Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(42):-
After Achilles tendon (AT) rupture operation, traditional gypsum immobilization must lead to AT in a condition of a tension-free or even "disuse"-negative balance healing system, which may inhibit the key opportunity of AT healing process to induce "active" mechanical signals stimulation, and AT "passively or intermittently" accepts the mechanical stimulation even applying the ultrasound, vibration and other mechanical stimulation to AT in the course of treatment. If using the method of active movement after operation,it can accelerate the AT healing, maintain function and promote re-construction of the AT,thereby help to restore the biomechanical properties of AT. Using proteomics techniques can reveal the mechanical signal transduction mechanisms of kinesiatrics promoting the AT healing in the high-throughput molecular level.

Objective To investigate the effects of different depth of anesthesia on ScvO2 and ABL in elderly patients with gastrointestinal cancer. Methods Totally 55 elderly patients undergoing gastrointestinal sur-gery were randomly divided into deep anesthesia group(BIS40-49)(group D,n=27)and light anesthesia group (BIS50-59)(group S,n = 28). While SVV value was fixed, fluid management was conducted while monitoring CVP. HR,MAP,the change of central venous oxygen saturation and lactic acid index were recorded in different time points. Results Propofol dosage in group D and group S indicated statistical significance(P<0.05). ScvO2 in group S in T3~T5 was higher than that in T0 and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05). Com-pared with ScvO2 in T3 in group D,that in group S was significantly higher and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.01),but no significant difference was found in other time point in 2 groups(P>0.05). There was no significant difference between and within ABL groups in each time period(P>0.05). There was no significant difference in terms of other indicators between 2 groups. Conclusions For elderly patients with gastrointestinal surgery, shallow anesthesia can improve tissue oxygenation and reduce the amount of anesthetics.

Full-length NS5A gene of the hepatitis C virus was amplified by PCR using plasmid pBAC25 containing HCV nonstructural gene as template. The amplified fragment (about 1.34 kb) was cloned into plasmid pQE32, and the recombinant plasmid pQENS5A was expressed in JM109 strain. The NS5A protein was purified by NiSO4 metal chelating resin, and characterized by Western-blot. Its antigenecity was determined by ELISA. The positive detection rate of anti-NS5A was 75% (69/92) in ninety-two clinic sera. The positive rate of anti-NS5A was 82.5% (33/40) in fourty positive standand sera, and the negative rate of anti-NS5A was 100% (40/40) in fourty negative standand sera. The results showed that the Full-length NS5A proteinn had the higher sensitivity and specificity in the detection of HCV antibody in sera, we suggested that NS5A protein was a useful antigen for blood screening.

OBJECTIVEIBS-D rat model was established to assess the effect of Shen warming Pi strengthening method (SWPSM) for intervening diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) by observing rats' general state, stool properties, AWR ranking, and histopathological changes.
METHODSTotally 72 rats were randomly divided into 6 groups, i.e. the normal group, the model group, the high, middle, low dose SWPSM groups, and the control group, 12 in each group. The IBS-D rat model was successfully established referring to AL-Chaer ED's modeling method. After modeling high, middle, and low dose SWPS Recipe boil-free granules were given by gastrogavage to rats in corresponding treatment groups. Sishen Pill boil-free granule was given by gastrogavage to those in the control group. Equal volume of normal saline was given by gastrogavage to rats in the model group. The medication lasted for 2 weeks. Rats' general state, stool properties, abdominal withdrawal reflex (AWR) ranking, and histopathological changes were observed.
RESULTSAfter treatment, the general state of all rats got im- provement to various degrees. The improvement in the high and middle dose SWPS Recipe groups were superior to that in the low dose SWPS Recipe group and the control group (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in the growth rate between after and before treatment in each group (P > 0.05). Compared with the model group and the low dose SWPS Recipe group, the defecation amount within 4 h was less in the high and middle dose SWPS Recipe groups and the control group (P < 0.05). The Bristol ranking score, average ranking of loose stool, ratio of dry stool and wet stool were lower in the high and middle dose SWPS Recipe groups than in the control group and the low dose SWPS Recipe group (P < 0.05). The AWR ranking score was lower in the high and middle dose SWPS Recipe groups than in the control group when the volume of balloon dilation was 1.5 mL. There was no organic change of histological or morphological observation.
CONCLUSIONSHigh sensitive IBS-D model was proved to be reliable. SWPSM could reduce the quantity of stools, lower Bristol ranking score, average ranking of loose stools as well as ratios of dry stool and wet stool, contributing to reducing the high sensitivity of rats' visceral organs to some extent.

10.Correlation between clinical manifestation and salivary secretion of xerostomia patients.
West China Journal of Stomatology 2006;24(3):240-260
OBJECTIVETo observe the general status, subjective syndromes, objective signs and salivary secretion of xerostomia patients for studying their correlations.
METHODSEighty patients' clinical data were collected and classified according to certain standards. The salivary secretion including the unstimulated whole saliva (UWS) and stimulated whole saliva (SWS) in five minutes was measured by spit method.
RESULTSDecreased UWS was the main presentation of xerostomia which accouted for seventy five percents. Significantly statistical correlation were found between the decreased UWS and the dry mouth signs but not the age, sex and the accompany syndromes.
CONCLUSIONXerostomia has a high prevalence in middle-aged women with a long course and obvious regularity. The decreased UWS is the main presentation which was not caused by physiological changes of salivary glands and has no correlation with many clinical manifestations.
