosomal recessive disease which can cause irreversible damage to patients' neural system and results in severe mental retardation.Although the institution of a lowphenylalanine (Phe) diet has been a remarkable success in preventing the devastating damage associated with untreated PKU,there are always small but consistent gap in intelligence quotient (IQ) scores and executive functioning when compared to siblings or healthy age-related control groups.During the past few years, several types of new treatment strategies, such as genetic engineering, enzyme replacement, tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4),large neutral amino acids (LNAA),low-Phe diet and liver or liver cell transplantation therapies, have been studied and improved. This paper aims to introduce the research advances in pathogenesis of PKU,the treatment methods and the related molecular mechanism.
