Objective Investigating activity variance of PKC.AchE and HSP70 in different tissues of rabbits caused by dying from suspension of anterior limbs.in order to study how factors above contribute in the mechanism of death.Methods Suspend rabbit by its anterior limbs until it dies.and coilect tissue from its diaphragmatic muscle,intercostal muscle,myocardium,gastrocnemius,cerebrum,brain stem,liver,kidney and lung.In the control groups,collect same tissues of rabbits dying from strangulation,craniocerebral injury and diseases as contrast.Detect activity of PKC,AchE and HSP70 in tissues of those groups mentioned above by SP stain of immunohistochemistry.and statistically analyze result of detection by rank SUm test of independent samples of multi-groups.Results Compared with data from other control groups,there are more obvious expressions in following tissues of group of suspension:PKC in disphragmatic muscle,intercostal muscles and cerebrum(P＜0.05);AchE in disphragmatic muscles,intercostal muscles,myocardium,cerebrum,liver and nerve tract ofmuscles(P＜0.05);HSP70 in cerebrum,myocardium and lung(P＜0.05).Conclusion Through different mechanisms,PKC,AchE and HSP70 could take some certain contributions in death pmcess of suspension by anterior limbs,and the results above could offer some experimental evidences for related studies and medicolegal investigations.

Objective To study the expression and value of CXCR1 and CXCR2 on neutrophils, CD14~+ monocytes and CD3~+ T lymphocytes of peripberol blood of ankylosing spondylitis(AS)patients and to investigate the correlation between CXCR1,CXCR2 and disease activity.Methods A case control study was designed and enrolled 30 active AS,30 active rheumatoid arthritis(RA)and 30 healthy controls.The levels of CXCR1 and CXCR2 expression on neutrophils,CD3~+ T cells and CD14~+ monocytes of peripheral blood of the patients and healthy controls enrolled were measured and analyzed by flow cytometry by measuring the mean fluorescence intensity(MFI)channel.The correlations between the level of CXCR1 and CXCR2 anti disease activity or functional index of AS such as BASDAI,BASF1,ESR and CRP were analyzed.Results The MFI of CXCR1 expression on CD3~+ T lymphocytes of peripheral blood was significantly higher in AS patients (41?24)than that in RA patients(18?10)and healthy controls(19?7)(P

Genuine medicinal materials with special characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), is recognized as high quality medicine. Both ancient records and modern research considered that the origin is an important reason for the formation of genuine medicinal materials. However, blindly transplanting of genuine medicinal materials has led to the quality decline and counterfeit medicines appeared in production or sale progress, which may increase the risk of accidents in TCM. Frequent accidents emerged in Chinese herbal affects its export. What's more, it is a great threat to the medication safety in TCM clinical. There is an urgent need to implement traceability systems of TCM, which could provide convenient information record and traceability of TCM circulation. This paper reviews a variety of technical methods for genuine medicinal materials traceability, and proposed the establishment of genuine medicinal materials traceability system based on two-dimensional code and network database.

