Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2002;18(4):362-364
AIMTo examine the effects of different temperature protection on measures on preservation damages in liquid blood and explore the corresponding.
METHODSTake equal half blood samples from 10 healthy blood donors and divided each sample into two groups, put the fresh blood into CP2D-A solution at 0 degrees C and 4 degrees C, respectively and take the samples 21 days and 42 days, later and then measured the contents of membrane phospholipids with shafig-UR-rehman method, CaM with purification PED test, LPO with spectrophotometry.
RESULTSAt the same temperature, when the preservation time was prolonged, peroxidation was increased, the preservation damages were also augmented; the damages were declined when the temperature was lower during the same period, the aging of blood was more evident at 4 degrees C.
CONCLUSIONBlood peroxidation temperature is lower. The author pointed out the questions and prospects of blood preservation.

Objective:To investigate the independent correlation between serum IL-6 level and delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) and to evaluate its predictive value for DCI.Methods:Consecutive patients with aSAH admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical University from June 2017 to June 2019 were enrolled retrospectively. They were divided into DCI group and non-DCI group according to the diagnostic criteria of DCI. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the independent correlation between serum IL-6 and DCI. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of serum IL-6 level for DCI. Results:A total of 160 patients with aSAH were enrolled. They aged 66.1±8.1 years, and 98 were males (61.3%); 76 patients (47.5%) had DCI. Multivariate logistic analysis showed that after adjusting for smoking, hypertension, systolic blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, and drug treatment, serum IL-6 (the first quartile as a reference, and the third quartile: odds ratio[ OR] 3.885, 95% confidence interval [ CI]1.361-7.189; the fourth quartile: OR 9.706, 95% CI 3.412-18.344), Glasgow Coma Scale score ( OR 2.174, 95% CI 1.325-4.538) and Fisher grade ( OR 3.267, 95% CI 1.638-6.725) were independently associated with DCI. The ROC curve showed that the area under the curve of serum IL-6 for predicting DCI was 0.777 (95% CI 0.706-0.849), and the optimal cut-off value was 13.01 ng/L. The sensitivity and specificity of predicting DCI were 72.4% and 71.4%, respectively. Conclusions:Serum IL-6 is an independent risk factor for DCI after aSAH, and has certain predictive value for DCI.

OBJECTIVETo investigate immunity of a recombinant adenovirus vaccine (rAdV) containing codon-modified neuraminidase (Mod. NA) gene of H5N1 influenza virus in BALB/c mice and to screen for appropriate dose.
METHODSBALB/c mice were immunized with the rAdV-Mod.NA vaccine intramuscularly twice (double injection at 0 and 4th week) in three groups, low dosage (10(5) TCID50 per dose), medium dosage (10(7) TCID50 per dose) and high dosage (10(9) TCID50 per dose). The effect of humoral and cell-mediated immunity were analysed at 5th week.
RESULTS(1) The rAdV-Mod.NA vaccine could elicit both humoral and cell-mediated robust NA specific immunity in mice by neuraminidase inhibitor assay and IFN-gamma ELISpot assay; (2) 10(7) TCID50 per dose was the appropriate dose; (3) Peptide NA(109-124): CRTFFLTQGALLNDKH and peptide NA(182-199): AVAVLKYNGIITDTIKSW were the dominant epitopes for neuraminidase-immunized BALB/c mice, which was screened out from the whole length of neuraminidase of an H5N1 virus, A/Anhui/1l/2005.
CONCLUSIONThe recombinant adenovirus NA could induce specific humoral and cellular immune responses in BALB/c after immunization, which suggest rAdV-Mod.NA vaccine was a potential vaccine candidate against H5N1 influenza and worthy of further investigation.

This study evaluated the scientific nature and effectiveness of iterative optimization of prevention and control measures for local outbreaks caused by the BA.2 and BA.5.2 COVID-19 strains in Fujian Province in 2022,to provide a scientif-ic basis for responding to future new or recurrent respiratory infectious diseases.According to the theory of infectious disease dynamics, relevant information regarding the local epidemic situation caused by the BA.2 sub-type Omicron virus strain in March 2022 and BA.5.2 sub-type Omicron virus strain in October 2022 in Fujian Province was collected. The susceptible exposed infectious removed(SEIAR)model of COVID-19 infection with a latent period and asymptomatic infected persons was used to analyze the transmission dynam-ics of two local epidemic situations, and evaluate the preven-tion and control effects. The incubation period of the BA.2 epidemic was 3 days(1~9 days),the intergenerational inter-val was 3 days(1~5 days),and the initial Rt was 3.0(95%CI:2.7~3.3).The incubation period of the BA.5.2 epidemic was 2 days(1~6 days),the intergenerational interval was 1 day(0~2 days),and the initial R,was 1.9(95%CI:1.7~2.1).The fittingresults for the BA.2 and BA.5.2 epidemics were good, and no statistical difference was observed between the predic-ted and actual numbers of cases(x2BA.2=31.53,x2BA.5.2=27.88,P>0.05).If an emergency response had not been initiated, the BA.2 epidemic would have continued to spread andpeak on April 7th,with an estimated 638 035 cases. The BA.5.2 epidemic would have rapidly spread, reaching a peak on November 14th,with an estimated 685 940 cases. If one incubation period were detected early, the scale of the BA.2 epidemic would have decreased by 25.73%;if two incubation periods were detected early, the scale would have decreased by 79.56%,and if one incubation period had been delayed, the scale would have expanded by 13.72%.If one incubation period had been detected early in the BA.5.2 epidemic, the scale would have decreased by 35.04%;if two incubation periods had been detected early, the scale would have decreased by 92.47%;and if one incubation period had been delayed, the scale would have increased by 19.75%.The guiding ideology, and the prevention and control measures for handling two local epidemics were optimized and iterated. Our study indicated that implementing the"four early"measures ef-fectively decreased the scale of the epidemic, and earlier detection was associated with more significant control effects. This study provides valuable information for the prevention and control of new or recurrent respiratory infectious diseases.
