Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of modified anti -tuberculosis scheme in the treatment of tuberculous meningitis.Methods 60 cases with tuberculous meningitis were randomly divided into two groups.We enrolled 30 patients in each group.The traditional anti -tuberculosis group used traditional anti -tuberculosis scheme with isoniazid,rifampicin,pyrazinamide,streptomycin,and the modified anti -tuberculosis group was given isoniazid,rifampicin,pyrazinamide,levofloxacin,the treatment course of tuberculous meningitis was 12 months.The efficacy and safety through clinical manifestations and laboratory examinations,the dynamic changes of cerebrospinal fluid were evaluated by statistical methods.Results The total effective rate of the modified anti -tuberculosis group was significantly higher than the traditional anti -tuberculosis group(86.6% vs.63.3%,χ2 =4.36,P <0.05).The cerebrospinal fluid routine and biochemical index in the modified anti -tuberculosis group were obviously superior to the traditional anti -tuberculosis group after treatment(all P <0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(26.6% vs.16.7%,χ2 =0.88,P >0.05).Conclusion Levofloxacin combined with other first -line anti -tuberculosis drugs,glucocorticoids,dehydration and other comprehensive measures improved brain function for the treatment of tuberculous meningitis is recommended.

Environmental Microbiology is an important basic course of Environmental Engineering.Its characteristic is content broad,quick development and strong practicality,thus this curriculum's teaching has certain degree of difficulty.Some suggestions and concrete measures about teaching reform,which included curriculum's course content,teaching method,experiment teaching and assessment methods were proposed in this paper.

Objective:To screen fine germplasm resources and suitable cultivated place for Paris polypyh lla var.yunnanensis by determining the content of total saponins , total flavonoids and total polysaccharides collected from Yunnan and Guizhou .Methods:An Ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry method was applied to determine the total contents of saponin , flavonoid and polysaccharide in 14 germplasm resources of Paris polyhp ylla var.yunnanensis.Results:The contents of saponins, flavonoids and polysaccharides in Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis collected from the different habitats were obviously different .The herb with high quality was selected from Xiaguan and Dali with the highest total content of saponins and the content of the three components was 55.760 0 and 61.632 0 mg· g-1 , respectively , which was significantly higher than that from the other habitats .Conclusion: It is proved that the quality of Pa ris polyphyll a var.yunnanensis produced in Dali of Yunnan is better than that from the other regions , and the high yield culture techniques should be studied further .

C erbB 2 is overexpressed in 20%～30% of human breast cancers,this oncoprotein plays an important role in predicting response to chemotherapy in breast cancer.Overexpression of c erbB 2 in breast cancer is associated with resistance or sensitivity to certain chemo therapeutic drugs, c erbB 2 can be expected to be a biological marker to direct chemotherapy in the treatment of breast cancer.

Objective To analyze the histopathology of patients with atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS),and provide evidence for further classification and clinical treatment of ASCUS.Methods The histopathology of cervical biopsy specimens from 249 patients with ASCUS diagnosed by liquid-based cervical cytology examination was analyzed retrospectively. Results Among the 249 ASCUS patients, the proportion of patients with inflammation was 34.14% (85/249), morphological change by human papillomaviral infection was 19.28%(48/249), CIN I was 32.53%(81/249),CIN II was 8.84%(22/249),CIN III was 3.21%(8/249), infiltrating squamous cell carcinoma was 1.20%(3/249),and endometrioid adenocarcinoma was 0.80%(2/249) . Conclusion It is very important to to further definitude the diagnosis of ASCUS, because a certain proportion of cervical cancer and precancerous leisions woud be confirmed.

Objective To investigate the effects of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) short hair RNA (shRNA) delivered by lentiviral vectors (pGLV) on cardiac function after myocardial infarction (MI) in aldosterone overload rats and to explore the mechanism.Methods Aldosterone overload rat myocardial infarction model was obtained by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery.The pGLV-shRNA was constructed,sequenced and injected into rats via tail vein.Rats were divided into 3 groups:pGLV-shRNA group (n=6),pGLV-shRNA-NC group (n=6,contained a nonsense shRNA) and the sham-operation group (n=6).Cardiac function was measured by cardiac ultrasound.Apoptosis was assessed by transferase (TdT)-mediated biotin-16-dUTP nick-end labelling (TUNEL).The p38 MAPK mRNA expression was analyzed by RT-PCR.The protein expressions of p38 MAPK and caspase-3 were detected by Western blot.Results Compared with the sham-operation group,cardiac systolic function was reduced and myocardial apoptosis index was significantly increased [(31.26 ± 4.45) ％ vs.(15.20 ± 2.18) ％,P ＜ 0.01] in pGLV-shRNA-NC group.The mRNA and protien expressions of p38MAPK and caspase 3 protein expression were significantly increased in pGLV-shRNA-NC group (all P＜0.01).Compared with pGLV-shRNA-NC group,cardiac function was improved,myocardial cell apoptosis index was reduced [(22.35±3.59)％ vs.(31.26±4.45)％,P＜0.05],and the mRNA and protien expressions of p38MAPK and caspase 3 protein expression were decreased in pGLV-shRNA group (all P＜0.05).Conclusions Cardiac dysfunction is associated with p38MAPK-mediated myocardial apoptosis in aldosterone overload MI rats.pGLV-shRNA may inhibit cardiomyocyte apoptosis and improve postMI cardiac function.

Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) is one of the most commonly encountered developmental toxicity, which could lead to perinatal morbidity and mortality, be also extended from the fetus to adulthood, and seriously affect the quality of the population. Caffeine widely exists in a variety of daily beverages and some drugs. Its consumption is increasing year by year. Caffeine intake during pregnancy is one of the risk factors for IUGR. However, its mechanism of adverse outcome based on embryonic research is still unclear. In this paper, the possible mechanisms of caffeine-induced IUGR focusing on 3 important factors-the mother, placenta and fetus were explored. Caffeine's impact on the mother is the chronic activation of renin-angiotensin system; on the placenta, caffeine induces cell damage or the failure of the cell proliferation/apoptosis balance, leading to blockage of blood supply to the placenta; caffeine is also capable of directly affecting fetal development through interfering its neuroendocrine.

We present the binding ability of a new peptide (CMPQVMPMC-) with dental enamel after being evaluated in the present study. Under a standard procedure, the recovery of M13 filamentous phage was greatly enhanced by displaying the peptide in phage coat protein p III. Then the cyclic peptide was synthesized using a solid method. The effect of the cyclic peptide in vitro biomineralization was tested in a single-diffusion microtiter plate gel system. Absorbance at 405 nm of each sample was recorded for 24 h at every 6 h intervals. The relatively increased values of each sample were expressed as percentages relative to the blank group (100%). The cyclic peptide resulted in a concentration-dependent delayed nucleation. In addition, the overall values of peptide groups at the end of 24 h were lower than those in the control group but much higher than those in the BSA control group.
