1.Current progress in postmenopausal women with dry eye
International Eye Science 2015;(8):1350-1352
Dry eye is one of the most frequently ocular surface diseases. Recent researches found that many reasons caused decrease of ocular surface damage and the quality of tears , such as the change of ocular surface, immuno-inflammatory responses, apoptosis and the reduction of sex hormone. It is reported that the decline of ovarian function and hormone level in postmenopausal women which leads to abnormal structure and function of tear film is more likely to develop dry eye. In this paper, the ocular surface, pathogenesis and progresses of treatment on postmenopausal women with dry eye are reviewed.

Objective To evaluate the value in following up the patients with clipped aneurysms with the subtraction CT angiography technique. Methods 30 consecutive patients with clipped aneurysms were followed up with 64-slice spiral CT angiography (CTA) and DS angiography 10 d later postoperatively.CT images were reconstructed with volume rendering (VR) and maximum intensity projection(MIP) techniques to display the vessels. The site of the clip and patency of the parent vessel on both CT and DSA were studies independently by two radiologists. Results The clips in 27 patients were showed clearly by the subtraction CTA.Subtraction CTA demonstrated a partial remnant of aneurysm in 2,28 cases were complete occlusion. The loading vessels were free in passing in 28 cases, occlusion and narrowing of a parent vessel were seen in one respectively. The sensitivity and specificity in detecting neck remnants on MSCT angiography were 67% and 100%,and the sensitivity and specificity in evaluating vessel patency were 100% and 100%,Inter-observer agreements were 0.78 and 1.00,respectively.Conclusion Subtraction CT angiography can be used as the mainly method in following up the patients with clipped aneurysms.

Objective To observe the effects of exogenous basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on radiation-induced apoptosis of C17.2 neural stem cells(NSCs) and explore the relationship between bFGF and Hes1,RBP-JK protein. Methods The cell viability was assessed using the MTT assay. After the cells attach to the flasks they were irradiated by the linear accelerator. And 5 min later, different concentrations of bFGF in accordance with the experimental design and cultured cells 48 h.Extracted total protein of each group and Western blot analysis showed the changes of the Hes1,RBP-JK protein. Results Compared with the control group, irradiation group cell growth was inhibited, the OD of 0 ng/ml bFGF group was 0.61±0.81,the OD of 80 ng/ml bFGF group was 1.21±1.01 and the control group was 1.51± 1.13.Compared with the control group, all groups showed statistically significant difference (P< 0.05).Western blot analysis showed that with the increasing concentrations of bFGF,RBP-JK expression gradually decreased, but Hes1 expression gradually increased. Conclusion Exogenous basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) can inhibit apoptosis of C17.2 NSCs.bFGF can regulate Notch signaling pathway downstream proteins Hes1,RBP-JK expression and inhibit neural stem cell apoptosis which were irradiated.

Objective: Observe the curative effect of basic recipes for removing phlegm and activating blood circulation in experimental model of non-alcoholic fatty liver in rats. Methods: Experimental animal model of non-alcoholic fatty liver in rats were established, then treated with Erchen decoction,TaohongSiwu decoction and the combination decoction.Basic biochemical indexes of rats were tested after treatment. Results: Erchen decoction can reduce the level of liver organ coefficient, cholesterin and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)(P

In order to make a rational and effective cure measure for lung cancer, people need to establish suitable animal model.Spontaneous or induced model needs long time to form tumor and the rate is not steady.Xenograft mouse model is widely used in laboratories because of its steady tumor formation rate and less time in oncogenesis.Engineered mouse model which is based on genetic technology not only helps us to understand pathological process of lung cancer, but also can provide an ideal preclinical model of targeted therapy experiment, and it will be the important development direction of lung cancer animal model.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the efficacy and safety of eprosartan in the treatment of hypertensive patients with coro-nary heart disease. METHODS:160 hypertensive patients with coronary heart disease randomly divided into observation group and control group. All patients were given aspirin, nitroglycerin, low molecular weight heparin, statins and other conventional treat-ment;control group was additioanlly given 50 mg Losartan potassium tablet, orally, once a day. Observation group was additional-ly given 600 mg Eprosartan tablet, orally, once a day. The treatment course for both groups was 6 months. Clinical efficacy,sit-ting systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure, alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),urea (UREA),creatinine(Cr),uric acid(UA),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),the Mini-Mental status (MMSE) scale and activities of daily living (ADL) scale scores before and after treatment and incidence of adverse reactions in 2 groups were observed. RESULTS:There was no signifi-cant difference in the total effective rate between 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the sitting systolic blood pressure and diastol-ic blood pressure,MMSE and ADL scale scores in 2 groups were significantly lower than before, and sitting systolic blood pres-sure in observation group was lower than control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there were no significant differences in sitting diastolic blood pressure,MMSE and ADL scale scores between 2 groups(P>0.05),and no signifi-cant differences in ALT,AST,UREA,Cr,UA,TC,TG,HDL-C and LDL-C between 2 groups before and after treatment(P>0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions during treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Eprosartan can effectively reduce sitting systol-ic blood pressure in hypertensive patients with coronary heart disease, and improve cognitive function, with good safety.

OBJECTIVE:To study the effects and mechanism of propranolol on the myocardial abnormal electrophysiology sta-tion in diabetic model rats. METHODS:SD rats were randomly divided into normal control(normal saline)group,diabetic(nor-mal saline)group,PD98059(ERK inhibitor,10 mg/kg)group and propranolol low-dose,medium-dose and high-dose(1,20,50 mg/kg)groups,with 8 rats in each group. Except for normal control group, rats were given alloxan(20 mg/kg)intravenously via tail vein to induce diabetic model. They were given relevant medicine intragastrically, once a day,for consecutive 42 days. The car-diac index, electrocardiogram and action potential durations (APD) of rats were analyzed;the expression of TNF-α,IL-2,IL-6 and IL-10 protein in serum were detected, and the expression of Ras,Raf,ERK kinase(MEK)and ERK1/2 in myocardial tissue were detected. RESULTS:Compared with normal control group, cardiac index increased in diabetes group;heart rate decreased;QT interval and APD were prolonged;the relative expression of TNF-α,IL-2,IL-6,IL-10,Ras,Raf,MEK and ERK1/2 protein increased (P<0.01). Compared with diabetes group, cardiac index decreased in propranolol medium-dose and high-dose groups and PD98059 group, heart rate increased,QT interval and APD were shortened;the relative expression of TNF-α,IL-2,IL-6, IL-10,Ras,Raf,MEK and ERK1/2 protein decreased(P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:Propranolol can improve myocar-dial abnormal electrophysiology station of diabetic model rats by down-regulating inflammatory reactions in serum and inhibiting the activation of MEK/ERK signaling pathway.
