PAX6 gene plays an important role in embryological development, and the mutation of this gene may result incongenital aniridia, retinoblastoma, macula hypoplasia, Peters' anomaly and so on. A brief introduction of the background PAX6 gene, and the association between PAX6 and retinal diseases were summarized in this review.

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy of treating traumatic optic neuropathy( TON) with mouse nerve growth factor.
METHODS: We searched the Cochrane Library, Pubmed, Medline, CNKI, Wanfang database and VIP to collect randomized controlled trials ( RCTs ) of using mouse nerve growth factor for TON. The quality of the included trials was assessed and poor-qualified trials were eliminated before the meta - analysis was conducted.
RESULTS:Seven RCTs with a total of 399 eyes included were retrieved, and OR=3. 78 with a 95%CI of [ 2. 35, 6.06], the difference was significant (P<0. 01).
CONCLUSION:The existing evidence supports that the prognosis of TON is better when mouse nerve growth factor are adopted in treatment, but there is still a need for well-planned, large-scale and multicenter RCTs to verify it.

?Ocular trauma related glaucoma is one of secondary glaucoma, which can lead to serious visual loss. According to the complex clinical findings and pathogenesis of ocular trauma related glaucoma, we divide traumatic secondary glaucoma into hyphema related glaucoma, angle recession related, lens injury related, adhesion and proliferation related. The treatment of secondary traumatic glaucoma with ocular trauma were different, specific treatment measures should be given according to the specific case to protect visual function.

Desmoplastic small round cell tumors (DSRCTs) are a rare malignancy found in male adolescents that initially occur mostly in the abdominal cavity. Diagnosis is based on the histologic analysis of biopsies, which typically show small round blue cells in nests separated by abundant desmoplastic stroma. DSRCTs are associated with a unique chromosomal translocation t (11:22) (p 13;q 12) that involves the Ewing's sarcoma (EWS) gene and the Wilms' tumor (WT1) gene. Reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction can be used to detect the fusion gene in fresh or paraffin-embedded tissues, which confirms the diagnosis. The prognosis is particularly poor. The median survival ranges from 17 to 25 months. Management of DSRCT remains challenging despite the use of aggressive ther-apies such as polychemotherapy, debulking surgery, and whole abdominal radiation. Several methods for improving patient survival are being evaluated, such as the addition of chemotherapy and targeted therapies to normal neoadjuvant protocols, complete surgical resec-tion with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy, postoperative intensity-modulated radiation therapy, and yttrium-90 microsphere liver embolization for treating hepatic metastases.

Abstract?AlM: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of glaucoma filtration surgery combined with the application of 5 - fluorouracil for clinical treatment to offer the reference.?METHODS:A total of 91 cases of patients with glaucoma treated in our hospital were randomly divided into three groups, 30 cases of group A were given mitomycin in surgery, 31 cases of group B were given 5-fluorouracil, 30 cases of group C were given cyclosporine. Objective To investigate the drinking water quality of secondary water supply in Tongzhou District, Beijing in order to establish a data monitoring management system. Methods The uniform questionnaires were used for the on-the-spot investigation at secondary water supply units in the whole district, which included secondary water supply facility situations, environmental sanitary conditions and health management and so on. At the same time, municipal water and secondary supply water were tested. Results 48 units of secondary water supply were investigated. In this investigation, the main systems of secondary water supply were the low water tank added frequency conversion pump(accounts for 77.1%) and the inverter constant pressure water supply system with negative pressure(accounts for 14.3%). According to the hygienic requirements, the unqualified rate of water tank structure, disinfection facility and water tank room were 81.0%, 73.3% and 87.3% respectively; besides, 39.6% of the units used the invalid hygienic licenses, 43.5% of the water managers had no health certificates, and 54.5% of the units had never cleaned their water tanks. The total qualification rate of the secondary water supply was 66.7%. The main items that were not up to the standard were ammonia-nitrogen, free chlorine, recognizable objects with naked eyes, total bacteria count and turbidity. For the different water material, the qualification rate showed a significant difference(P=0.023). Conclusion The drinking water quality of the secondary water supply is lower than before and the preventive hygiene supervision and evaluation is comparatively delayed in the investigated district.

OBJECTIVE:To probe into the integrity of package insert for 75 kinds of commonly used antiinfective agents for injection in our hospital and to provide reference for rational use of antiinfective agents for injection. METHODS:According to Drug Description Specification and Management Regulation for Drug Description and Label,the terms included in package insert for antiinfective agents for injection were analyzed statistically. RESULTS:The package inserts for 75 kinds of antiinfective agents for injection were enrolled. The proportion of integral items were high while that of some terms related to clinic were low such as dosage and usage,medication for children,over dosage and skin test. The descriptions of PK,pharmacology,toxicdogy, ADR,et al. were very simple and different. CONCLUSION:It is suggested that items about over dosage and medication for special population should be detailed as well as usage so that package insert can guide rational use of drugs in the clinic.

Alternative splicing is a process refering a pre-mRNA transforms to different mature mRNAs by different splicing sites combination, and then the mRNAs translate to various proteins.This process is regulated by a variety of cis acting elements and trans acting factors.Recent studies have shown that aberrant alternative splicing is prevalent in leukemia patients, and is closely associated with leukemic occurrence, development and chemotherapy resistance.This shows us that aberrant altemative splicing may be helpful to leukemia diagnosis and treatment.
