2 cm) who were treated with endoscopic polypectomy in 2 different means, respectively. Methods The clinic data of 68 children with giant colonic polyps were review analyzed.Thirty-five cases were received endoscopic clips ligation and the other 33 cases were received endoscopic snare resection. Results All the 35 cases out of endoscopic clip ligtion group were sucessfully cured. There were only 3 cases showedl a little bleeding in this group. In the endoscopic snare resection group, there were 10 cases showed bleeding,8 cases showed polypectomy syndrome,1 case transferred into(operation). Conclusions The complication incidence in endoscopic clips ligation group is lower than that in endoscopic snare resection group. The endoscopic clipping brings about an effective and safe way to treat giant colonic polyps in children.

Purpose To investigate TRAP1 expression in esophageal cancer and its relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods Expression levels of TRAP1 in 60 pairs of cancer and adjacent normal tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry, and the relevance between TRAP1 and clinicopathological features was evaluated.Kaplan-Meier and Cox proportional regression analyses were performed to determine the association of TRAP 1 expression and survival of the patients. Results The positive expression rate of TRAP1 was 55.0%,and the amount of relative protein transcript level was 2.7 ± 1.1 in the cancer tissue. The positive expression rate of TRAP1 was 11.7%,and the relative expression protein was 0.5 ± 0.4 in the adjacent normal tissue. The expression level of TRAP1 in cancerous tissue was significantly higher than that of tissue adjacent to carcinoma. There was no statistically significant difference between the expression levels of TRAP1 with sex, age, location, and degree of differentiation (P > 0.05).There was statistically significant relationship between recurrence, metastasis and TNM stages with the expression of TRAP1 levels (P < 0.05).The average survival time of TRAP1-negative patients was 69.0 months (95% CI:60.2-77.9) while the TRAP1-positive patients was 34.2 months (95% CI:24.4-44.1).High levels of TRAP1 were correlated with decreased survival of postoperative esophageal cancer patients (P < 0.05).Conclusion TRAP1 is overexpressed in esophageal cancer and associated with the progression and prognosis of esophageal cancer.

Objective To study the risk factors affecting neoplasm recurrence and survival of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)following liver transplantation(LT).Methods The clinicopatholo gic data, neoplasm recurrence and survival results of 118 patients with HCC receiving LT were retro- spectively analyzed and various clinicopathologic risk factors for neoplasm recurrence and survival were evaluated by univariate and multivariate analysis. Results The follow-up time ranged from 1 to 32 months. The recurrence rate was 37.3% and the mortality was 35.5%.The 12-,18-,24-month survival rate was 84.55%,70.30% and 62.24%,respectively.The 12-,18-,24-month neoplasm free survival rate was 69.05%,66.93% and 61.38%,respectively.In the univariate analysis,por- tal vein neoplasm thrombus(PVTT),Milan-criteria,neoplasm size, histological differentiation and pTNM stage were associated significantly with neoplasm recurrence, and PVTT,Milan-criteria,pre- operative alpha-fetoprotein(AFP),histological differentiation and pTNM stage were associated signif- icantly with survival rate;In the multivariate Logistic regression analysis,PVTT and histological dif- ferentiation were independent predictive factors of neoplasm recurrence, and multivariate Cox regres- sion analysis showed that PVTT and AFP independently associated with prognosis. Conclusions PVTT and histological differentiation are the most important predictive factors of neoplasm recur- rence, and PVTT and AFP independently predict the survival of patients undergoing LT.

A safe and effective anesthesia technique is necessary in ensuring a successful surgical operation in rabbit experiments.A variety of anesthesiamethod have been reported, yet, no one matured and widely accepted anesthesiamethod is available so far. This article aims to provide an information basis for further research on general anesthesia in rabbits by reviewing the literature on single and combined anesthesia techniques in rabbits reported in the last decade.

Based on the software of traditional Chinese medicine inheritance support system (TCMISS), this article aims to analyze the experience and composition rules for cough from the descendant of Meng He Medical School, Xu Di-hua. The cough cases treated by Xu Di-hua were collected, and recorded into TCMISS (V2.0). Data mining methods such as Apriori algorithm and complex system entropy cluster were used to analyze the medication principles of Xu Di-hua for cough from pathogenesis and therapeutie aspects, and dig out the frequency of the herbs in prescription, core medicine and new combinations. The experience of curing cough from Professor Xu Di-hua were well found in the research. He is good at choosing prescriptions accurately, and pays attention to simultaneous use of cold and moisture drugs with combination of tonification and purgation. He is skilled in adding or reducing materia medica flexibly, as well as regulating lung to relieve cough and eliminating phlegm by clearing heat.

Objective To investigate the application of the Monte Carlo dose calculation of output factors for electron beams in radiotherapy. Methods The code EGS4/MCTP was used to simulate the head of a medical linear accelerator (Varian 23EX) to calculate the output factors for 6 MeV,9 MeV and 18 MeV electron beams. The source-to-surface distance used was 100 cm.The field sizes ranged from 2 cm × 2 cm to 25 cm × 25 cm.The calculated output factors agreed with the corresponding measured factors which were measured by the IBA Phantom system to within 2%.Then,the output factors of direct articles and indirect articles which were under different energy and various cone-insert combinations were calculated by the code EGS4/MCTP.Results The calculated output factors agreement with the measurements is found to be mostly under the 1% level. The variation of output factors depends on the characteristics of the beams and the modifications that the various cone-insert combinations introduce to these characteristics. Conclusions Monte Carlo dose calculations for electron beams in homogeneous water phantoms have been demonstrated to be accurate under the 1% level in comparison with measurements. The output factors were influenced by energy and cone-insert combinations in complex ways.

Objective To explore the changes of CD40 and CD40 ligand(CD40L) levels and investigate their significances in children with graft-versus-host disease(GVHD)after related-donor human leukocyte antigen(HLA) matching allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT).Methods Nineteen patients with ?-thalassemia major and 1 patient with congenital inherent hemolytic anemia accepted umbilical cord blood transplantation(UCBT) and allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation(allo-PBSCT),respectively,and all cases were received successfully related-donor human leukocyte antigen matching allogeneic HSCT.Peripheral blood samples were obtained before and after transplantation, the time when GVHD happened, the expressions of CD40 and CD40L were measured by using immunofluresence asssy. Results Four UCBT children and 3 allo-PBSCT children had no acute GVHD.Thirteen children had acute GVHD(degreeⅠ-Ⅳ),the expressions of CD40L on CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in the patients with acute GVHD increased, especially in allo-PBSCT.Five cases of UCBT and 12 cases of allo-PBSCT patients had chronic GVHD,the expressions of CD40L+,CD25+ and CD69+ on CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in patients with chronic GVHD increased obviously. The expression of CD19+CD40+ was lower than normal within 3 months after transplantation. Conclusions The high expression of CD40L+T cells in periferal blood after HSCT was related to the activation and proliferation of T cells in the development of GVHD in HSCT.
