International Eye Science 2014;(11):1995-1998
Retinoblastoma(RB)is the most common intraocular malignancy of children with extremely poor prognosis. MicroRNAs are small non-coding single-stranded RNAs in eukaryotic cells, which regulate the expression of gene by mRNA degradation or translation inhibition. MicroRNAs, acting as oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes, are associated with the occurrence and development of RB directly, which is vital for the early diagnosis and clinical targeted therapy of RB. This review summarized the expression of microRNAs in RB and the related mechanism.

China Tropical Medicine 2023;23(8):839-
Abstract: Objective To investigate the type and distribution of drug resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) in Hainan tuberculosis hospital from 2019 to 2021, and to provide reference for the development of drug resistant tuberculosis prevention and control strategy. Methods From 2019 to 2021, a total of 1 687 strains of sputum were isolated and cultured and identified as MTB. Drug sensitivity testing was performed on eight anti-tuberculosis drugs: isoniazid (INH), rifampicin (RFP, R), ethambutol (EMB), streptomycin (SM), kanamycin (KM), capreomycin (CPM), ofloxacin (OFX), and propylthioisoniacamide (PTO). The drug resistance analysis was conducted. Results Among the 1 687 MTB strains, the overall drug resistance rate was 41.32% (697), with a single drug resistance rate of 11.62% (196), a multi-drug resistance rate of 4.10% (69), a extensive drug resistance rate of 23.71% (400), a pan-drug resistance rate of 1.90% (32), and a rifampicin
resistance rate of 28.10% (474), and the main drug resistance types were extensive drug resistance and rifampicin resistance. The order of resistance to the eight drugs was OFX (64) > SM (62) > INH (48) > RFP (19) > CPM (2) > KM (1) > EMB (0) and PTO (0). The rate of resistance to INH and RFP of first-line drugs in newly treated patients was lower than that in retreated patients (χ2=0.110, 0.765; P>0.05); the rate of resistance to second-line drugs OFX, CPM and KM in initially treated patients was lower than that in retreated patients (χ2=1.037, 1.212, 1.653; P>0.05). The total drug resistance rate in 2019 was 51.16%, which was higher than that in 2020 (35.08%) and 2021 (38.89%). The difference between groups was significant (χ2=29.25,16.60; P=0.000), but there was no significant difference in overall drug resistance rate between 2020 and 2021 (χ2=1.823, P=0.177). Among the occupational types of tuberculosis patients, farmers were the main ones, accounting for 56.25% (949). The patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis were mainly distributed in Haikou City (165) > Wanning City (72) > Chengmai County(64) > Wenchang City (51) = Dongfang City (51) > Danzhou City (48), and patients in these six areas accounting for 64.71%(451/697). Conclusions The drug resistance rate of tuberculosis in Hainan Province is relatively high, with OFX and SM resistance being the main types of drug resistance. The extensive drug resistance rate is higher than the national average level. Therefore, surveillance and treatment should be strengthened and optimized to reduce the prevalence of drug-resistant tuberculosis.

International Eye Science 2017;17(7):1275-1277
To the cataract patient after corneal refractive surgery, if the intraocular lens power was determined by conventional formulas, different refractive errors may be produced after intraocular lens implantation. This inaccuracy of the lens power mainly came from 2 aspects-errors of corneal refractive power measurement and errors of formulas.Besides, imprecise of ocular axial length measurement and invalid lens position calculation also contributed to the inaccuracy of lens power. Therefore, in order to reduce refractive errors of cataractous surgery in patient underwent refractive surgery, appropriate method should be used to estimate the refractive power of corneal, and proper formula should be selected to calculate intraocular lens power.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2009;29(4):325-329
OBJECTIVETo investigate the antagonizing effect of Hirsutella sinensis (HS) on renal tubular epithelial-myofibroblast transdifferentiation (TEMT) and its possible pathogenic mechanism in rats with chronic aristolochic acid nephropathy (CAAN).
METHODSEighteen male Sprague-Dawley rats were equally divided into 3 groups, the model (M) group, the intervention (I) group and the control (C) group. The 24 h urinary protein (UP) in rats was measured before intervention and at the end of the 1st, 4th, 8th, and 12th week, and creatinine clearance rate (CCr) was measured before intervention and at the end of the 12th week respectively. All rats were sacrificed at the end of the 12th week, their kidney was taken for examining the degree of fibrosis in renal interstitial with Masson's stain and determining mRNA and protein expressions of transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-beta1), Snail, alpha-smooth muscle actin (alpha-SMA) and cytokeratin in renal tissue by Real-time RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry staining, respectively.
RESULTSCompared with the C group, CCr was significantly lower, while 24 h UP was higher; the relative area of interstitial fibrosis was significantly larger in the M group; besides, the mRNA and protein expressions of TGF-beta1, Snail and alpha-SMA were significantly up-regulated (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05), and those of cytokeratin were significantly down-regulated (P < 0.01) in renal tissue of the M group. While in the I group, all the above-mentioned abnormalities were restored to some extent (P < 0.05) and showed significant difference (all P < 0.05) as compared with those in the M group.
CONCLUSIONHS can downregulate TGF-beta1 and Snail expressions in renal tissue, antagonize TEMT and renal interstitial fibrosis, and improve renal function in CAAN rats.
