ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of nickel-titanium(Ni-Ti) shape memory alloy embracing internal fixer on oblique or spiral fracture.Methods23 cases with spiral or oblique fracture accepted internal fixation with Ni-Ti shape memory alloy embracing.The time of bone healing,articular function,the appearance and function of the wound extremity were evaluated after 9～34 months follow-up.ResultsAll fractures healed in 4～16 weeks after operation.None infection,nonunion,embracing emersion or break had been found. The fine rate was 91.3%.ConclusionThe effect of Ni-Ti shape memory alloy embracing internal fixer on long spiral or long oblique fracture is satisfactory.

The realization of symptom measurement of the traditional Chinese medicine is a must for the development of traditional Chinese medicine, which obtained a common acceptation academically. This article believed the methods for realizing symptom measurement are the combination of both TCM two basic theories of "the wholism conception" and "treatment based on syndrome differentiation" and modern scientific measures and methods. Meanwhile, the western medicine should be simply excluded, other than simply compare a TCM syndrome to a physiological and biochemical indicator of western medicine.

Objective To investigate the clinical features and changes of the patients with colorectal polyps in the recent 5 years of the Central Hospital of Jiangjin district.Methods Inpatients and outpatients with colorectal polyps found by colonoscopy were collected from January 2011 to December 2015 in Central Hospital of of Jiangjin district.Index of each patient's gender,age,the location,size,number and pathological results of each enrolled.Then the data were analyzed statistically.Results Patients with colorectal polyps in the ratio of male to female was 1.56:1(P＜0.05),middle and old aged group multiple (compared with the young group,P＜0.05);left half colon accounted for 53.0 ％ (P＜0.05),48.0 ％ of them were single shot,diameter≤ 1 cm accounted for most.Adenomatous polyp accounted for 71.0％,most of them were tubular adenoma (54.0％).29.9％ of patients with colorectal polyps had abdominal pain,29.0 ％ changed in bowel habits and traits,only 6.7 ％ of the patients had typical hematochezia.Conclusion According to the anlysis results there's no obvious changes happened on the clinical features of colorectal polyps in the past 5 years.

ObjectiveTo analyze the clinical features and prognostic factors of occult breast cancer. MethodsThe clinical features and prognostic factors of 62 occult breast cancer patients,who were treated in Tianjin Cancer Hospital from October 1997 to October 2011,were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsThe 3-year,5-year and 10-year overall survival rates of 62 cases were 87.4％,76.4％,73.2％ respectively,a median of 53 months.The 3-,5-,and 10-year overall survival rates of the patients with ＞4 positive lymph nodes are lower than that of patients with ≤4 nodes (77.8％,64.8％,38.9％ vs.90.7％,86.7％,86.7％,P =0.015 ) ;The 3-year and 5-year overall survival rates of patients with primary cancer found in removed breast tissue are lower than that in those primary tumor was not found (60.0％,40.0％,40.0％ vs.92.0％,83.6％,79.2％,P =0.023).The 3-year,5-year and 10-year overall survival rates in patients with recurrence and metastasis are lower than that of patients without (63.5％,28.6％,19.0％ vs.97.1％,97.1 ％,97.1％,P =0.000). ConclusionsThe prognosis of occult breast cancer is related with the number of positive lymph node,pathology,recurrence and metastasis.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effects of Yili dark bee propolis on the main cariogenic biofilm and mechanisms.

METHODSSusceptibilities to the ethanolic extract of propolis against Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans), Streptococcus sobrinus (S. sobrinus), Streptococcus sanguis (S. sanguis), Actinomyces viscosus (A. viscosus), and Actinomyces naeslundii (A. naeslundii) were analyzed by crystal violet stain method to determine the minimum biofilm eradication concentration (MBEC). The biofilm was initially cultivated for 24 h. Subsequently, the propolis groups with different concentration MBEC and initial pH 7.0 were cultured for 24 h. Moreover, the pH value was measured to evaluate the acid-producing ability of the tested plaque biofilm. The effects of propolis on the insoluble extracellular polysaccharide synthesis of S. mutans biofilm were evaluated by anthrone method.

RESULTSThe MBEC of Yili propolis on S. mutans, S. sobrinus, S. sanguis, A. viscosus, and A. naeslundii were 6.25, 1.56, 3.13, 0.78, and 0.78 mg.mL-1, respectively. Propolis could decrease the ΔpH of the tested plaque biofilm, and the differences between the control and propolis groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). At MBEC, propolis could reduce the ability of S. mutans in synthesizing insoluble extracellular polysaccharides.

CONCLUSIONYili propolis demonstrate remarkable eradicative effects on the cariogenic plaque biofilm, showing inhibition of the synthesis of biofilm-produced acids and insoluble extracellular polysaccharides.
