Chinese Journal of Clinical Laboratory Science 2001;19(3):142-144
Objective To study the fecel-oral and blood transfusion of TT virus. Methods Paired feces and serum samples from 6 patients with type B and/or C hepatitis were tested for TTV DNA and its titers by PCR with seminested primers.Genotypes were determined after their sequences were compared with the original N22 and TA278 clone. Results TTV DNA was detected in sera from all patients, while it was detected in feces from 3 patients, including 2 with high viral titers in serum. The detection of fecal TTV DNA was dependent on the viral titers in serum.TTV isolates in 3 pairs of feces and serum had identical sequence of 222 base pairs.Their genotypes were 1a,1b and 2,respectively.Conclusion The excretion of TTV into feces indicates that TTV would be transmitted not only parenterally but also nonparenterally by a fecal-oral route.

OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical outcomes of anterior cervical decompression plus sublevel fusion and posterior cervical laminoplasty in treating multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy.
METHODSThe clinical data of 56 patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy were retrospectively analyzed from July 2009 to June 2012. There were 32 males and 24 females, aged from 42 to 79 years old with an average of (56.9 +/- 12.8) years. All patients had the typical clinical features of cervical spondylotic myelopathy, radiological evidences, and courses of disease were from 2 months to 16 years with an average of (10.6 +/- 3.2)years. Of them,34 patients were treated with anterior cervical decompression plus sublevel fusion (anterior fusion group) and 22 patients with posterior cervical laminoplasty (posterior laminoplasty group). JOA score and radiological data were used to evaluate the clinical results:
RESULTSNo complications about nerve and blood vessel was found and the patients were followed up from 24 to 36 months with an average of 28.6 months. In anterior fusion group, the cervical anterior column height was significantly increased and the anterior cervical curvature angle was significantly decreased at 2 weeks after surgery (P < 0.05). In posterior laminoplasty group, there was no significant difference in above items between preoperative and postoperative at 2 weeks, final follow-up. Postoperative at 2 weeks and final follow-up, there was significant difference in anterior cervical curvature angle between two groups (P<0.05). Postoperative JOA score had obviously improved in all patients, at 3 months after operation and final follow-up, anterior fusion group was better than that of posterior laminoplasty group (P < .05).
CONCLUSIONThe anterior sublevel fusion can effectively restore cervical anterior column height, and compared with the posterior cervical laminoplasty, it can obviously improve the spinal cord function. It is an effective method for the multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathv.

Objective To observe the effect of leukocytapheresis(LCAP)on the coagulation, fibrinolysis system and lung injury in the endotoxemia dog and explore the mechanism in the endotoxin-induced lung injury dog. Methods Endotoxemia-induced model in dogs was established by administration of lipopolysaccharide(LPS,2 mg/kg).Separation of the leucocytes wag performed with the automated continuous flow blood cell separators.A total of 30 male mongrel dogs were randomly divided into LPS group(group L,only injected with LPS,with no LCAP),sham LCAP group(group S,received sham LCAP at 12-14 hours after administration of LPS)and LCAP treatment group(group T,received LCAP at 12-14 hours after administration of LPS),10 dogs per group. The dynamic changes of the activated protein C(APC),soluble thrombomodulin and plagminogen activator inhibitor-1 in the serum were measured at 0 hour before LPS administration,at 2,6,12,14,16,24 and 36 hours after administration of LPS.Results Through LCAP,there found the following four results:(1) the APC level in the serum of the group T wag(50.805±4.422)μg/ml and(40.480±2.993)μg/ml at 14 hours and 16 hours respectively, which were significantly higher than(45.881±4.024)μml and(35.935±4.057)μg/ml in the group L(P<0.05).(2)The expressions of soluble thrombomadulin in the group T was (9.688±O.914)μml and(10.492±O.865)μg/ml at 14 hours and 16 hours respectively, which was statistically lower than(11.005±0.854)μg/ml and(12.04±0.954)ug/ml in the group L(P<0.05).(3)Thelevel of plagminogen activatorinhibitor-1 in the group T was lower than that in the group the group T Wag statistically lower than that in the group L(ALI/ARDS occurred in 2 and 7 dogs of the groups T and L respectively within 36 hours after infusion of LPS.P<0.05). Conclusions At the decrease the incidence of acute lung injury partly due to its role in improving the function of coagulation and fibrinolysis.

Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy of ozone injection in treating lumbar disc herniation. Methods One hundred and four patients with CT or MRI proved lumbar disc herniation, including 144 diseased lumbar discs, were enrolled in this study. The main complains were severe pain or numbness in the low back and lower limbs. Under the X-ray guidance, a 21 G needle was punctured into the disc, followed by an injection of 4-40 ml ozone (50 ug/ml) and 40 mg prednisolone acetate into intradiscal and paravertebral space. Results All patients were followed up for 3 to 84 months with an average time of 38 months. The last follow-up check was carried out in March of 2009. The total effective rate was 77.1%, with no occurrence of any serious complications. Conclusion The percutaneous injection of medical ozone into disc and paravertebral space is an effective and safe method for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation.

Objective To summarize the experiences in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repairing for adult patients. Methods Clinical data of 512 hernia cases admitted in our center from March 2007 to Sep 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 437 cases of single-sided hernia, including 281 indirect inguinal hernia,86 direct inguinal hernia,15 femoral hernia,16 combined inguinal hernia and 39 recurrent hernia. There were also 75 cases of double-sided inguinal hernia, including 3 recurrent hernia. There were 41 acute incarcerated hernia cases. The average postoperative follow up time was(29 ± 12) months. Results 507 cases underwent successful laparoscopic repair, and 5 cases were converted to open procedure. There were 238 TAPP and 269 TEP in laparoscopic operations. The average operative time for TAPP was (69 ±19) min,and (58 ±15) min for TEP.The average length of postoperative stay was (5.0 ± 1.5) days. The percentage of resuming normal activity after 2 weeks and 4 weeks were 95.7% (485/507) and 99.0%(502/507).The most common postoperative complications were seroma (9.7%,49/507),transient paresthesia (4.1%,21/507) and chronic pain (0.8%,4/507).The recurrence rate was 0.6% (3/507).Conclusions Laparoscopic repair of inguinal hernia has the advantage of less trauma, faster recovery, and lower recurrence rate.