Objective Adopting serology assay-fluorescent antibody to membrane antigen (FAMA) as "gold standard" , sero-prevalence status of varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infection was investigated, in Guangzhou. Methods FAMA test was established with VZV infected human embryo fibroblasts as antigens and fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC) labeled goat anti-human IgG as the secondary antibody. Sensitivity and specificity of the assay were evaluated. The sero-prevalence of anti-VZV IgG in 592 serum specimens randomly collected from a clinical laboratory, was analyzed with FAMA. Results Data from FAMA test showed no cross-reaction with other Herpesviruses when it was used to detect VZV antibodies. The overall prevalence of VZV antibody was 76.52%. Age-specific prevalence rates of VZV antibody in different age groups as: 1-3, 4-6, 7-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, ≥50, were found to be 14.67%, 51.56%, 73.91%, 91.26%, 92.78%, 95.65%, 98.11% and 100%, respectively.The sero-prevalence of 1-3 age group appeared the lowest but rose sharply with the increase of age but showing no association with gender. Conclusion Our data indicated that VZV infection occurred in early childhood, in Guangzhou, suggesting that the primary recipients of VZV vaccine should be under the 1-3 age group. Additional subjects for vaccination would be children above 3 years old with no history of VZV infection, and serology test negative for VZV. The assay was validated by its excellent specificity and could be used as the first choice in the detection of protective antibodies against VZV infection.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of CTP-SI in acute stroke less than 9 hours.Methods In present study."one-stop shop"CT examination were performed in 34 patients with symptoms of acute stroke in le88 than 9 hours.We divided patients into two groups according to with and without delayed perfusion on CTP-SI.and compared ASPECTS (Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score Study)scores on non-contrast CT(NCCT),arterial phase CTP-SI,venous phase CTP-SI with follow-up imaging.The ASPECTS were analyzed on arterial phase CTP-SI and veIlous phase CTP-SI using Wilcoxon rank-sum test.then compared with the follow up imaging ASPECTS using multiple linear regression.Results The median(min-max)scores of ASPECTS on NCCT,arterial phase CTP-SI,venous phase CTP-SI and follow-up imaging were 9.0(6.0-10.0),6.5(1.0-8.0),8.0(3.0-10.0)and 7.0(0-10.0)in group with delayed perfusion,respectively,and 9.0(1.0-10.0),8.5(1.0-10.0),8.5(1.0-10.0)and 8.0 (0～10.0)in group without delayed perfusion respectively.ASPECTs scores measured on arterial phase CTP-SI did not differ from venous phase CTP-SI in group without delayed perfusion ( Z = - 1.00, P =0.317), while there was significant difference in group with delayed perfusion (Z = -3.08, P = 0.002 ).There were significant correlation with ASPECTS scores measured on NCCT, arterial phase CTP-SI and venous phase CTP-SI to follow-up imaging ASPECTS (r =0.899,0.926,0.928,P ＜0.01 ) in group without delayed perfusion; ASPECTS measured in venous phase CTP-SI showed the best correlation to follow-up imaging ASPECTS (r = 0.762, P = 0.004) in group with delayed perfusion.Multiple linear regression showed that the correlation in only venous phase CTP-SI with foUow-up imaging ASPECTS was statistically significant:in group without delayed perfusion, Beta = 0.966, P ＜ 0.001 ; in group with delayed perfusion,Beta = 0.765, P = 0.004. Conclusion Presence of delayed porfusion in CTP-SI is quite important in identifying ischemic penumbra, which plays a critical role in imaging-guided thrombolytie therapy.

Objective To study the effects of low calcium dialysate on bone mineral density (BMD) in old patients with low turnover renal osteodystrophy under maintenance hemodialysis.Methods Totally 72 elderly patients aged≥ 60 years under MHD for 6 months or more with parathyroid hormone(iPTH)＜100 ng/L were selected and randomly divided into treatment group(n=36,calcium 1.25 mmol/L in dialysate)and a control group(n =36,calcium 1.5 mmol/L in dialysate),for 12 months of treatment.The changes of albumin-corrected calcium and phosphorus,calciumphosphorus product,iPTH level,bone mineral density,and other indicators as well as related adverse events were observed before and 12 months after the study.Results There was no statistically significant difference in general conditions and the correlated laboratory examinations between the two groups before and after treatment (P ＞ 0.05).After dialytic treatments with dialysate containing calcium 1.25 mmol/L for 12 months,the therapy group versus pre-therapy and control group showed statistically significant decrease in parameters of mean arterial pressure(MAP) [(88.6 ± 9.2) vs.(92.6±10.4)and(93.7±8.8)mmHg],serum calcium[(2.4±0.1)vs.(2.6±0.3)and(2.6±0.2)mmol/L,t =5.061,5.074],phosphorus[(2.0±0.2)vs.(2.1 ±0.2)and(2.1±0.3)mmol/L,t=2.276,2.271],calcium-phosphorus product[(4.7 ± 0.5) vs.(5.3 ± 0.6) and (5.4 ± 0.7) mmol2 / L2,t =4.682,4.627](all P＜0.05),and showed statistically significant increase in parameters of iPTH levels[(132.6 ±37.8) vs.(71.3 ± 11.48) and (69.7 ± 16.0) ng/L;t value 8.824 and 9.048,respectively],bone mineral density values(Lumbar:0.8±0.9 vs.-1.2±1.1 and-1.2±1.1;t value 2.170 and 2.170,respectivly.Femoral neck:-0.8± 1.0 vs.1.3±1.2 and-1.3±1.3;t value 2.258 and 2.243,respectively) (all P＜0.05).In the control group after 12 months of treatment with calcium 1.5mmol/L dialysate,there was no significant difference in related parameters (P＞ 0.05).There was no significant difference in the adverse reactions between study and control groups (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions The low calcium dialysate(calcium 1.25 mmol/L)used in elderly patients with iPTH＜100 ng/L under MHD can effectively improve the excessive depression of parathyroid function and the decreased BMD,and better control the albumin corrected calcium,phosphorus,calcium-phosphorus product level,and has a good security.

A method of comprehensive chemical pattern recognition of Atractylodis Rhizoma was established by GC-MS fingerprint, principal component analysis, cluster analysis and discriminant analysis. A DB-wax column (0.25 mm x 60 m, 0.25 microm) with El ion source and 70 V electron multiplier were used for GC-MS analysis. Using principal component analysis, cluster analysis, and discriminant analysis, 15 common peaks of sample fingerprints for chemical pattern recognition research were analysed. The same results were obtained from the fingerprint, principal component analysis and cluster analysis, which could use to distinguish genuine Atractylodes lancea, ungenuine A. lancea and A. chinensis. Thus, this method could be used for the quality control and comprehensive evaluation of Atractylodis Rhizoma.

Objective To investigate the usefulness of 99Tcm-MDP whole body bone scintigraphy (WBBS) in patients with synovitis,acne,pustulosis,hyperostosis,osteitis (SAPHO) syndrome.Methods 99Tcm- MDP WBBS was performed in 25 patients (6 males,19 females,mean age =(55.1 ±9.8) years)with SAPHO syndrome.Bone lesions were classified into five categories:anterior chest wall,spine,mandible,sacroiliac joint,and limbs.The typical scintigraphic manifestations of SAPHO syndrome were summarized and compared to other radiological imaging data.Results Among 25 patients,32％ of cases (8/25)were associated with skin lesion; 48％ ( 12/25 ) were pathologically diagnosed with chronic nonspecific bone inflammation by bone biopsy.On 99Tcm-MDP WBBS,abnormal metabolic foci at anterior chest wall were found in all cases,most of which located in the sternocostoclavicular region (96％,24/25 ),including sternoclavicular joints (60％,15/25),first costosternal junctions (48％,12/25),and manubriosternal junctions (44％,11/25 ).Only 20％ of the patients (5/25) demonstrated the typical scintigraphic characteristic:“bull's head” sign.The second most frequent part was spine (44％,11/25).Appendicular skeleton was affected in 16％ (4/25) patients.WBBS also demonstrated additional skeletal lesions in 68％ (17/25 ) of the patients,mainly in first costosternal junctions (7 patients),sternoclavicular joints (6 patients),manubriosternal junctions (5 patients) and spine (4 patients).Conclusions Abnormal metabolic foci in sternocostoclavicular region and other imaging manifestations on 99Tcm- MDP WBBS can be used to diagnose,differentiate,and localize the insidious lesion and evaluate the lesion activity in patients with SAPHO syndrome.

BACKGROUND: Platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1), also known as CD31, is mainly distributed in vascular endothelial cells. Studies have shown that PECAM-1 is a very significant indicator of angiogenesis, and has been used as an indicator for vascular endothelial cells. The present study aimed to explore the relationship between the expression of PECAM-1 and the degree of acute lung injury (ALI) and fibrosis in paraquat (PQ) induced lung injury in rabbits. METHODS: Thirty-six adult New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into three groups (12 rabbits in each group) according to PQ dosage: 8 mg/kg (group A), 16 mg/kg (group B), and 32 mg/kg (group C). After PQ infusion, the rabbits were monitored for 7 days and then euthanized. The lungs were removed for histological evaluation. Masson staining was used to determine the degree of lung fibrosis (LF), and semi-quantitative immune-histochemistry analysis to determine the expression of PECAM-1. Pearson's product-moment correlation analysis was performed to evaluate the relationship between the expression of PECAM-1 and the extent of lung injuries expressed by ALI score and degree of LF. RESULTS: Rabbits in the three groups showed apparent poisoning. The rabbits survived longer in group A than in groups B and C (6.47±0.99 days vs. 6.09±1.04 days vs. 4.77±2.04 days) (P<0.05). ALI score was lower in group A than in groups B and C (8.33±1.03 vs. 9.83±1.17 vs. 11.50±1.38) (P<0.05), and there was statistically significant difference between group B and group C (P=0.03). LF was slighter in group A than in groups B and C (31.09％±2.05 ％ vs. 34.37％±1.62％ vs. 36.54％±0.44％) (P<0.05), and there was statistically significant difference between group B and group C (P=0.026). The PEACAM-1 expression was higher in group A than in groups B and C (20.31％±0.70％ vs. 19.34％±0.68％ vs. 18.37％±0.46％) (P<0.05), and there was statistically significant difference between group B and group C (P=0.017). Pearson's correlation analysis showed that the expression of PECAM-1 was negatively correlated to both ALI score (Coe=–0.732, P=0.001) and degree of LF (Coe=–0.779, P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The PECAM-1 expression significantly decreases in New Zealand rabbits after PQ poisoning, and the decrease is dose-dependent. The PECAM-1 expression is negatively correlated with ALI score and LF, showing a significant role in the development of lung injuries induced by PQ.
